It's a quick sub 3 hour hop from Memphis to the range :-) This would be an awesome way to test the waters on different disciplines of shooting. Lots of helpful and informative people will be there that will make you feel welcome.
Apparently, he has been arrested 31 times. Only caption I can come up with to describe him is ".........." As I am dumbfounded by his sheer idiocy. Sad part is he had his sister and his niece with him. Terrible role model. BTW, thanks dolomite for putting the photo up. I just now had a chance to check the thread.
He is one of the ring leaders of the fraud issues too FYI. Was picked up in MJ not 3 weeks ago. The hit several stores and usually has 3-5 accomplices with him to go in and buy the phones...guess they chose to take them this time.

I support a large number of stores for a wireless provider. The sheer volume of fraud is unbelievable right now. We see on average 2-5 cases of fraud each day! They are getting smarter, but rarely get to complete their transactions now that we have figured out their game. Sad part is it begins with identity theft, and ends with them rarely if ever getting arrested. If they put the amount of their efforts to defraud someone or a company into actual work, they likely would do ok for themselves.

Something smells....your thread was about exercising the right to open carry at a demonstration against police brutality. Not whether Officer Wilson was justified. I addressed the brutality part, nothing more. And in a very open non directional way (ie I even included smurfs). There was no mention of Ferguson or anything else. Simply the fact of the matter that if someone is doing or intending to do harm, they made the choice and anyone (you, me, black, white, doesn't matter) has the RIGHT to defend themselves or others. As far as protests, if it was happening outside your home or business, would you want a strong force to stop/contain it, or a meek, timid group to politely ask them to leave. The violence begins and ends with a choice. Those folks can choose to act stupid and loot, riot, shoot, throw stones, bottles ect. Or they can choose to peacefully assemble. They chose wrong. It's funny how your thread took the route I believe you wanted it to go...there are several other threads here on Ferguson, your opinions on whether that was a justified shooting or not might be more on topic there. As this was started as a thread regarding open carry protesting. Bottom line is play stupid games, get stupid results.

Person A attacks, endangers, engages, advances harmfully toward person B. Whether person A is a cop, daughter, son, husband, wife, family member, smurf, whatever, and person B defends his/herself and person 1 pays the penalty of death or bodily harm, that is not brutality. Person A made the choice, and has to live or not live with the results.

That's not crazy. That's what I like to call planning ahead!

The one thing I can say is that this round is guaranteed to make you smile when you rip off a few!

I'll be there to help set up. Stages look good

Drove past their new location today. They were laying block for what I'm guessing is the range below the store front. Might (hopefully) make for a more competitive pricing structure in MJ...

I was headed thru Mt Juliet today and was stopped by one of their officers. I had hands on the the wheel and window down when he approached. First thing I noticed was he was smiling. He asked how I was doing and if I knew why he pulled me over. I was stopped at a light, so had no idea. He explained that I had a brake light out. Once he asked for my id, I did as I always do. I let him know I was armed and asked how he'd like to proceed. He smiled more and said no worries, just grab your DL for me. Once he came back to me (I'm assuming after a standard warrant check ect) he said armed, good citizens like you are what this country needs. We then had a brief chat about guns and the like. He even offered to check the blinkers just in case so I could grab any other bulbs I may need after I told him I'd stop at the parts house on the way home. I also asked him if his job was different after the July 1 law change. His outlook was simple: he said (as other LEO's here have) that he has to assume everyone is armed. His concern was that he foresees more car break ins with bad guys looking for guns. Kinda makes me reconsider a lock box/safe for my truck gun now. Nothing other than a good experience all around. Not sure if it was not getting the ticket, or having a very positive interaction, but it made my day. It was clear he liked his job and is here to serve the community.

That's a good looking holster. The pattern isn't too much either. I like it! -
Powder River XDS Spring Kit - Has anyone installed?
Wiljo05 replied to lshel's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I did the full blown powder river kit in a service model xd. Included a new trigger with over travel reduction piece and 2 sets of springs (competition and carry). I have another xd that I just out the kit in. It's better than stock, but pales in comparison to the full kit. Took about 15 min to put in. Super easy and I'm no gun smith. I used the videos on their website. If you were closer I'd be happy to let you run each and make your decision. If you go with the full kit, you will NOT be sorry!!! -
To my untrained eye it looks pretty good. No noticeable loose ends or frays. It's not as heavy of stitching as say a Desantis all leather, but is comparable if not the same to my Galco and Minotaur. On the Cloak Tuck 2.0 I just got, my initial thought was the leather was super thin. But obviously with the neoprene backing it would have to be vs just a single slab of leather. If I recall the order tho, they have a lifetime warranty on all parts. Which is awesome, hopefully will not need to use that ever though. For $45 to my door, it can't be beat in my mind.

I'm in! Looking forward to it.

I just received my cloak tuck 2.0. Was hesitant on the neoprene backing thinking it would be hot, but it is awesome. Super comfortable, and capable of carrying the full size XD9 all day. I got the confirmation email that said 4-6 weeks on delivery, but it came in less than 2. I've already ordered another for me, and one for a family member. I'm sold on them for IWB. they are more comfortable than my desantis or galco.

I'll be hanging up the bow fishing rig this coming weekend (or maybe the following if I get a wild hare) and knocking the dust off mine shortly after. Going to set the trail cams one evening this week. May even sit in a stand and blow a few coyote calls just to get the blood going! I'm afraid with all the coyotes I have, they will/have put a dent in the deer pop. Haven't seen as many deer behind the house as usual. Up to 27 coyotes down this year tho!

did a little upgrading to the 300blk so help me decide

Nice! How do you like that grip? Angle looks considerably different? And yes to spraying the rest. The time you put into it definitely shows! -
Order the dies. Not sure, but don't know of anyone but Lee that has em. Mine have been spot on and no complaints. I received them in about 4/5 weeks if I recall.

Good Deal on X-Treme Bullets Right Now
Wiljo05 replied to Sidewinder's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Just got in 2k 124gr 9mm bullets. Great prices and free shipping arrived 1 day earlier than quoted. -
Ask away! I've got 2 and just finished frankensteining a 3rd version in single stack commander length as my carry piece. Ps reloading is very tolerance focused. Case length and powder volume are NOT forgiving at all. Pressures a very quick to spike. Fwiw I love the round. Taken a coyote at 50+ yards and the 40 gr bullet is devastating!
