We see this BS in our own state as well. The Republican leadership here is giving it to us so hard that I'm sure the Democrats are jealous.
-
I've called Senator John Thune's office as well as our TN Senators as well as the senators from another state I have property in to express my disgust. Will it do any good? Well, not calling sure won't. Remind Ms. Blackburn she wants to be our next governor (God help us) and we are sick of this BS federally & at the state level and are watching.

H.R. 1: One Big Beautiful Bill Act passes 215 to 214 with two Republicans voting against it, one Republican voting Present and two Republicans not voting. It includes the full version of the Hearing Protection Act but not the SHORT act. It is now off to the Senate so now we have to let them know we want this passed with the full version of the Hearing Protection Act, as well. Also, remember that Rep. David Kustoff was not only not our friend on this but he moved against us hard by trying to strip the Hearing Protection Act out of this early on.

I started a new post on this as tonight is it, from the way it looks. I know that none of us are holding our breath but we have a chance and who knows if we'll ever get another one. We've got Trump and we need to make some noise and make them uncomfortable just like he does. Take a few minutes and make a couple calls. It takes less time than voting. I realize you probably feel beat to hell, I know I do, but let them hear you. Below is info and a link to the GOA's short video on this. Tonight—before the 1AM Rules Committee markup—is the last chance to get both HPA & SHORT Act in the House version of the reconciliation bill! Taking action takes less than 60 seconds. Have you called yet? Tennessee Firearms Association (TFA) monthly meeting in tomorrow night (Tuesday May 20, 2025). It would be great to see some new faces there. The Guest Speaker is Trooper Joseph Grandstaff, Tennessee Highway Patrol. Trooper Grandstaff started shooting at young age hunting quail and deer with his family in McMinnville. Later, he began to train in West Tennessee in a monthly basis for the better part of 4 years. Once he joined THP, he was asked to join the ordinance dept at the training center part time. He attended a Firearm instructors’ course and also obtained his armorers certification . He is presently tasked with training the cadets as well as training the road troopers. He conducts the yearly qualification and all specialized shooting classes that are conducted in the 3rd district. You DO NOT have to be a TFA member to attend. Everyone is welcome and you are encouraged to bring guests. What gets me past any apprehension is remebering what I heard a speaker at the GOA convention say (I believe it was Brandon Herrera, and I am paraphrasing. If you're the person who says you'd defend your family and their rights to the end but you won't even vote or contact a politician, you are lying to me and yourself. Also, they'd have an office in my house, if the black SUV thing was a concern.

The Hearing Protection Act and the Short Act are making there way through the House Ways and Means Committee. The TFA and GOA have sent out info on this recently that you may have received. Well, looks like we have another Tennessee Republican throwing a wrench in the gears, again, Congressman David Kustoff from the 8th District (West Tennessee). Jared with Guns & Gadgets posted a new video on it this morning with the specifics of what is going on. Please give Congressman Kustoff a call at his Washington number at least and if you are in District 8, give one of the local offices a call for good measure. Jared explains the importance of this better than I could. • Washington Office - (202) 225-4714 • Jackson Office - (731) 423-4848 • Martin Office - (731) 412-1043 • Memphis Office - (901) 682-4422

I have seven empty 5lb protein powder containers that I want to get rid of. They are about 8" in diameter and 11" high. I have used other such containers to store my spent brass. Cleaning up around the place and realized I don't need these, so I thought I'd list them to see if anyone wanted them before I sent them to recycling. I am located in Nashville near the 100 Oaks Mall area (I-440 & I-65 - Home Depot, Modern Warriors) and can meet anywhere around the downtown core. Price: Free

April 2025 Meeting - Tuesday the 15th is the third Tuesday of the month and the Tennessee Firearms Association monthly meeting will be held again at the Hermitage Golden Corral. The Guest Speaker is Brent Taylor, State Senator for District 31, Shelby County. Senator Taylor is one of eight members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to which most Second Amendment related bills are assigned in the Senate and in which almost all of them were derailed this year. Senator Taylor, however, supported most of the ones that TFA was interested in. We are looking forward to hearing Senator Taylor's views and positions on Second Amendment issues and related topics. You DO NOT have to be a TFA member to attend. Everyone is welcome and you are encouraged to bring guests. All joking aside, that is some quality work your wearing. I hope it serves you well. Nice to treat ourselves once in a while.
-
Stylin'. If you wear that out in public, you'd better take a stick with you, as you going to need to keep the ladies off of you.
-
I can believe the dog shot him but I'll bet that a thorough investigation into the incident would find that the dog did it intentionally. Probably didn't treat a good boy like a good boy or was stingy with the treats.

Texas has a defense of property law that is even more broad than this, I believe and every legal eagle out there will tell you that you are not in a great place if you need to rely on it. Removing brandishing of a weapon, may be the most helpful thing in this. Summary from the FastDemocracy site: House Bill 856 amends various sections of the Tennessee Code Annotated related to the use of force, particularly concerning the justification for using deadly force. The bill introduces a new definition of "deadly force," clarifying that it refers to force intended to cause death or substantial risk of death, excluding the mere display or brandishing of a weapon. Additionally, it modifies the criteria under which a person can justify the use of deadly force, emphasizing the necessity of such force to prevent or terminate specific crimes, including property crimes and serious harm to animals. The bill also updates references to self-defense laws by including protection of property statutes, thereby broadening the legal framework for justifying the use of force. It removes certain existing language regarding the risk of causing death or serious bodily harm and replaces it with a more specific standard concerning the probability of causing substantial risk of death or extreme physical pain. Overall, these changes aim to clarify and expand the legal justifications for the use of force in Tennessee.

I have filled it out the form electronically on more than one dealers computer and they were all adamant that I had to complete it myself and that someone else can't be answering the questions for you. If you have a disability and need assistance, I can see the need. If they ask you every question, you answer and they them complete may pass scrutiny but I would think it would be questionable and i would not want to participate in the method.
