    HK VP40

    http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/HK-VP40-To-357-Sig-Conversion-Barrel-367p17373.htm   how bout a VP357  :pleased:
  4. That's very gracious of you to offer this type of event, are there any events like this planned in the near future? (we're tied up this weekend)
  5. (Rifle noob) Does an adjustable gas block favor a particular gas system, d.i. or piston? This has me thinking of putting together another rifle for her, something she'll enjoy shooting.
  6. ou812 thank you very much! We'll definitely check out those earmuffs by Honeywell. My wife suffers from tinnitus as well.
  7. No sir, not yet. Just moved from a townhouse to a house with a garage though and reloading is definitely coming. Very interesting option I haven't considered.
  8. This is definitely an option down the road. First will either be another 16" or maybe 18" ar. We both want to take an appleseed course together in the near future.
  9. 3m electronic muffs, I didn't think about it at the time, but I wonder if doubling up ear plugs and muffs would help any
  10. We were finally able to get out to Charlie's range in spring hill this morning so my wife could shoot my ar for the first time. She was really looking forward to it. But after 2 mags each she had had enough and walked away when I went to shoot. After we left she said not so much the noise but the concussion bothered her to the point she had to walk away. She has inner ear problems in one ear and it was really bothering her. I believe the best long term answer is a suppressor, insert devilish grin here, but in the mean time is there a different muzzle device that can help direct the blast forward? Currently I have a BCM mod 0 comp. Thanks
  11. Prayers sent for a speedy recovery

    New Sig

Very nice Sig! I was able to watch the sig rep at the nra show change grip modules on the 320 in less than a minute. Very versatile gun.

    H&K P30SK

I was able to handle one at the NRA event last weekend and it fit my hand much better than the P2000sk. I'm hoping to pick up one of the LEM versions up once they become available. I really liked that the grips resembled the VP9's stippling rather than the P30's, should make carrying more comfortable. And take it for what it's worth, the gentleman at the HK booth said the VP9sk isn't in development yet, but more P30/VP9 mags should be here soon :pleased:
  14. Wife and I just got home from day 2. We got there at 8 both yesterday and today and stayed all day yesterday and most of today. This was our first nra convention but definitely won't be our last! We had a great time! We both thought it was very well organized. We wound up paying the 20 and parking at the mcc and I'm glad we did. It was worth the extra $ to be able to go back and unload our swag and show pickups. I enjoyed handling all the NFA toys but the highlight for me was when my wife put a set of hearing/shooting aids in her ears and was able to hear clearly for the first time in many years. The most unexpected part of the show was how may people didn't win a Daniel Defense rifle simply because they didn't show up for the drawing! Already thinking of making plans for next years convention in Louisville.
  15. my wife and i will be there friday and saturday, hoping to attend some siminars as well

    HK VP9

If you've never installed them before they do require some fitting and some finesse. The rear sight is tapered towards the rear so you have to be careful not to twist the sight and damage it, been there done that. They are great sights though, I've got both a yellow set and orange set and my eyes pick up the orange set better. edit: will probably send the next set of for installation

    HK VP9

It's the first striker fired gun I've ever owned... and I love it! Very similar to HK's LEM which is what I carry. The VP just seems to be so effortlessly accurate. I've taken a few people from work to shoot on lunch breaks and they all have a smile on their faces after the first mag.
  18. Heard about this today on the radio, absolutely rediculous! How ironic is it that the school is named after a soldier.
  19. The wife and I haven't got ours yet, in the middle of moving though so they might have been forwarded to our new house. Is the Bridgestone arena hosting part of the convention?
  20. TDR, let me check on that in the morning before you order anything, pm on the way
