Cut Birdshot shells = Slug?
MiddTennTaco replied to MiddTennTaco's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
And some people just take cheap shots and ain't worth a damn. -
What do yall think about this video? Anybody done it before? Obviously you wouldn't want to do this with a choke gun. I've got a single shot break open 20 gauge I want to try this with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=k3M46XVfVOU

Look for yourself, thats how much the normal Lee sets are ending for at auction. Sickening. I could kick myself for not picking up a set at a LGS a couple weeks ago for $50 + tax. Now theyre out of stock and I cant find them anywhere but Ebay so im $hit out of luck. At least I have .38 spl dies. I need to get with David for powder and primers for that as well. People are crazy I swear.

Anyone try Falcon Bullet Company here in Tennessee? Their prices seem unbelievable even with tax and shipping. -

You guys are retarded lol

I can say with confidence that I have the most unique reloading station, lol! For those curious it is a gerbil cage. They are three x 1 year old girls: Moscow, Dallas, and Sydney (niece named them, lol)

This is pretty much the best post on this forum I've ever read. I laughed until I realized I'm pretty much in the same boat. At least I feel that way after looking at this mans stockpile.

Why are there so many? You have one set up for each caliber?... and more?... That's like having a collection of Glocks. I don't get it, lol

Will be driving to Arkansas in the near future. I understand Arkansas is reciprocal with the TN HCP. I've been reading up on Arkansas carry laws and from what I understand in effect, I have an Arkansas carry permit in my wallet. Is that how the reciprocity works? Is there anything else I should know? The only differences I've found are: MUST conceal Must inform LEO's Can't carry in a long list of places

Wow, you guys are great! Thank you for the replies so far! A lot of tempting ones so far!

I gotta say personally I didn't like the island very much. I suppose I should say we tend to like places with lots of panoramic mountain views, waterfalls, caves, etc. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I've got a group of friends and we're wanting to find a good place to go back country camping. Any suggestions? Nothing TOO hard or long. We'll have some women who are unaccustomed to long hikes. I've pretty much worn out Virgin Falls - I highly recommend it though! It's a little difficult of a hike but I liked it because most of the trail is beside a river majority of the time (filter water so we don't have to carry as much) and there are plenty of campsites near water as well. In order of importance: 1. Legal to carry with permit 2. Access to water (hiking & campsites) 3. Not too difficult (women and we carry a ton of gear) 4. Campfire OK Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

S&W Shotgun, 1100 model, I think...?
MiddTennTaco replied to Steelharp's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I don't understand the problem. If it's a S&W why don't you let them fix it? They have fantastic customer service. -
Yeah, I laughed pretty hard..

That's not so bad. They are about 45 minutes from where I live, I may just call to see if they have it in stock then drive down there. I completely understand your decision. Like I said, I've had two Glocks before and I didn't like how they felt in my hands (they were both compact, 19 and 23). I might be tempted by a used full size Glock 17 but those are easily running $100-$200 more USED than what a CZ P07 costs new and I don't even like strikers to begin with.

I will be checking the outpost armory hopefully in the near future. They are pretty expensive from what I hear though. Thanks for the reply.

.357 and "heavy" .38 special loads
MiddTennTaco replied to res308's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
What kind of powder are you using? Don't you have a reloading book? -
FYI I'm hoping to make this my life-long, perfect fit to me, no frills, relatively inexpensive conceal carry gun. If anyone in Murfreesboro actually has one I'd be willing to cover your gas. I'm really trying hard to find "the one." No I don't want a Glock, I've had a few before. I don't like how they fit my hand. I've had an M&P before as well - much better but still don't like a striker fire pistol. CZ-75's are perfect for me - decocker models are just in the bad place for my thumbs forward grips.
-
Does anyone have one of these? I've had a CZ 75 D PCR before but I hate a decocker and not to mention it being in an uncomfortable position (at least for me) (safety is in a different position). I guess what I'm basically wondering is if the trigger is anywhere near as good as a regular CZ 75 and if the grip/grip angle is relatively the same as well. So far I've only heard good things about reliability and I have heard that this pistol has gone through the same tests that the CZ P01 went through. I would love to find one locally so I could handle it, check the trigger, and feel the grip but it seems no one likes to stock or sell them in Middle Tennessee.
