  1. This is pretty much a get rid of em exercise for my friend on whose land they have made their home. I'm definitely going to use bait and hunting them at night. If they have moved on that would be good news but I know they haven't. Most evenings they come right up to the deck of the house on the property when they are there on weekends.
  2. I am looking at trading for one of these at a trade value around $700- $750 . Is this a fair trade value? Please School me on this rifle! thanks this one: http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/ak-47-milled-under-folder-detail.html?Itemid=0
  3. I had a gunsmith remove the magazine disconnect. It's like a whole new gun. Amazing difference!
  4. You are a very lucky man sir!!
  5. Hey all, thanks so much for the opinions. VERY helpful. That's why this is the best forum I've ever belonged to because it has the best people. I'll let you know which one I get and post pics.   thanks again!
  6. Just started Hog hunting for a friend on her 60 acre property in Walden TN. Scouted the area yesterday during the day. didn't see any hogs but I've identified all the game trails and saw lots of rooting, skat, tracks, tree rub etc. I figure the hogs were hunkered down higher up on one of the many ridges too steep for me to climb. I've never hunted them before (I'm mainly a deer, coyote and rabbit hunter). I got some ideas from researching but its always good to get some advice from those who have experience. Any tips would be appreciated.   thanks
  7. Hi all, I'm looking at a Springfield Loaded Stainless or a Ruger SR 1911 also in stainless. Any opinions would be welcomed as to which is the better pistol for the money. thanks in advance! Winner: Springfield Loaded: Picked it up today
  8. Excellent choice!! I regret trading mine..... It was in 40SW also and never had any issues at all. I mostly shot 165 grain ammo out of it....never caught the 357 sig bug as I felt the cost of it was just too high. I also would recommend the hogue grips for it.
  9. always good to see these stories   http://www.aol.com/article/2016/02/26/woman-66-fights-off-robber/21319359/?intcmp=hplnws
  10. I'm on the never seen one list until now & frankly, I'm amazed at the cracked mags..but I don't drop them on the ground much...maybe Glock competitive shooters will see more
  11. mag safety is still operational. Still deciding if I should remove it or not?
  12. Used pistol Manufacture year was 2000 - picked this up today and it's my first Hi-Power. I really like the bluing and there is not a scratch or blemish to be found. It appears to have been shot very little so much so that internals look new as well. Came with just one mag and I ordered another today. I don't have a trigger gauge to tell me lbs, but this trigger is very smooth and crisp and feels the 5-6 lb range. I'll post a range report next week when I can get to the range. Cheers!
  13. This pic is not mine. Mine is bone stock except for a slight amount of relief under the trigger guard. That was a minor mod but it helped a lot as I have medium size hands. That said, its still a fat grip and I'm thinking of doing a DIY grip mod for better purchase on the gun. I came across this mod on "The Truth About Guns"...would you do it if you thought you were going to keep the gun? I've had the Gen 3 30 since 2008. Another thought is just sell it and get the SF/S version? Link: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/07/john-suttie/big-bore-brick/
  14. Hi all. I've been looking for a truck/Jeep gun and came across a Stoeger Cougar 9MM and a S&W SDVE 9MM both at Academy for $299 so the price is right. Any opinions on which of these two you would select for the intended purpose? I do not intend to use either pistol as a concealed carry piece but as a backup only. Both feel good in the hand and I'm leaning toward the Cougar but am looking for your suggestions.    Thanks in advance!
  15. This guy has systematically divided, chided, ridiculed, demeaned, weakened, robbed, lied, and screwed our beloved country over from the day he was first sworn in. When he wasn't doing that he was just incompetent, scheming, arrogant, narcissistic, and unpatriotic. I know I'm forgetting something....help me out here!
  16. another vote for the Timney trigger. Can't be beat.  I put the Nikon 223 scope on it and it's great for my old eyes out to 300 yards. Hbar profile barrel, Dragons Head style muzzle brake , Aero Precision carbine upper, Palmetto lower, Magpul furniture - thinking of changing but its cheap so I don't worry about babying it.  Good luck with your build!
  17. ATF guidance on who qualifies as a firearms dealer Just saw this as put out by the ATF on who qualifies as a dealer. This is a web pdf file and can be downloaded here:   http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/01/05/atf-guidance-on-who-qualifies-as-firearms-dealer.html?intcmp=hpbt1
  18. by the way, the mag-guts kits are very reliable shot hundreds of rounds and no hicups
  19. Of the two choices I would go with the SR9C. I prefer the Glock 26 over the 27 as I can shoot better with it. I've carried the Shield for the last couple years and I like it better than any of the other choices for a 9MM.
  20. For what it's worth, I've owned both and prefer the shield. It's much thinner and carries better (for me). Both are excellent and I shoot both very well. Reliability is great on both -  but for the size, weight and bulk difference the Shield is my choice.    Also capacity difference is minimal as I bought two of these mag-guts kits to increase my mag capacity to 8+1 and 9 +1   http://magguts.com/shop/smith-wesson/smith-wesson-shield
  21. I shoot them all but recently I've been looking into underwood ammo and bought some of their 40SW gold dot 165 grain bonded. At 1200 fps and 568 ft pounds of energy it is smoking hot out of my Steyr M40A1. But each of my self defense guns has a purpose and I use 9MM. 40SW 45ACP & 357 Magnum calibers in handguns. Like to feel that I'm an equal opportunity shooter!  :pleased:
  22. I've switched to Brownells, Numrich and some others for a similar issue with Midway.
