Its a good book isn't it. You should read Contact: a tactical manual by the same author. I've read the first two of "Holding their own" series this week. Bought #1 monday, finished it and bought number #2 tuesday. Just ordered number 3 today. Great series and the man and women interact like me and my wife which makes it a better read also. Thats a good idea caster, never thought of that. You hit the nail on the head about doing it all yourself. I make, build, and do everything possible myself. I figure the more I learn the more I will know in a bad spot and the more money I save. So far I'm a blacksmith, farmer, I can do carpentry, lay block and brick, I'm an ASE mechanic, wood worker, hunter, helicopter mechanic and air crew and a Marine. I"ve never balieved in paying someone else to do something I can do myself, and I don't buy anything I can make. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

No prob. Its a little more expensive and may be a little bigger than you need, but you'll never need another saw. It'll cut anything you wanna cut, rips good. Little heavy but enough low end power to rip all day without burning out Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

Women are, and have been allowed in almost all roles of the military that wasn't direct action ground troops for years. As far as age. Most young Marines I know and knew were more responsible than 75% of the population. We are a lot of things, cannon fodder is not one of them. Believe it or not I had self preservation skills as a young Marine. We just do what must be done to get our job done. And as your body ages it fatigues easier and becomes more prone to injury. Military is mostly a young mans game, for good reason. We follow orders without question because its whats needed to complete our mission. I do agree with lighter gear. But body armor has saved countless lives. Ammo is a neccesity as is water. So there just isn't many placed to cut weight. Body armor could be lighter, but I dont know many Marines who carry anything thats not necessary. Already Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

What are some weird, obscure things you guys know that may help in a bad situation? This one is becoming more well known, but tampons are amazing first add tools. As well as having dozens of uses. Heres the newest one I learned. A crayon will burn like a candle for about 30 minutes. So I picked up a couple boxes of crayons tonhave emergency light and another flammable thing for fire starting. Since we (The Marines) are devil dogs, I vote that MARSOC be renamed the Pink Poodles. I am not a feminist. I believe women should have every right and freedom a man does. But they are made different, both emotionally and physically. What happens when your on a mission and its that time of the month? And I have yet to meet more than a couple of women who could hump my pack and full combat load when I was in and it not take an irreversible tole on their bodies if they could even pick up and suit up in my gear and still move. Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
Spots replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Liberal idiot quote from comments " Such a false sense security. Exactly how would a person carrying a weapon keep some one else from taking the gun from them.? To carry a weapon should require one to know martial art" Gunfighting rule. Make your attacker advance through a hail of bullets. He might kill me with my own gun, but hes going to have to beat me to death with it because it'll be empty. A gun is an equalizer. An 80 yr old woman doesn't have the strength or health to fight. Thats why she carries a firearm. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere -

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yeah we have a full blacksmith shop and a full wood working shop with lathe, band saw, scroll saw, routers, planer, radial arm saw, cut off saw and lots of hand tools. We are very do it yourself. Blacksmithing, wood working, farming, house and cabin building, you name it lol. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

Went up to my old mans today for fathers day. We spent some time in the wood shop instead of the forge. Turned out a nice lil club/ zombie thumper. This is a prototype, the next one will be dryed oak or hickory with a blade out the side. Chucking in the lathe Turning down in steps Finished product. 30" long. 3.5" diameter at the head, 1.25" at the handle Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

Ill probably go with krylon then. The complex small patterns look great up close, but blob out at any distance. I mean stuff like kryptek typhoon, etc. I like the ones above Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
