So it aint gonna hurt anything to leave them long?
-
In class now but I'd just like to doublecheck my 9mm loads Ive made. Ive got falcon bullet 115gr round nose hard cast bullets on top of 4grs of unique. I think I have the length set way too long. Gonna measure them again when i get home tonight. Can anyone recommend a safe OAL for this bullet type? Ill take pictures too because it just looks wrong.

Thank you all for the kind words. It meant a lot to me especially this morning. I think I actually did VERY well on two of those three tests. The last one Im pretty sure I failed. I think that was actually the only reason I was freaking out - only that test. He's a great professor and I really enjoy his lectures but for some reason I have a hard time with his tests. It doesn't make any sense. He also happens to be my advisor and I'm wondering if I should sit down and talk with him. I got a 68% on his first test - the lowest grade I've ever received on any test... ever... Preschool-elementary-high school, police academy, and college. I know I'm not stupid... Wow, now I'm kind of pissed actually... Constitutional Issues in Criminal Justice @ MTSU

Ken's Guns in Lewisburg lost my business forever
MiddTennTaco replied to jaymc75's topic in General Chat
I was there when they started out and they were awesome. Did some business with them. Now I hear nothing but awful things about that place and I feel terrible for ever having recommended them to my friends and family. -
Today I have accepted that I'm probably about to fail three major exams. College has always proven to be challenging but I've always made A's and B's. I've only got two semesters left until I finish my bachelors degree. Man, this sucks...

Yep! And Larry's retarded, you can tell him I said so, lol. (Josh w/steves mobile autoglass) But he's a good guy and does a great job, highly recommend.

Saw this thread in the classifieds. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/63481-trade-hornady-9mm-die-set-for-lee-9mm-die-set/ I'I have a set of Lee 9mm dies and I was wondering if the Hornady set is any better. Those locking rings alone sure are tempting me. Anything else? I just want the set that's going to give me the most reliability. All I make are dirt cheap cast range rounds. Can anyone comment?

Army wife near Nashville shopping for my first gun
MiddTennTaco replied to a topic in New Member Introductions
Welcome to the forums. You really WILL find that this is the nicest friendliest online gun community on the web! Every single TGO member I have ever met have been some of the most outstanding, down-to-earth, genuinely friendly people I have ever met. Good luck finding a carry pistol! You will find that a lot of people experiment with a lot of guns as a carry piece until they find "the one." It took me three tries until I found it (CZ-75 Compact). I actually ended up selling it and went through two more pistols over a half years time until I realized how much I liked it! Maybe you'll get lucky! -

Reloading? Is it that difficult?
MiddTennTaco replied to serbu50's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Get your reloading equipment where you can. You only have to buy them once. For the cheapest reloading components contact David here on the forums "dlm37015" (615-497-4205). He's up in Nashville area. -
Reloading? Is it that difficult?
MiddTennTaco replied to serbu50's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
It's time consuming and there are many important steps that you can't forget. There many videos on YouTube showing the entire process from start to finish. Watch a few and you can decide for yourself whether or not it is difficult. The first time is difficult if you're teaching yourself - you want to be very careful of course. Once you've developed a load and have everything set up, its very easy and much quicker. -
I'll get one in due time. For now, I don't mind stocking a reject pile. Like Caster said, they're just bullets. I can live without them for a while. I appreciate all of the responses.

Well I'm shooting out of a .357 mag but I understand what you mean. I've just started a special box of effed up rounds that need to be pulled apart so someday when I can get myself to buy a puller, I'll be set to go....

How much is too much to pay for ammo right now?
MiddTennTaco replied to LowBb's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Yeah, that's ridiculous. What if I like to use hard cast sized and lubed 115gr .355" diamater lead sinkers when I go fishing? lol -
45ACP. Lead cast bullets. BRN differences.
MiddTennTaco replied to vujade's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I just bought a bunch of bullets from Falcon Bullet Company here in TN. Am I supposed to lube them myself before I load them (to prevent leading?)? I noticed all of the bullets have a blue waxy ring on them - I don't even know what THAT's for. .38/357 and 9mm -

MiddTennTaco replied to LowBb's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The cheapest bullets I can find for what I reload are 8 cents a piece. You definitely have to cast to get that cheap, lol. Damn, I'm just afraid to take the plunge into casting. Reloading is a decent amount of work/time as it is and I think I'd be better off spending an hour or two at work extra to buy cast bullets. HEY, is it legal to cast your own bullets and sell them? Got any spare time on your hands Caster? I'm sure you'd get a lot of business on these forums, lol. -
Where do you buy your reloading supplies?
MiddTennTaco replied to enfield's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Well you might want to consider a new job if thats the case. Im just kidding! I know what you mean. Its hard finding him. I think he needs his own thread stickied.<br /><br />"Where in the World is David?" -

David (dlm37015). The end. I dont even know why we have this thread. -
Hey, so this is a stupid question guys. Can I install a primer into a casing thats already been charged, bullet seated, and crimped? lol I just made a batch of .38 spl and I guess I forgot to prime this one, lol. I'm sure some powder fell out in the process but I'm using Unique so probably not much. I found 8 flakes in the tray. Didn't find any on or by the press. I guess the question now is, what do I do? lol..... I really don't want to buy a bullet puller.

Anyone order from www.mastercastbullets.com?
MiddTennTaco replied to jaysouth's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I don't know about shipping. Their prices seem pretty darn reasonable though. -
Ive had and regularly used mine for over 4 years: a 10 month police academy, lots of air travel, 3 x 7-mile back country camping trips, and 4 college semesters. Wash it and it looks like the day I got it as a gift. I dont know how it could have bad reviews, thats ridiculous!
