lol they're great.
-
well Dan, it's new owner certainly loves it.

nice find mike. and a random question, cause I see it on that gun. Why are some AK barrels sliced off diagonally at the muzzle? that's the best way I can describe it lol.
-
wow, I certainly coudn't do that. but partly because my vision sucks and I need new contacts....yeah, thats the only reason. or excuse lol. and VK's right, nice gun.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what do you guys mean 'tri cities'? I gather it's east TN past knoxville or something??
-
Where's the Pope gun show??? If it's in middle TN I'd go next time it's around.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist Oh, and the P-11 is zero fun at the range. It's great for its intended purpose - an easily concealable pocket gun that means business if some unsavory character gets a bit to close.

How long before loaded mags' springs fail?
fizik replied to fizik's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Yeah, I see what you mean. I've never shot a pistol with a break I couldn't anticipate after putting a few mags through it. I just keep it as smooth and even as I can with the glock, and it outshoots me every day. as for barrel length, the model I've got has a 4.6" barrel which is as good as the one with a 5" and way better than the 3-4.5" ones I've got. But it's good to hear, that gives me an idea of what to notice carefully when shooting a new gun. Thanks -
How long before loaded mags' springs fail?

Thanks for the detailed post mugster. One other question, what do you mean about the trigger? Is it the break? Where it pulls back nicely then stops and cracks at the break point so that it's not spuer smooth? -
Nice! As soon as I get my new car I'm installing something like that.

I finally got the chance to fondle one of these at a shop the other day. I can't comment on how it shoots or anything, but as a Glock is my usual gun, I love the feel of it in my hands. I also like how slim the grip feels compared to a G21sf. as for concealability, I'm a smallish guy (5'10" 155lbs) I could conceal it. I may have to go up a half size, but to hide the G21 I've gotta go up a full size dress shirt and from a s/m to an m/l t'shirt, depending on fit. If you're bigger than me, concealability shouldn't be a problem if you're okay carrying big guns.

Loki... Unfortunately much of the American populace is that stupid and will vote on nonsense, lies, or irrelevant facts.
-
wait, what do you mean talking about stripper clips??? It sounds like you're saying some semi handguns are loaded with stripper clips????? maybe I've missed something big, but i can't think of anything other than some rifles that can take strippers (strippers...I could take 'em though:p). What does that have to do with being an XD vs. XDM, tactical vs. service, .45 vs. .40???

Poll out today - first one showing McCain leading
fizik replied to BigPoppa's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, they both suck. In different ways, they scare me to death. I don't know what to do other than look for the lesser of two evils. I would vote for a particular third party candidate, but I'm afraid my vote may be permitting the greater evil to win. Just like every election I've seen in my life. -
This would have a lot more weight with sources and references. Otherwise it's just accusation. Even though I hate the guy I won't spread 'facts' that I don't see to be true. They seem quite possible, but I can't use that to convince anybody who doesn't believe it already.
-
Yeah, I was in the gun shop today and asked a bit about the XDm. It's only in .40 right now, but it feels great in my hands.

This and other reasons are why I'm getting every gun I see as potentially coming under scrutiny that I can. Most of those I want to buy from individuals, with a bill of sale at most - I don't want any part of some registry so they can snatch all my guns. They would get enough of them already when getting records of sales from FFLs - at this moment I have nine that they would like to take. I'd rather them not even know about the rest. This **** is scary as anything I've seen in my life, I'm hoping no one on the Supreme court resigns or dies, because it's relatively balanced and reasonable now. If Obama got his picks in, plus his Attorney General, we'd be in for hell. If this really goes bad, I would understand another Civil War, or at least Militias banding together - this is why we rebelled and broke from England over two hundred years ago, and look at us now, we're in worse shape than they were already, and no one cares. Hopefully I'm being a bit extreme, but it's feasible. And I'll admit, I've been a civil libertarian since middle school, generally I'm conservative, at some times I support the liberals in society - but I've really lost any faith in them, and distrust the whole of American government. Now I'll be on some watch list as some uber-radical anti government type...Yay PATRIOT act!!

This kind of person should go back and read some Thoreau. Apparently they dropped out of school before it was taught. Even the essay On Self Reliance is only a few pages, it's not like I'm suggesting a whole book or something. That sense of entitlement just kills me. And it's not just the people on government handouts. It's also the wealthy families with kids who depend on their parents for everything (my own brother is a great example, as much as I hate to say it). It's all an "I deserve it." attitude. It's unbelievable how tolerant society is of such nonsense.

BREAKING: Pakistani govt. Troops "invade" AQ badlands
fizik replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Hell Yeah! Finally Pakistan does something I'm okay with. But I hope like hell they don't get Obama before we do...er, Osama. They better not make us look like idiots for not finding him. If they do, I'm sure it's all a set up. -
Nah, not yet nightrunner. it's been put on the backburner for an EBR. That would work quite well though .

Well damn, I didnt realize they were that serious about it...jail? I was thinking it might be a fine, which I'm sure the neighbors would throw in for. Well that really throws a brick through my idea. And animal control won't do anything - I thought this was THEIR responsibility (Here I am blaming someone else for something I could fix...except they tell me I can't fix it.) Yeah, I'll pass the buck on shooting 'em, but I'll try to come up with something creative. And I'll be on the phone berating them and whining about cats being mangled and crying out for help Hmm, anyone else have any creative (maybe even hypothetical) ideas to get rid of them?

This doesn't quite fit in the coyote hunting thread, so here we go: I live in Davidson county, right on the Williamson county line, but technically within city limits. The neighborhood is surrounded by forest, with the treeline extending up on my property. We've had problems with coyotes in the past few years, but it's always been confined to the woods and domestic animals who wander too far out. Lately, there have been increasing numbers of coyote attacks; they're coming out of the woods into yards and the street killing dogs, cats and such, and scaring plenty of people. A couple nights ago I woke up to coyote howls and squealing sounds of a dying dog. Last night, about two in the morning, I went out for a smoke and found at least two coyotes in my yard, not fifty feet away from the house. I drew my gun and considered killing them right there, or at least scaring or wounding one of them. Then I considered how it would look to have a carcass on my lawn in the morning or something. So now I'm wanting to sort some things out. I believe it's technically illegal to discharge a firearm within Nashville city limits, does anyone know for sure? Even if it's illegal I have shot .22s to get rid of woodpeckers tearing up the house and such. I doubt the report of even a large gun would be an issue with neighbors (in fact I know it [theoretically] - homemade fireworks have never been a problem), but I would be concerned about a stray bullet going anywhere but into the woods. I also don't know that a small round would do anything but piss a coyote off. What about other handgun rounds? Maybe a .45 JHP would work and help avoid overpenetration and stray bullets better than a 30-06 or something. Any thoughts? I'm not certain I even want to kill them if there's another option, but animal control is refusing to do anything about these, or the coyotes roaming Green Hills residential areas. Maybe paintball or pellet guns? I also wonder about getting a permit to hunt them, what exactly could or should be done with a carcass, and other things I'm probably forgetting. So if anyone has any input here, I'd appreciate it.

I'll be there. It's just a few minutes from my house. I'm not a member however, so I'll have to sort out guest status.

Wow, that's unbelievable. I don't think I've ever even thought about selling anything worth more than a few bucks without researching its worth and market price. I really wonder though if this is ignorance on the seller's part or 'gun-sharking' to screw a novice buyer. especially considering how misleading the title is.
