  1. I had not thought of that, obviously. I will check that out. I hope its that easy. Thank you gents!
  2. I have a question for the AR experts. First off I'm an AK guy, its simple, rugged and reliable. I have ventured into the AR realm and have run into something troubling that I can't figure out. I took in an AR in trade, Aero Precision, and it cycled by hand, unloaded just fine. Nice buffer tension, snappy detents and the bolt went home with a satisfying thunk. I loaded up a magazine, inserted , pulled the charging handle, released and....... the carrier would not go into battery. I pushed the forward assist and it went in with some effort. I decided to check it. The issue arose when I tried to eject the live round by hand. It was stuck. I had to remove the upper and pry the bolt carrier to the rear. It was jammed in good. The bolt lugs would not rotate unless I physically pried the carrier back...it ejected out on its own. I almost took a rubber mallet to the charging handle to get the carrier to move, that's how stuck it was. The rifle is pristine, no fouling or wear marks, that's the reason I accepted it in trade. Is it a headspace issue? Does it need a break in period? I have not fired it because of the forward assist being used on the first fed round. I know is sounds silly but I'm paranoid with any weapon that I'm not familiar with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  10. SMAUG waiting for Bilbo......preciousssssss
  11. This is the conundrum with my BIL. The ever fluctuating rules of the ATF. My point was, as Rizzo stated, the lower receiver must go through a FFL, online or in person. My BIL lives in Tennessee now but he is not Southern. I plan on taking him to Bud's and let those gents "educate" him and the to the Knoxville show this weekend. You can lead a horse to water... but it says nothing about a jask*ss. Thank you, gentleman for your responses. Now to get that $50 from him.
  12. When home building an AR rifle, which part must go through an FFL when bought online? A) the upper receiver B) the lower receiver C) Both D) Neither I have $50 riding on the answer with my smart *ss brother in law. I need an unbiased answer and reason for the FFL transfer to satisfy him and take his money. A proof source would be helpful as well. Thank you gents.

  15. Took the wife Saturday afternoon, $12 apiece to get in, a few vendors, very few traders except for the Nazi memorabilia and China knives. We haven't been to a gun show in years and won't be going back anytime soon. Lots of surplus. rusted crap too. meh.....
  16. It's too cold in Wisconsin in the winter to be protesting over something you're getting bussed in and paid for......just sayin
  17. Give her time and kindness, she will come around. Her past is unknown to you and her future is unknown to her. Be patient and consistent and her trust in you show itself. Her actions, as you have described, are her way of checking you out since you don't know what kind of damage an inbred, brain dead, idjit has done to her. You have the beginnings of a wonderful partnership in her. God sent you a blessing in fur!
  18. Years ago I had a Taurus 455 wheel gun in .45ACP That thing would never get through a full cylinder before locking up. I do like the .45 ACP in a wheel gun, nice novelty, but that Taurus never worked correctly. My gunsmith bought it off me and worked on it then "lost it overboard" on a fishing trip. He no longer works on Taurus at all.
  19. Very pro gun....
  20. Metal and wood, you know it's good.
  21. Seasoned with time and experience. Salt and pepper just stayed on my hair, as far as the Cajun... let's just say that only appears when required. I may be a dinosaur but I'm not a fossil yet. Good going Bob.!
  22. NEVER underestimate a determined seasoned adult.
  23. My Dad was a Nike shooter. Zeus, Ajax Herc, Pershings and such. He also let loose some Hawks as well. From White Sands to the Black Forest with 2 stops in The Damn Nam. After he retired out of the Army, he went to work for the Navy as a civvie contractor in the Bahamas, a real tough duty station. He passed a few years back and I sure miss my Old Man. GO ARMY!
