I'd be up for some but Cleveland/Chat is a little far. Anyone swinging by that way could pick me some up if there's any still available? I'm usually in Cool Springs & Dickson.

Football team loses 91-0 and sues for being bullied
tnguy replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
If I was on the losing team, I'd be pissed. Now, not only are they not very good, the whole world *knows* that they're not very good *and* that they're bad losers. -
Try ebay. Or buy a smaller set that contains that size bit. Flea markets often have people selling odds-and-ends of tool sets too (sockets etc)

Already been ruined three times over in any case. I have the original 3 in their original, unmodified versions salted away so I'm good whichever way it goes.

Should probably not have swerved anyway. Way too easy to get into a serious wreck that way. And your children were in the car. It still sticks with me a woman on the news swerved to avoid a small animal (dog or cat or something), lost control, slid sideways into a tree killing her baby in the back seat. I feel sorry for the dog itself but if the family couldn't keep control of it, it's their own fault (and I speak as someone who has a dog that has got away a couple of times in the past). There's a good chance the dog was just dumped in any case. Tell her to sleep on it. She'll feel better tomorrow.

Many teachers get by. I can quite clearly remember teachers who were just about getting by, those who were just coasting. The main thing a teacher needs is interest in seeing the children they teach succeed. If you're homeschooling you're probably 90% there already. If you're a teacher, there's a good chance you've already given up. More likely it is the other way around IMO. "Barack Hussein Obama. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm"

Here's a hint. Even in the teachers' books, the answers are in the back. Teachers are not supposed to be good at the subject they teach, they're just supposed to be able to teach well. As for the social interactions, that's been long debunked. Only the most weirdest of homeschoolers don't encourage plenty of interaction with other kids. With that, it's better for kids to socialize with a mix of children and adults (which is what we hope they will learn to become) than the self-defining socialization of children only (especially when you consider some of those children). It's not free. Not that there may not be some role for community provided schooling. What is out there at the moment though is of scarily variable quality. Let alone other factors like indoctrination.

I wasn't blaming him for this. It was more of a joke that he was doing his best to remove the danger of disgruntled ex-employees by doing his best to reduce the number of employees in the first place (crappy economy, ACA etc). Sorry if it didn't hit the mark, they can't all be comedy gold.

I meant in general. High unemployment and all...

Double distance should be double linear size, right? Triple distance, triple linear size.

OK, help an AR noob out here... So, as previously stated, I ordered the hat-trick. I am able to start acquiring the other pieces. From what I can tell, the next things to acquire are an armorer's wrench then possibly some pin-punches, the lower kit then the upper kit. Does that sound right? I *think* I'll probably be going 5.56 (unless someone can tell me better) so I should start acquiring ammo as and when available and look out for deals on magazines. I have a 2-ton press. Can that be used for many/most/all of the pins? Thanks

Here's where we could perhaps draw a distinction. How about legalizing unloaded carry but allow ammunition to be carried separately. I think that would be fine with me but I'd rather people not carry loaded without good reason.

Though you have to wonder how much of that is not strictly the truth. Like when people die "cleaning their guns".

That should be SSNs of course :D

I think Excel may have lied to you :)

I'm glad to see that our President is being pro-active in removing this threat to our well-being by doing his best to ensure that there are as few employees as possible.

Experian is the one that just sold a bunch of personal information, including SSIDs to a guy who provides identity theft info to, well, identity thieves. http://krebsonsecurity.com/2013/10/experian-sold-consumer-data-to-id-theft-service/

Meh, just means having a second fridge anyway. Which is a good thing. Who wants to run to the store when there's drinking to be done?

Compromise only works when it's between entities working in good faith.

The issue though is that with hydroplaning, you want to cut power so that your speed drops and the tires settle back through the water to maker contact with the road. It's different than a skid. If you're driving, you just take your foot off the accelerator and wait for things to settle. If you're on cruise, it's going to try and keep your wheels spinning at a speed that raises them out of the water and causes the hydroplaning. In fact, I guess if only one of your drive wheels is hydroplaning, your vehicles' speed will drop, the non-hydroplaning drive wheel will slow and the cruise will increase throttle, causing the hydroplaning wheel to spin faster. Then again, modern cars have traction control which should counteract some of that effect. I guess my thought is that unless you can point to a spot in the manual that claims that the cruise control can deal with hydroplaning, cut the cruise. Make sure you have decent tread on your tires too.

Pretty sure the magazine thing is a scam and I think it's as much a scam on the people going door-to-door as the people answering them. I hate having to be a hardarse about all the begging and stuff. I had one of those "I just need some gas" people at the pump at Wal-mart last night and I ended up buying them some just because it was easier than not. Who knows, it might have been legit but I'm sure I'll never hear from them about repaying it. It's annoying because there are people out there who genuinely need help but these grifters have to spoil it. Oh, I consider girl scout cookies as the same thing. The troop gets 50c per box with the balance going to the main organization. Bet they gots them some shiny rims on those Porsches.
