I buddy of mine recently acquired a CZ 100 as payment for a debt owed to him. He just really wants some cash. I know they weren't produced and imported for all that long, but what do you all think of them? Reliable? Accurate? Parts easy to find? What would a good buyers price be for one at probably 90-95%?

I carry anywhere I can, except for posted areas and work. In the handbook at work it is mentioned that one of the possible reasons for dismissal (permanently) is possession of a firearm without permission. I work at a "corporation" with 200+ employees. I plan on it, but I haven't got around to making mention to the President that I have a permit, and ask if it would be ok if I were to bring a firearm into the office and keep it secured. Anyone with any such experience in a similar situation?

Probably a month ago I took my wife to the land of unclaimed baggage in Scottsboro. Got back late that night. Guess from being tired I slipped and left my vehicle unlocked. Next morning we jumped in to go to church and I noticed that the cable that usually resided in my glove box connected to my iPod was pulled out and laying on the passenger seat (the cable is connected to the radio). That is when I noticed that my iPod would never see me again, nor I it. Her car door was a bit ajar too, but they didn't find anything in there I suppose. We live in what I consider a very good area downtime, however late at night I figure some punks were walking down the street checking all the car doors to see what they could find. Now I drive my wife crazy making sure everything is locked

Although I would love a Kadet kit and would love to have one someday, if I am going to spend what it costs to buy the kit I would much rather just have a dedicated firearm. That said if I ever see one of the kits used I may pick it up if it is a good price.

I honestly did not realize that the 22/45 is polymer framed. Dolomite, you say that Sig estimated 10K-15K on their Mosquito. To put things in perspective, what would you say one of these Rugers would probably last? Since the 22/45 is polymer framed, does that in any way affect its durability vs the Mark III? If I were to pickup one of the Mark III's, which model would probably be best suited for a suppressor?
-
I have shot but never owned a .22lr pistol. I have my eyes set right now on the Ruger rimfire pistols, especially the threaded 22/45. I would rather have the 10150 since it has the sights instead of just the rail. Long term I would be interested in a suppressor, that is why the threaded 22/45 appeals to me. I suppose I like the 22/44 over the Mark III simply because of the fire controls, but in no means am I ruling out the standard Mark III. Something that I am curious about the threaded 22/45 is whether the sights are easily usable with a suppressor installed. Are they high enough? I am open to many recommendations and it will probably be a few weeks to months away from being purchased, but what I am interested in are: Automatic Easily Suppressible Easily Upgradable (Aftermarket Internal Parts Support) Tried and True (Accurate and Reliable) I suppose I would be interested in upgrading some of the internals with aftermarket parts if they would improve trigger pull.

This is personally how I fear it may be done. Much like the assault on automatic weapons, first there would be a federal tax of some sort on guns. "Handguns are $50 per year and long guns are $100 per year", or something like that. At this point you would have to pay for each of your guns, based on serial numbers, for them to be "legal". At first many people would be possibly be open to this. It could start out cheap, like $100 per year for as many guns as you want. People would say "$100 is a cheap price to pay for you security", just like people say "$115 for a permit plus a class is a cheap price to pay for your security". After the government got people in the mindset of paying that tax, they could easily raise it, or restrict it. This is what they did with automatic weapons essentially. Any weapon in public that had not been taxed would be considered contraband. Obviously this would not work very well in many places, such as the south, but after conditioning the current school kids nationwide, it could work. Instead of "collecting", they would simply be gradually wait for people to turn them in since they couldn't pay the tax. When facing either a very expensive tax to keep Grandfather's AR-15, or risk jail time by keeping it without the tax, I think that most of the conditioned public would just turn it in to avoid the worries. The confiscation and elimination of the armed public is based upon one thing: Public perception of firearms.

A few months ago I bought one of those $20 for $40 deals, thus I have $40 to spend on Brownells. Since I cannot really make a bulk ammo purchase or anything like that, what should I buy? I'm looking for any intriguing odds and ends here. What's the most interesting, useable peace of equipment that I could buy? I'm willing to throw in a few extra bucks if the item is good enough.

I decided to browse amongst other states' pages on gunlistings.org just to see what sorta things were being sold, and low and behold, all the way in Arizona I found a very interesting rifle! http://www.gunlistings.org/arizona-gun-classifieds/phoenix/all/86719/calico_liberty_100_9mm_carbine

Selling my Savage MK II .22lr for a Marlin XT-22TSR?
GlockSpock replied to GlockSpock's topic in Long Guns
It is a newer one with the accutrigger and synthetic stock, stainless. I suppose it'll be worth whatever someone pays for it, if I can get within $40 of the final price I may just do it! -
I bought a Savage MK II a while back just before Christmas. However I really wanted the Marlin listed above. Stainless, tube fed, bolt action, that is what I was looking for! But I had to settle for the Savage since I could not find the Marlin anywhere. Now on CheaperThanDirt, you can get the Marlin for $220 + shipping, or from BudsGunShop for $239 including shipping. If I could handle the Marlin I could make my decision myself, but what do you all think? Also, the Savage is very close to mint condition, only 300 rounds down the barrel. I should be able to sell it and have a bit of cash left over if I buy the Marlin. Input?

Well like I said, months ago I was quoted around $150. However last week I was quoted around $250. Probably will join simply because I live very close to VO.
-
Well, I was told the exact same thing about a week ago. Unfortunately they told me it was supposed to be around $150 a year, but that was 6 months ago. I guess the redid their estimate:( Still plan on joining.

I agree. If the opportunity cost of taking the class is taking a day off work without pay, then you could arguably equate a monetary cost. However, I took my class on the weekend, my only opportunity cost was 1 hour of sleep, and whatever else I could and would have done in that time period. Since I don't work weekends, the opportunity cost was low. Add a bit for gas and the class, about $100 plus sleep. Then the fee for the permit, a bit over $200 total. I spent more on my holster.

(Carry?) Fall Creek Falls Campground
GlockSpock replied to GlockSpock's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Ok. Thank you very much for this information. I believe this answer all my questions. To sum this weekend up: Even if I see a general posting at the campground, it is ok for me to carry? -

8. It is a violation of the law to carry where it is posted with this sign: PURSUANT TO § 39-17-1359, THE OWNER/OPERATOR OF THIS PROPERTY HAS BANNED WEAPONS ON THIS PROPERTY, OR WITHIN THIS BUILDING OR THIS PORTION OF THIS BUILDING. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS PROHIBITION IS PUNISHABLE AS A CRIMINAL ACT UNDER STATE LAW AND MAY SUBJECT THE VIOLATOR TO A FINE OF NOT MORE THAN FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500). The wording must be substantially similar. A sign with a picture of a handgun with a slash through it does not count. http://www.usacarry.com/tennessee_concealed_carry_permit_information.html Going to play it safe in this account and honor the slashed gun signs, but this is so confusing and there is so much misinformation floating around. Constitutional Carry FTW! -

Signage is something I would like clarification on a well. I read something today that suggested a mere "slash through gun sticker" is not adequate posting and carries no legal weight for a business. What is required in the state of TN for a business to properly restrict carry? -
Trying to figure out if carry is accepted here. The whole carrying in parks thing is confusing. Something about if it is posted it is still ok unless it is posted in a specific way?
-
I was under the impression (from the Lead Mine Gun Club) that the mall was off limits. However they don't post many of the entrances, I believe the only one that is "posted" is the front. All that is posted at the front is a "rule". Should be good to go shouldn't I?

Should this guy be charged?

Ferrel is the guy being charged with the crimes against the woman. You are speaking of Jones. -
I agree that bumper stickers mostly are unwanted by me, but if others wanted to buy them from me then that would be awesome. So for those of you interested, what sorta prices would you expect to pay? Just talking about the typical square ones with witty text. Also, if I do decide on attempting this, I would be willing to give anyone a free bumper sticker if they have me some sort of witty thing to put on them that I decide to order some of.

Professional meaning quality, or professional meaning a lot of money invested in graphic design?
