  1. Are you sure on those number of people per square ft? That would work out to 10+ people per acre even on a vegan diet. 15 if supplemented. Our current garden is well maintained and grown with the knowledge and care of 150+ yrs of East TN farming tradition on home land, and if it was less than the three acres we have now we wouldn't be completely self sufficient on food. We have 8 adults and four kids, and from our experince Id say 4-5 people an acre is gonna be more realistic if your knowledgeable, and do alot of canning with rabbits, chickens, hogs, cows, and wild game to supplement. A person just starting out would be lucky to support more than one or two people per acre without prior knowledge and setup.
  2. I'm am a carrying person, and would give the shirt off my back to someone in need. Now if mine or my familys survival was at stake I would turn people away, and if needed, kill without consiensce if need be to help my family survive. We have 8 adults and 4 kids in our group everyone has grown up farming, hunting, raising live stock, etc. We have 40 acres under fence with limited access where our houses are, plu another 120 acres of well taken care of fenced property less than a mile away, also limited access gated and fenced, with manual wells buckets, springs, and natural as well as family grown food aources. I gotta a good feeling we can survive without anyone elses help.
  3. I'm a blacksmith, farmer, fabricator, and have military experince. My dad is also a smith, farmer, logger, and farm raised man who knows alot about everything, or so it seems. Weather grow a large 3 acre garden using draft animals, not tractors. We have land to support more livestock than our current 4 or 5 head of cattle, plus we could triple our garden and output very easily. We don't stock pile, my family has been and would be self sufficent without any outside help what so ever. We have forty acres of good land that is easily defended by the 4 grown men in my family Oh and to anyone who plans to "bug out" to the mountains. As Ive told countless other preppers. Remeber those mountains are already occupied, and we have one of the most clanish cultures in the world in Appalachia. Strangers will not be welcomed, so make sure to plan for a spefic area, either unoccipyed or owned.
  4. Not fighting back my ass. They did the right thing, and I hope the scumbag stays in jail awhile this time

    VEPR!!!!

I would love to order up a 16.5" 308 and about 10 of those 20 rd magazines. Put on a decent sight set up, and have a nice "home defense" rifle for the end of the world.

    VEPR!!!!

Thats beautiful. Would make an awesome budget semi-auto camp rifle
  7. Does it have to be a baton specific class? We had a lot of baton stuff in the MCMAP program in the USMC and I have my certificates thats why i ask.
  8. Yeah Gemma needs to die, and Clay. Tig shoulda died last night
  9. Shoulda been Tig. Sutter is trying to drag out to many story lines. Tig dies, end of story. Make it cool with pope, this entire #### storm is forgotten.
  10. Well Im done after what just went down with Opie. Spoiler alert I csn't believe they killed Opie. Thats such bull####. I won't be watching anymore
  11. Calm down, think, and don't do anything without a precise plan in place. Action without thought or planning is much more likely to go wrong, put you in an even worse situation
  12. For sure. Alot of my knowledge is stuff I learned in the Marines. And Ill be carrying my old bolt action .22 and military sleeping bag. I don't have a bug out bag, Ill be bugging in on my land if it hits the fan, but Ill bring my normal woods gear.
  13. I'm down. We can use my old mans place. 45 acres, but it hooks into 72,000 plus acres. I know the terrian pretty good, good enough not to get totally lost anyways. And I could use the workout from a good hump. We got the primitive camp coming up oct. 20th. You wanna go before or after that?
  14. Thats a lil to close to home. I'm glad I live in the country away from this stuff. Anyone who is in a city had better be vigliant at all times.
  15. I really enjoyed the T58 in the CH-46. Phrogs were an endangered species. I was one of the last T58 CDIs in the Marines. The T700 always struck me as a stick together lego engine.
  16. I've searched sears several times the last couple of years. I don't know why, but all of a sudden these jackets seem damn near impossible to find. I had a nice Dickies mechanic jacket I bought at walmart in 07 that got stolen, and I haven't seen them there since.
  17. How many more idiots will it take? Was he looking down the barrel and pulled the trigger or ???? The only time I've looked down a barrel from the muzzel end, the barrel was no longer attached to the action, and did not have a bolt in it. Whats it gonna take before people start obeying the 4 basic rules of gun safety. 1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded. 2. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot. 3. Keep finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire. 4. Keep weapon on safe until you intend to fire
  18. I know a lot of us have very varied experiences. I think it would be cool if you guys would post a couple pictures from your current or former jobs so we can get an idea of who does what. I'll start From my previous job as a T58 engine mechanic for the USMC. Taken in the Philippines circa late 2008 From my current job as a Heavy and light duty diesel mechanic. Building the bottom end on an ISX cummins
  19. I need a new jacket as all my old #### is either worn out, or doesnt fit right anymore. I prefer mechanics/Eisenhower style jackets. I'm also wondering if there is a place in the Oak Ridge/Knoxville/Clinton area who could embroider one after I get it. Does anyone local still carry them, or am I gonna have to order offline? Anyone seen any good deals online? Thanks
  20. I think it has a lot to do with what happened at south clinton pawn. It sucks, but they dont want an employee shot hy some physcho
  21. Jesus. A political thread is one thing, but this nothing but a youtube playlist, predicting doomsday, riots and the end of the world.
  22. Ive always heard it is suppoaed to be separate from the gun totally. Like gun in the window rack, and ammo in the glove box. Also keep in mind we dont have concealed carry permits, we have handgun carry permits. I know it seems stupid, but I know some states you can carry open with no permit, only need one if you carry concealed.
  23. If you have a handgun carry permit you can carry any long arm loaded, but can not have a round in the chamber unless in fear of your life.
  24. This is very true. We are always Marines, not Soliders lol. And I say that with utmost respect to all branchs. As far as Marines not being able to make a difference, it is obvious he knows nothing of Marines. Having done 5 years in I can tell you a well equipped platoon of Marines would have stopped this event in its tracks.
