  1. Thank you sooo much David. Give me a call when youve got a chance. I appreciate it!
  2. Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith who will install night sights on a Glock? I'd usually go to On Target but I've been there far too many times before just to find out that I came on the wrong day. It would seem they only have the gunsmith come in every third Wednesday of odd numbered months between 10:30:57 and 10:31:00.   All joking aside - someone please help me! lol These glock u-sights are killing me...
  3. I know a guy in Smyrna. He's really goood. I dont know if thats too far for you. I know I couldnt find a sharpener in Mid Tn to save my life let alone finding a good one.
  4. Good luck finding a fat 1lb squirrel let alone at LEAST four of them every day. 2000 calories is considered a normal diet, not an active persons calorie consumption. You could easily double that being outdoors. Cleaning, preserving, and packing deer meat? Trust me, lol... Its been done as many times as there are stars in the sky. You know whats actually ridiculous? Surviving on squirrel meat. Ive never heard of anyone surviving on squirrel. Maybe a skilled native american two hundred years ago before we populated this continent.
  5. I've heard it doesn't have a lot of penetration.
  6. I would look to old west pioneers for wilderness wisdom. I would consider .22 hunting a last resort (especially being unreloadable). You'd be better off learning to trap in a wilderness survival situation. I'd just take one gun, a Ruger GP100 6" .357 mag revolver with a 6 inch barrel OR a lever rifle in the same caliber. They shoot both .38 spl and .357 magnum loads. They will literally last an infinite mix of either. What's good about the two calibers is that they are the easiest to reload with either modern powder or black powder that you may eventually have to resort to making yourself, factory boolits or home-cast. You can shoot regular .38 spl or snake shot for small to REALLY small game (birds included) and .357 mag loads for large game at a distance. Not to mention you can easily defend yourself against the two legged types with a .357 mag. Forget the second gun, take more ammo. Lol
  7. I conceal a S&W M&P40 (15+1) w/TLR1 light daily. When I get home it turns into a 19+1 and goes on my nightstand when I go to bed. I'm trying to justify night sights so I can more easily index it in the dark from my nightstand. I found out quickly that any rifle/shotgun is too long to effeciently move around corners and requires both hands to keep at the ready. This is bad for operating light switches, doors, and maintaining my personal space, specifically my cranium from blunt force. I do not doubt a rifle or shotguns effectiveness. They are just too slow and offer too much to grab onto in my home. YMMV
  8. The history is nice and all but it looks like crap to be honest. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  9. Id check out MDJ holsters. They make inexpensive crossbreed style holsters. I had him custom make me a M&P40 w/pistol light and I had it in my hands within a couple days. He's out of Arizona.
  10. I don't think anybody here cares about being thanked! You gotta post some photos of whatever you get!  ;)
  11.   The Mountain Gun designates a slightly lighter weight barrel. They are pretty rare from what I understand and supposedly makes for a better pointing revolver altogether. I could have made the decision in two seconds - S&W 686+ 4" Mountain Gun all day, every day!   I completely respect and understand that Sig Sauer makes highly quality and reliable guns. To me though the looks and general feel of the gun are just like a S&W 5906 which I would rather have for 1/4 the price. Ford Explorer or Lincoln Aviator? You know? Generally, both guns were top competitors in the full metal high capacity wonder 9mm era until people started taking Glock seriously.   Stupidly, S&W dropped the 5906 from the catalog and Sig Sauer wisely kept selling their only popularly successful design they've ever had.
  12. PCR is a great gun but yiu woukd be greatly trading up on any of those guns. Personally Id go with the 686 all day long. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  13. Why'd you ruin that perfectly good guacamole? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  14. The only thing that settled it for me was trying the different sizes at the range. Personally I found the LG grip to give me enormously more control over 165 gr .40S&W. This was surprising to me because in just holding the gun, the SM and MD felt the most comfortable in hand.
  15. Man, all Ive got is three clear mayo jars for 9, 40, and 45. I guess yall shoot a lot more at a time than I do. My range outtings consist of 50 up to 200 rounds when Im comfy in powder, bullets, and primers.
  16. Ive been lugging a full size .40S&W with a light around in an IWB for a good long while. I conceal it comfortable. Do I need one of these small things? Ive heard nothing but good about them. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  17. If I have to use lethal force Im not going to use a knife. If I have to use a knife Im screwed anyway.
  18. Like they said, you can either get it repainted or you could just have it beadblasted and polished up. Or you can just give it to me and buy a new one. I dont mind the little bump. Thought about selling it?
