  1. Dolomite you need to try mine for a comparison first.
  2. I prefer the troys the feedlips are stouter and you can't over insert them like pmags :-)
  3. Looking good....next time you buy some mags try the TROY ones...they are awesome.
  4. What i meant was a tactical style scope with magnification that can take some abuse and is a true 1-4x style...you can get a nice redfield scope for $100 thats a 3-9x but its not really a true "AR" scope though its fine for shooting some animals that don't shoot back.
  5. I hope he can make it happen for you...its a great set!
  6. Targetshooter your price range eliminates a reliable scope and mount ar suitable....so now you can concentrate on red dots :-)
  7. Happy to report the Sig shot as good as it looks. Good trigger, more accurate then me, and after 150rds(not a lot but...) No ftf or fte with USAammo or aguila 230gr fmj :-)
  8. The 1911 probably malfunctioned because it was just cerakoted and the smith didnt test fit the parts together before you got it back...get ready to do a bit of sanding and hand cycling(hopefully thats all you will need to do) to get it back close to its factory tolerances. I had a Sig P245 that never failed me and then I got it coated and figured out the problem. As far as the other ones.....do you clean your guns regularly ;-D Fwiw I went to the range today with my Sig POW/MIA 1911 and Spikes 9mm AR....Sig ran great...9mm AR...well...forgot the ammo 40mins away at home lol.
  9. I have an older Eotech 552 (AA battery with NV) and it has been asleep for about 2 years and still comes on just fine...course im using lithium energizers....its a good sight but is a bit long compared to whats available now. Its mounted on my MSAR. On my 5.56 AR I have an Eotech OPmod (optics planet) EXPs 2-2 it uses 1 CR123 battery and so far I like it a lot. Have only had it for about 2 months though...so far, so good. On my 9mm AR I have a Bushnell TRS-25 and its awesome for $70.00 http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Trophy-TRS-25-1xRed-Riflescope/dp/B00200E0HM Buy a UTG high or med riser (co-witness or 1/3 co-witness) and your gtg for about $80 shipped to your door (sight and riser) .'>Amazon.com: utg med riser: Sports & Outdoors.. I have over 400rds through it so far and its holding zero awesome...very easy to make hits on target and it doesnt look cheap. Funny thing is I have Troy Noveske labeled backups that cost almost twice what I got in the dot lol. For under $100 the TRS-25 is a great buy and its not junky like the ncstar versions. For $400 range I like the eotech a lot but...its 4x more money. A good inexpensive combo would be some arms polymer/metal flip up's combined with the Bushnell TRS25...you would have a red dot for recreational shooting and if shtf and the bushnell bit it you would still have some bombproof back up sights all for under $200 invested. ARMS 71L-F & 71L-R Flip-Up Sights <----arms flip ups...I hear botach's customer service is getting better
  10. it probably costs more then my Lexus since the insurance company gave me a check for what I paid for it after the hail storm ;-D
  11. awful nice of you to do that. Congrats to the winners!
  12. That thing probably looks pretty cool with some night vision on...or does the elcan have night vision?
  13. Go with a Spikes LPK over the DD its cheaper and the QC is better...the parts are the same if not better also. If it wasnt listed get a nickel boron coated bolt carrier group....Spikes has an excellent one for $225.00...it can be removed without gloves after multiple mags have been run through the gun, it requires minimal lubrication, is very easy to clean, is all mil-spec, and should yield a much longer service life then even a chromed bcg. $225 might seem expensive now, but once you use one you will think its worth almost double. if you havent bought an upper yet might I suggest going over to AIM Surplus Home and checking out the Spikes Elite FN Cold Hammer Forged complete uppers that include a Nickel Boron BCG and heavy buffer for $699.00 If your stuck on a 20" stroll over to PSA as they have a very nice complete FN Hammer Forged Setup for $500-600 (without the Nib, but still a standard bcg)
  14. She has been treated to a Slip EWG "bath" so come sunday we will she how she competes with my RIA "match"...if it shoots at least as good the match will be up on the "chopping block".
  15. I'm glad they sent this traitors to fiery hell instead of risking some of our best trying to capture him. As to the other piece of trash that got vaporized he was a fellow American jihadi that ran a much publicized jihadist website out of north carolina..guess they will be looking for a new webmaster ;-)
  16. F that he renounced his us citizenship and encouraged others to wage war against us. He is no more a US citizen then osama was. The penalty for treason is death.
  17. crap a roo.....i hope it comes back on again...the only shows I like on their are TacTV and Handguns...guns and ammo is boring and im not a hunter so im glad they have something else interesting in the mix Thanks for the heads up (dang channel cost me an extra $5 a month)
  18. Don't worry...Hornady is a smart company...they will sell this stateside too. Yours truly will definitely be buying some now that my Zombie themed AR is 99% complete.
  19. I work at a car dealership...so OC is not an option. My Dad and I own the place but I don't wanna scare off customers that arent gun friendly "buy the car or I will shoot". I do always carry though...and I have quite a few customers open carry on the lot. Normally the ones that do are extremely small guys or "cowboys" so to me its an intimidation mindset...im not saying all people that Open Carry feel a need to project power, but the one's I run across typically fit that description. I do think however you did prevent a crime without bloodshed which it probably would have came too had you not been spotted carrying so kudo's to you. I will relate a quick story...one time I was at my local credit union on 17th at 9pm depositing my check and i just happened to turn around to find a young punk two handing a skateboard not 15 feet from me who immediately stopped in his tracks when I wheeled around placed my hand on my 1911 (at the time a Dan Wesson Cbob) that was concealed to him until that moment....needless to say he backpedal'd and took off....would he still have approached had he seen that shiny man-killer first (ala open carry)...I don't know...but im glad I was packing either way.
  20. I remember not more then a year and a half ago 1,080 rounds was $89 in a sealed tin...oh well....
  21. If you have a carry permit I know they passed that law here in TN where you can have a rifle or shotgun in your trunk as long as there isnt one in the chamber...im not sure this is a whole lot different....PM fallguy hes the resident rules/regs guru or "Subject Matter Expert" ;-D
  22. If you like that pattern...try the Centurion ball and buck...its a 65cal ball followed by 6 rounds of #1 buck....it within a small paper plate at 25yds 2 3/4....nasty stuff...great for SD
  23. Oil is like the oil in your car...same type of flow/viscosity Grease is more like vaseline whether you use oil or grease is really a personal preference though some guns and or components seem to favor one over the other. Most people would not grease the bolt carrier group of their AR15 because its too thick so you would want something thinner...such as....OIL! Most Sig Sauer fanatics recommend using grease on the slides because it stays in place better and gives more of a cushion especially in the all stainless guns whereas an oil is not gonna give enough "cushion" for the metal to metal contact (least thats how I understand/use the two)
  24. I have some KNS gen 2 anti-rotation pins, but they are not installed yet....still debating on how necessary they really are...
