I bought the book but I kinda put it down 1/3 of the way through and haven't picked it back up. It might suit others better though. If you have any background, there's a pretty good free document out there that basically runs over each of the possible questions and answers. As I have a bunch of related skills, this got my wife and I through the exam no problem. http://www.kb6nu.com/tech-manual/ You can also take practice exams online which can help a lot http://www.eham.net/exams/

80% build party in Chattanooga. Let's make it happen!

I was thinking zip-code might be a good one. -
Most Libertarians do not identify with the Tea Party

I think Reagan may have been a bit left of tea party but unfortunately, what we have seen is the Dems go way off the scale. Moderate republicans can't plot even a semi-sane path anymore. You can't compromise with insanity. I think it is just a few Dems causing the majority of the issues though. The ones mentioned above mostly but also Durbin, Frank, Dodd and Feinstein and probably a couple of others that don't spring to mind.. -
"Stop throwing rocks or the mutt gets it". Solves half of your problems one way or the other... P.S. Kidding. *do not* shoot the dog.

It's a shame they don't count the spoils here. -

A good point. -
Obligatory:

That's not a particularly special price around Nashville. If you mean losing the money, any hotel should refund if you cancel early enough. If it's only a couple of days, might not be worth fussing about too much.

If it's damaging your mower, small claims court? Nothing says "change your behavior" like a bill.

Human nature. If the tea party becomes successful, it will attract the same bottom feeders that the regular parties have and we'll be back to square one (there's evidence of this occurring already). The problem is systemic. -
Yes. They'll snap up any expired domains too. My wife had one that expired about 5 years ago and I believe it's still being held by squatters. The company I worked for ended up paying $5000 to one of those a-holes. When I want to check, I use WHOIS. But there are several registrars who don't play the front running game. Domainmonger is a small registrar and I've never had an issue with them. There's some good info (including how to use whois for Windows) here http://www.domainsherpa.com/prevent-domain-name-front-running/

440 is awful westbound in the AM and eastbound in the PM. I think 40 may be worse. If it's a few days before you go, you might want to check out the TDOT traffic cams and be ready to consider revising your plans :) http://ww2.tdot.state.tn.us/tsw/smartmap.htm?city=Nashville

I guess it would depend on the read of the situation too. My take in general would be that if a cop was open to reason and being "corrected", unless he was fresh out of the academy, he'd probably know that handling a loaded firearm is not the safest way to proceed. Maybe I'm just too cynical :)

One of the tea party groups was advertising on the radio a couple of weeks back about how they needed to continue the fight for 2A rights. Now, I'm as pro 2A as anyone but I think that was counterproductive. Unfortunately, whilst the Dems are wrong, there are a lot on the right who just happen to be correct but otherwise are pretty dumb and they just can't help falling back into that whole red team/blue team thing. Once people like Palin started showing up, it was the death knell for a cross-party coalition. -
In such a scenario, my aim is to minimise my interaction with the po-po as much as possible. The more interaction, the more the opportunity for things to start going wrong. As long as what is being asked of me does not rise above the trivial, I will comply (searches rise above the trivial). The time to sort such things out is *after* the event when the potential for trouble has disengaged. A letter to his superior would probably be appropriate (in this case, if you could do it, it would probably be better if you did it as it is less likely to come back on your wife). With that said, it's arguable that for a woman travelling alone to be ordered to disarm rises above the trivial. That's a judgement call though.

13 minutes eh? It's not over the west side of Nashville then?

I think I heard Godaddy goes in for preregistering searched domains. You may want to use a different service. http://www.billhartzer.com/pages/godaddy-caught-registering-domains-after-availability-lookup/

That's a fair point of view. How far are you willing to take it?
-
If you are working in Belle Meade, you might want to consider Bellevue and taking 70 in in the mornings. It also depends which direction you're coming from.
-
I always like riding that route. Sometimes all the way from Dickson (70 becomes Charlotte Pike). It's always interesting the variation once you've crossed the interstate. I've never felt askeered.

Very true. Unfortunately, as was obviously going to happen, the republicans have attempted to co-opt the tea party, the tea party has tended to drift a little in its message and many have come to see the tea party as the extreme wing of the republican party (though I believe there's often something of an agenda behind those who push that view). However, the core principals of the tea party (fiscal responsibility) are not incompatible with libertarian principles. -

Make all the guns Serial "1337". Or maybe in Klingon. If I do it, I just won't serial. I don't see the need. If a resale was in order, I'd probably just swap the lower out. The site I posted above has them at 5/#390. I want two for myself. Anyone interested at $78? -
www.cz9mm.com?

It's dumb. Never been asked to do it myself. But in a similar circumstance, I would comply, reload when he left and bitch about it on an internet forum. No point making more trouble unless you are willing to stick your neck out to make a point. There's a saying about choosing your battles.

They've had something similar in the UK for ages...
