I agree. It's true that when things are lost either through theft, fire or other means, it's best to take the attitude of "it's just stuff" and "At least we have our health" (if applicable) but it has been taken too far. For most of us, our possessions represent an investment of an often significant part of our lives. Theft may appear non-violent but it can represent a quite significant impact. Let alone the psychological feeling of violation. I'm not really so concerned about how they are treated when actually in prison. Just get them off the streets and increasing penalties for repeat offenders.

I guess New Jersey will have to pass a law that these require a human supervisor.

I have the pocket rocket. It's great on portability but it sure puts out a lot of heat. I have a copper bottom mess kit and the heat from the pocket rocket actually softened the copper so the pan started sliding all over the place. Not much fun as I was on something of a slope. Theoretically, I'd like something a little more flexible but for simple camping, it's pretty decent. You could also do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z85XyP9g_jY

80% build party in Chattanooga. Let's make it happen!
tnguy replied to Junkstack's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I'm considering this one http://www.tacticalmachining.com/80-products/80-receivers/80-ar-15-lower-receiver.html Bought together with the jig, save $5. I'm not in the Chatt area though. -
I added the third one. It sounds like they can probably be read standalone so I'll see what it's like.

No worries. I'm assuming there would not be enough interest for another round (though I can't tell if the case is still available at that price).

Fake. Detroit is nowhere near that clean. And that car still has a rim on it.
-
Unfortunately I missed the first one. Oh well. Will watch for it next time around. Not usually into this sort of book anyway.

My Noveske KX3 was delivered today...damaged

Maybe if you have to park in a less-than-salubrious area. Have a wrap that makes your car look like a beater. Or that ad where the guy pulls the cover off his car that makes it look like a beater and it's shiny new underneath (that one was done with computer trickery though). -
Didn't this one get already posted up and it turns out it's fake?

I was replying to RobTattoo. The point being that if it will ever be used for nefarious purposes, it will be too late to undo. Considering that we're already considered borderline domestic terrorists, all it might take is someone going postal then they happen to notice that you were at the same range at the same time and suddenly you're the center of attention.

Good point. I've had adaway running for so long I forgot I was using it.

By the time you find out, it's too late.

FWIW, there are apps out there that can fake GPS data. If you install them in the normal way, you have to enable fake GPS information (and I think the apps can tell somehow) but if you move the app to the system area (requires root), it becomes the "official" GPS information provider. Haven't tried this myself but was reading about it a while back. Google definitely seems to be getting out-of-control in my opinion.
-
Rough location can also be obtained from local wifi hotspot information (Google knows where most of them are) and cell tower information. So turning off GPS won't necessarily help completely.
-
The three most advantageous things I have gotten from it 1)Ability to remove applications you don't want (usually those crappy ones installed by the carrier) 2)Ability to completely back up everything 3)Enabling the wifi hotspot functionality without paying $$$

Definitely think the windows probably played into it. Especially if it's single paned. I can see a leather holster causing issues also as the leather will hold moisture.

Well, that made my Saturday :)

Football team loses 91-0 and sues for being bullied
tnguy replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Yeah, fair enough. I'll change it to the world *thinks* that they're bad losers. I pity the poor kid of that father. Hopefully his team-mates will rise above taking it out on him. -
I don't think I have a single 1/8 drill bit left. Went through them all one day on a particularly annoying job.

Getting rid of the Fedgov's involvment in local education would be step #1. Homeschoolers typically aren't against public or other forms of education but more for a plurality of options. If local communities can decide how they implement local public schools rather than having to conform to the shitty federal government mold, that can only be a good thing.
