+1 Great! Where do I find explosive 5.56 rounds?

Holy crap, I just looked at a map. I actually came from Auburntown and took a left onto Bryson Rd and right onto Fann Rd which is where I got the flat. I don't know wheeeeere my GPS was taking me. It prolly had something to do with not having any reception, lol. I think I'm gonna try and head up there again tomorrow. Thanks for the info!

I just wanted to let everyone know that it is now safe to drive the gravel road to this range because genius me took my convertible Mustang and used my rear left tire to pick up this: So don't worry, the road is safe now. It's a one lane gravel road for everyone's information. Just in case, make sure you have a spare tire and don't take a nice car. Take a truck or something with clearance. There was one gravel uphill part I wasn't sure if the stang would make it. Doesn't help that the dang stang is rear wheel drive. I wasn't gonna attempt it with a deflating tire either. I could see myself with a flat tire, nearly grounded out, trying to change a tire on a slope, blocking the road, no cell reception, and a good hour or twos walk from town, carrying a sack of heavy ass guns.Needless to say I turned around, changed the tire at a church in Auburntown after unwiring my sub to get to the spare, and pouted all the way home driving 40mph. FML. Now I have to find a new range. Or a new car... yeah right... On the plus side, I got my tires balanced for free... lol

Looks like I'm gonna try to make it out tomorrow around noon. But it all depends on when the UPS guy drops off my magnifier! Whole point of goin out there is to test it out! See you guys out there hopefully! Btw, I was able to print my own targets, lol! There are a lot of free templates online. I hope I'll be able to hit/see these little targets! Ha!

My brother in law is Army Special Forces. He said that they are constantly train ing. I asked him if he wanted to go shooting and he said "I'm on vacation! I'm not working on my vacation!" lol I can't imagine getting to that point where I wouldn't want to go shooting anymore, lol

To go along with TN-PoPo and his skill thread..

I feel ya on the shotgun, lol -
I actually performed opposite in low-light. I would consistently put way more rounds down the range and got way better groupings than I normally did. Don't worry though. You're on the right track, bud. - Magpul, Art of the Tactical Shotgun/Carbine/Handgun

Pistol - UC Piece of cake. Wish I could have focused more on the carbine instead, but it wasn't my choice! Carbine - CC Still gotta think about it sometimes... I wish it was second nature! lol I need to do more live fire drills. Trying to remember to use the B.A.D. lever again after not being allowed to for so long. It's very helpful for most malfunctions, I just forget to use it. So much for consistency!!! :rant:Anyway, this is the one I'm working on now! Shotgun - CI I can barely do the simple things. Getting a good balance, handling recoil, aiming down a barrel, changing out rounds (its a little more difficult with a Mossberg). You have to hold the magazine tube in while you rack the slide to keep it from feeding a shell. It's gonna take a lot of practice or I'M GETTING RID OF IT! Just kidding... It's too sexy.

Leatherman Warranty Review +1!
MiddTennTaco replied to MiddTennTaco's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Don't be afraid to send it in. You'll survive, I did. I actually had withdrawals. I actually tore up my room looking for it once and then I realized I had mailed it away! Haha! But in that week while it was gone, I found myself needing it 3-5 times. :-\ TWO saw blades?! That's hilarious. I'm glad you had backup Leathermans and I'm glad that their customer service took care of you. Side Note: I saw the new Leatherman Supertool 300 at Walmart today goin for $54. I took a close look and amazingly enough these things are still made in Portland, Oregon, USA. The new 300 looks totally different from the original. It's definitely beefier! It might make it under the tree this year. -

Another 15 years actually! Haha! Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk -
3x ordered. Figure if I want more magnification power later, I can just order the 7x tube by itself! Thanks for the opinions.

Leatherman Warranty Review +1!

Wow! They have an amazing warranty. I've had a Leatherman Supertool (the first model) for over 10 years and I've beaten the **** out of it and abused it to hell. Last week Monday, I got the bright idea I would send it back to the factory for warranty work. I had broken off the file and the flat head screwdriver using them as prybars. I also murdered both blades. They both had chips in the blade from be beating the crap out of them and had rust and pitting from leaving it outdoors (in hawaii, salty humid air). The wire cutters were used for cutting things other than wire, lol. I've had this since I was a child. I actually FOUND it hiking with my dad. Anyway, I wrote them a formal letter stating how the multi-tool had been to hell and back with me and even admitted abusing it. I told them how I've come to rely and depend on it and thanked them for making such a rugged reliable and useful tool. I made it obvious that I was sentimentally attached to it. One week later (today) I received a completely refurbished Leatherman Supertool. They removed 99% of all the rust. Both the file and and the flat head screwdriver were replaced. Both blades were refurbished and sharpened (one straight, one serrated). Even the pliers themselves were replaced! They also replaced the external lanyard clip that I never even used. ONE week back to my door AND American made? It doesn't get any better. To be honest, I've never been so impressed with any warranty work I have ever received. They definitely went above and beyond and bought themselves a life customer. I'm planning on sending them a thank you card of some sorts and I thought I would post this review on the forums as a testament to their business. I am now planning on buying my father in law a Leatherman for Christmas as it suites his line of work. Pictures coming soon!

I'm actually shopping for a magnifier to put behind my reddot sight. Not a scope. Thanks though

I really need some advice on a magnifier. I am trying to choose between a 3x, 5x, and 7x magnifier for my AR-15 and it's going to be on a flip to side mount. I'm mounting it behind an Aimpoint if that makes any difference. I'm not really even sure how accurate my rifle is at long range. Anyone have an idea of the effective range of a Colt 6940? I'm not an expert marksman by any means nor do I intend to be. I'd just like to be able to see what I'm shooting at at longer ranges. Back home, I was easily able to hit a torso sized gong at 200 yards with my Eotech by covering the target with the dot. With the Aimpoint, I can turn the brightness way down and have a more precise dot. I'm planning on using the RDS for 15-150 yards and hoping a magnifier will help me with anything past that. I was originally planning on getting a 3x magnifier and ordered one but it was back-ordered a month so I canceled. Now that I have the option, I'm wondering if I should go with a more powerful magnification since I'm spending the money anyway. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to order today!
