    Thin 9mm

My vote is for the Kahr PM9 or CM9. Great conceal carry guns, thin and reliable. I've had my PM9 for several years. This has been my keeper and my CC choice.
  2. I own a Glock 23 Gen3 RTF2 with Truglo ns and 3 mags. I also have a 357 Sig Lone Wolf barrel. I have a Model 33 Gen3 in 357 Sig and have a 9mm Lone Wolf barrel. So between these two guns I can shoot 3 calibers. One could get 9mm barrel for the Glock 23 and be able to shoot 2 calibers. The Glock 23 gives you more options than the Glock 19. You will need a Glock 19 mag. The Glock 23 will hold 9mm rds but tends to misfeed last 9mm rd in 40 mag.

    M1A or AR10 ?

You are swaying me toward AR10, since I've never had one in an AR. Who makes a good one that is not high priced and what is a good price range for one, for I've never really priced any?  What barrel length?

    M1A or AR10 ?

I've been wanting to get a long range rifle in 308. I've had a Garand with a 308 barrel and a Springfield M1A. I sadly sold both several years ago. I would like to get another M1A or AR10. I need opionions as to which is better. I feel the M1A is more accurate beyond 300yds but the AR10 would be easier to clean/maintain and lighter.
  5. Very good job!!!! You'll have to dulipcate some for sale. My PM9 could use one with J-hooks.

    RRA LAR-9

I just let my granddaughter (16) and grandson (18) put 100 rds thru my RRA LAR-9 today. They took turns shooting at bowling pins and then resetting them. Both were able to consistently hit a pin with each shot. On the last round (#100) had a high feed problem from mag, no problems before. They really enjoyed themselves and took photos to show mom and dad.
  7. I have both Glocks and M&P's. I have G23,G33, G36 and M&P 9, 9c and 45c. The M&P has better grip ergonomics. The Glock has fewer parts and the mags or less expensive and available everywhere. You can't go wrong with either!!!
  8. The Ruger LCR would be a better pick. I own a LCR357 and it has a good trigger, is light and easy to carry either IWB or OWB. The 38 spec in 125g hp bullet is good defense load. I carry 125 g Nyclad. The 125g ammo would have less recoil and you could practice with ammo and not real expensive.
  9. Welcome to TGO, I'm just down the road in Morrison.
  10. I was there and the line to get in lasted to about 12:00. Show was crowded and alot buying from dealers. About 2:00 pm crowd stsrted to decrease. I saw David and he was selling alot of powder, etc. I sold one M&P and wanted to buy a Kahr CW45 mag but $36.95 +tax, so I passed.
  11. Now there saying there was a possible 2nd suspect. How can 2 sick people kill 18 children, innocent adults are bad enough. God be with the parents and others affected. The News will push "Gun Control" issues.
  12. I shoot at least 50 rds per month thru my carry or house gun, most are FMJ not carry ammo.
  13. I've never tried Nitro 100NF, does it work in 9mm, 357 Sig, 40 SW also?  Accurate Powders does not list Nitro 100 for the 45 acp, only listed for 95g copper bullet in 9mm. I might have to try Accurate #2 or #5 again.
  14. I've tried many powders in 45 ACP, but I've not found one that is clean burning, usually alot of black residue. I've tried 231, Accurate #2 & #5 and currently Titegroup. All perform well, but dirty. Does anyone have a clean burning powder for this caliber?
  15. Is anyone planning on going this weekend? I need to pickup some 45 ACP 185g bullets for reloading and some PD 45 ACP ammo and maybe a new tumbler if price is right. I'll have a M&P 40c to trade or sale.
  16. My PM9 has been thru 300+ rounds with no issues. I guess I need to shoot some more 185g Hp, for I plan on carrying the Rem Golden Saber 185 g BJHP.
  17. I use Accurate #9 17g in 300g HP bullet and 20g in 240g HP bullet. I shoot these in my Ruger Super Redhawk 9.5" barrel. You should check reloading manual for a starter load for this powder and the bullet weight you want to use.
  18. I cleaned and oiled gun and put 55 more rds of 185g fmj and 185g Nosler hp reloads(all bullets are taper crimped). The hp did not require any slide assist as before. I did have one stovepipe on the shorter FMJ. Gun groups 2" or less with both loads. Kahr recommends 200 rds be fired prior to carry, is this a little excess if gun is feeding properly with regular HP load?
  19. Night sights do not have to be charged they have tritium rods that glow. I personally like TruGlo and TruDot better, and they are less expensive.
  20. I have the Ruger LCR 357 with the XS front sight. Nice carry gun, my back-up.
  21. I sold my 7 1/2" Super Redhawk in 454  to a TGO member in the early spring with reloading dies and then bought a 9 1/2" Super Redhawk in 44 mag. It is alot more plesant to shoot, rounds are cheaper, and has good knock-down power. When I was younger, I could take the heavier recoil. Good luck with your 454!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I shot an assortment of about 30rds thur it. Both the 185g and 230g FMJ were accurate and feed good. I tried some 185 g hp reloads and the first two mags I had to assist the slide going fully forward. Grouping was about 2". The third mag feed without any assist to back of slide. These 185g HP reloads were longer than the FMJ. I did not have any 200g hp to try. I'll check the 185g HP to see their OAL.  I need to put a couple of hundred rounds thru it before I decide to carry it. Any thoughts on the slide assist problem, or is this part of break-in?
  23. I picked up a CW45 in a trade. I like the feel of the gun and trigger pull. I haven't shot it yet, due to rain. It has the staked on front polymer sight, which if I keep I would like to replace with a ns. I've checked on internet, but can'nt find a ns for this model. Also extra mags are priced high thru Kahr. It's size/weight would make a good 45 ACP conceal carry. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for the CW45? thanks

    SIG P290?

I also carry the Kahr PM9 with TruGlo sights and purchased an extra mag for total of 3 mags. The CM9 is about $200 cheaper and has some of the same features. The CM9 has a different barrel (reg. rifling), one mag, plastic front sight. I have shot these and they are reliable and accurate 10 yds. The only problem with CM9 is finding night sights, due to the front sight. Good luck with your pick.
