Bout as big as they are known to get; hell, you might have had the world's record there, could maybe have made a buck some way or another on it! - OS This was about 15 years ago. I was only 10 or so. We might have a Polaroid of it somewhere, Ill ask. Far as I know he just threw it over the hill and went back cutting firewood. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

By the end of the night he will be hammered, broke and married to a 40 yr old country music wanna be who is only stripping until she gets her big break. Tapatalk ate my spelling. -
I poked and prodded it for a few minutes and it seemed very docile. A blacksnake is a whole lot more aggressive. Either way I do not want it around because of my animals. We already spend a metric ton of money on them, don't need another bill. I have seen them bigger but they are a rare sight. I see copperheads 5 to 1 to rattlesnakes. Biggest one I've seen my old man killex by the chicken coop a few years ago. Hes 5'10 and cold hold it by the tail straight out, and its head and a good 6" of body drug the ground. Big bastard. The big ones seem to stay out of sight for the most part. Ive hold old timers talk about digging some huge ones out of rock bars that had probably been there for years when they where mining and logging. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

same place where we went fishing? It certainly looked " snakey"... sent barefoot from the hills of Tennessee No, the field up by my dads. I won't tell you how many copperheads came out of that burn pile right next to where we fished when we set fire to it last year.... Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Run into lots of snakes out my way. Bailed up a 4 foot rattler last year in that same field where we had the shoot a few months back. I get probably 6-8 copperheads and 2-4 rattlers every year between my place and my dads. And thats in the immediate vicinity, I dont go looking. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Ummmm. Lol estimated 8" long without tang. Maybe 3/4 to 1" wide at the widest? Started as a 3/16th inch thick at the spine. Still bigger than an 1/8th at the spine Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I really do need a Makers Mark, I might make one someday. And yes I forged it all out then just ground out the files marks and the forge finish. If you took off the handles, the file teeth are still underneath for better adhesion on the epoxy. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Thanks man. I've begun to experiment with different styles a lot here lately, and your guys responses help me decide if my designs are good or bad.

I made this one today. Its a little outside my norm, but I plan to make more this style, with the blade ground down, instead of a forge finish. It was designed with being a great hiking, fishing, hunting, and general woodsmans knife. Completely ground to keep it clean for food prep, light enough to make it easy to carry, but sturdy enough for camp chores. 1095 steel from a Nicholson File, unknown wood for handle. Full tang, 5.5" blade, 4.5" handle, 10" overall. Full flat grind, with a razor edge. Lasik it out for me right now due to cost. I keep several spare boxes of contacts on hand as well as 2 sets of glasses. I also wear boogie regulat9r goggles and have a spare set to keep my eyes safe. I am legally blind without prescription glasses. My vision is -7.5 in each eye. Btw the military doesn't allow lasik for some postionsthey use a different procedure called PRK due to the risk of lasik failing under extreme conditions, so something to think about. Some new stuff from the forge (New knives added 8/6/13)
Spots replied to Spots's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Well today was another productive day. Tried a couple of new designs, let me know what you think. Chisel tipped sharpened pry bar. This is a design that is geared towards ultimate tip strength and utility. Extremely hard to get the grinds right the way my little grinder is setup, thought the lighting make them look worse then they are.. I may still do more to this one. 5160, 5/16th" thick. 3" blade, 6.75 overall length. Still needs the handle wrapped. 5/16th 5160 steel. 5.5" blade, 10.5" overall. Some new stuff from the forge (New knives added 8/6/13)

Thanks for all the compliments guys. It feels good to be forging again, work has been pretty overwhelming here lately, so a chance to beat steel is nice. A week straight is even better. Tapatalk ate my spelling. -
I spent some time in the forge today, Ill be there all week getting ready for the upcoming gunshow. I made two small edc fixed blades. These were designed to be small utility knives, and if push comes to shove, work as self defense shivs. Both are made from 1095 Nichlson files. #1 2.75" blade, 5.5" overall. Flat ground, hand forged. Razor sharp edge, paracord wrapped handle ] #2 2.5" blade, 5.25" overall. Flat ground, hand forged. Razor sharp, paracord wrapped handle Then I decided to do something a little different. I didn't know if I was gonna like this or not. It has some hard angles, but I think I definitely like it. 5160 steel, hand forged. Flat ground. 6.5" blade, 11.25" overall. 5/16th thick. Paracord wrapped handle

Yeah shame on that guy. How dare we practice our second amendment rights? Until more people stop giving a shit what the sheep think, and care more about keeping their rights, then we will continue tonlose our rights at an astonishing rate. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Stop listening to doctors. How many old doctors do you know... My Papaw and dad ate basically anything they wanted. Salt pork, beef, everything cooked in lard, etc. They stayed lean and were/are ox strong because of hard work. Diet has only become a big concern in the last 25 years, before that hard work and home grown food kept people healthy. Not to mention just being tough SOB's Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Ive been to Market place twice. Good food, but that has to be the sorriest service Ive ever received at a resturant. Both times... Tapatalk ate my spelling.

They are made in TN. I had a chest rig by those guys. Great gear, and tough as hell. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Your wife is very pretty :) now go shave. .you look like a ... lumberjack I know your not picking on beards in here. I smell discrimination. ... This morning had two fresh peaches and a bowl of blackberries, both picked last night. Black coffee, home made biscuits, 3 fresh fried hen eggs gathered yesterday, home cured salt pork, homemade sausage gravy, and 2 home made pancakes. Yes I love big southern breakfast, it keeps me going all day. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

We have 4 peach trees, couple different varieties. Lots of domestic blackberries (no thorns), strawberries, 4 apple trees of different kinds, some cherry trees, and a plum tree. The orchard is finally starting to bear well after a few years and its so worth it. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
-
I just tried and got the same thing
-
The work is hot and hard. But the fruits of the labor are rewarding. This is a small sample of the bushel of peaches I picked today. Also got a quart of domestic blackberries. The freezer will be full this year. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Hes on vacation this week but will be available next week. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
