  1. Workin on it, thanks Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk
  2. Also, no conceal permits at all unless youre a police officer. Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk
  3. As a former police officer in hawaii... Whatever handgun you pick, youre limited to 10rnd magazines. Its a felony otherwise. Same thing with any rifle where a pistol variant exists. Therefore because there are pistol ARs, youre limited to 10 rounds there too. Also when you land there, you have to take your guns locked and unloaded to the honolulu police department on beretania street so they can inspect and register youre firearm. I think you have three days. The firearm purchasing process is a pain. First thing you have to do is go to the police department between 8am - 4pm (mon - fri) and apply for either a rifle or pistol permit (pistol you have to take a handgun safety course), get a background check and fingerprints, wait two weeks, pick up the permit between 8am - 4pm (mo - fri), go to a gun store, buy the gun, take the gun to the police department between 8am - 4pm, register it, then you can take it home. For the record, only one place to shoot rifle and its always packed. Theres only a handful of indoor shooting ranges. Make sure you read up on the laws before you go. 4. Debating the wood grips on my PCR Compact. I've come to like the rubber grips though...
  5. Same
  6. You better be careful now! It's okay, we won't say anything.
  7. I just picked up a CZ 75 D PCR compact not too long ago and I love it! This thing is a tack driver and utterly reliable!
  8. For the record I'm back from camping and we're all alive. However...SOMETHING licked our frying pan clean in the middle of the night. I hung it about 100 yards from camp and I'm glad I did! We also nearly froze to death last night. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to camp at the top of a mountain next to a straight drop off cliff. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Note to self... do not set up camp in exposed locations. It sounded like a 24/7 tornado. I was scared that if I opened the tent door I'd find a pair of ruby slippers and a yellow brick road! Virgin Falls, Sparta, TN. Canned Chili. True Story.
  9. ... excited to see the new firearms coming out this year? This is an article on Guns N Ammo showing 10 new rifles. Pretty amazing stuff! I wish I could get my hands on that LWRC PSD 300. Definitely considering that Ruger American Rifle! What do yall think?
  10. I got a few of the DVD's but not the money for ammo to train! haha
  11. Man I thought being in TENNESSEE I could hike with my AR-15 just SLUNG over my back!
  12. My first AR was a Colt 6940 and I still have this flawless gun! Been through many rounds and only had one jam with steel cased crap ammo.
  13. Thanks for the help, I'm not going to take it. Instead I'm going to work on my acting skills. Playing dead is a difficult one. Wish us luck!
  14. Nevermind, I found it. Could you explain why that wouldn't apply? 39-17-1308. Defenses to unlawful possession or carrying of a weapon (4)
  15. That sounds like the ticket to me. Can I ask where you found that? And no, I resigned from the department I worked for to go back to school. I believe you have to retire as a police officer for LEOSA to apply.
  16. Hey folks, just looking for any solution here. I am a former police officer from another state and at the moment I'm scheduled for a conceal carry class and of course the permit following. However, right now I am planning on doing some hiking/back country camping with a few friends. I've heard that Tennessee has mountain lions, wolves, bears, etc As I understand it, it seems that possession of a "loaded" firearm in state parks is prohibited by law. Is this correct? And does this mean that unloaded firearms are okay? As useless as it sounds, it seems better than nothing. If it makes any difference, I have a small game hunting license Thanks in advance for any info!
  17. I had that happen. I had a really weird feeling grabbing a late night snack in the kitchen. Then I heard a noise at the door and found my mother in law outside. Freaky $%!^...
  18. Seriously.... and DON'T SPRAY YOUR BACKUP!
  19. props to david for all his work
  20. I know. I just found 1,000 rnds of 9mm 115gr FMJ's for $182 delivered to my door. $155 without shipping. http://gun-deals.com/faq
  21. 911 services, what's the emergency?
  22. I had a Glock 19 for less than a year. I put about 1000 rounds through it and had about 20-30 failures. Whether they were caused by the ammo or the gun, you can never really tell. FTE, FTF, but most were stovepipes. I got lots of brass on my head too for some reason. I used PMC 9mm and those Georgia Arms factory reloads. I don't know if its my style of shooting but I always shot a hard left too and my pinky was always spilling over the bottom of the grip because I have fat fingers. Maybe thats why I shot it bad. (Its a compact) I'm sure Glocks are great pistols, they're just not for me. I can't stand striker fired guns anymore. Put some metal in my hands! I was FAR more accurate with my old duty S&W 5906 and I am FAR better with my new CZ 75 D PCR. This thing is a laser. Glad you're getting in some practice! Remember, you're liable for every round that comes out of that gun! I need to go get some more practice in too!
