No offense and I do hope none taken but I think a lot of what you said here does depend on location about 95% and 5% type of dog. I grew up most of my life on a ranch of almost 5000 acres and we always had at least 8 to 10 dogs, Some hunting dogs and some stock working dogs and a few house dogs and were never chained but beagle hounds were fenced in a kennel area about 50 by 50 feet and all had insulated dog houses. Stock dogs ran loose all the time and Coon hounds ran loose all the time. Now with that said. People that do not live in an area where a dog can have sufficient room to run and remain on their property should not have an out side dog or should have a large fenced area. ..............................jmho

 I have been watching those ads on TV and it talks about Chicken pocks back when you was a kids and all. I was one of 5 boys all 2 years apart and one of us was always sick with something and of course we all got it most of the time but for me to remember back to then and try to remember Chicken Pocks would be a real stretch. I am the only living one of the boys since I was the youngest so I cannot ask any of them if they could remember plus Mother and Father are gone so guess in the dark on remembering for me. I spoke with my Pharmacist at Walgreens about them and glad I did but wish I would not have. They don't go far enough on TV with the information. Shingles can actually kill you depending on your health, age and where it is located. There have been people that got it in their ears and around their eyes and it ended up killing them. I am going tomorrow for my Shingles shot. I checked out the law of averages and Murphy's law and any other source I could find about the vaccine possibly giving you the Shingles and according to all I have searched out and read about it's a 1 in 1 million chance the vaccine being a living Vaccine could give me shingles. I like the odds verses not getting the shot. Just curious if anyone here has had them and how many have went and got the shot???? Anyone got an advice pro's or con's on it?........

I am truly glad you are getting your best friend back Glow but I would go the micro chip route if he runs loose any at all. After being living and eating at another location for 6 month dogs have this thing about sometimes going back home to familiar surroundings and if loose he may wind up in another county on his own this time. He may decide the other place is home........Stranger things have happened......................jmho

i had Kasey Micro-chipped when she was 6 months old and it cost me $35.00 but that was also 15.5 years ago so I would guess it has gone up since then..............

I think Troutburger has a good point. I might even find out if I could get and off duty police officer to go with me in plain clothes if you know one. I still would have my focus on getting my dog back but still would do a follow up on the organization to see if they are operating legally and if not I would see about getting a refund. If you have the time you might want to do some checking before you even go to get your dog. Be prepared I guess is what I am saying.............jmho

Does not sound on the up and up but most important in my mine would be to get my dog back and pay the fee and then go after them in court. Check with county, city and any one else to see if they are licensed to legally be a Rescue Center or are they just a dog scam outfit...............jmho

"but they make cartoons for kids, not adults." Beg to differ with you on this statement but cartoons like the Simpsons, and Archer are directed at adults along with a couple others I have seen advertised that I would never let kids watch..........jmho

An Ellisville school teacher called the local phone company to report her telephone failed to ring when her friends called - and that on the few occasions, when it did ring, her dog always moaned right before the phone rang. The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile lady. He climbed a telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber's house. The phone didn't ring right away, but then the dog moaned and the telephone began to ring. Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found: 1 . The dog was tied to the telephone system's ground wire with a steel chain and collar. 2. The wire connection to the ground rod was loose. 3. The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the number was called. 4. After a couple of jolts, the dog would start moaning and then urinate. 5. The wet ground would complete the circuit, thus causing the phone to ring. Which demonstrates that some problems CAN be fixed by pissing and moaning. Thought you'd like to know.

Worst nightmare... Green Hills Home Invasion
bersaguy replied to Peace's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
He is a very lucky young man. Had that been my house he would be dead today. If you break a window and enter my home you will get shot numerous times. And then 911 will be called and I will recommend in the 911 call that they send paramedics along with police. ...............................jmho Very glad that the young lady and child are safe today but the memories will be there for a while and her and hubby need to definitely build and practice plans for their future and a gun should be in the plans along with proper firearms training.........................jmho -
This may be true for normal houses but my house and activities are anything except normal. Half the time I don't even know my plans and do everything on impulse most days...............

Ahh!! factories don't send money back over seas. They pay it to American employees and those employees spend it in our American economy. Yes they probably do send a certain amount of the profits made in the dealerships sales of their automobiles back home but also remember they have plants back home making cars that remain there and built with much less labor costs and more profits. I think we should be glad they are giving Americans jobs and not still importing everything............jmho

I do know a few guys that will from time to time open carry. They also have a back up CC in case someone would try and take their OC. When they do OC the don't have the tube hot so if the bad guy tried to shoot him with his own gun he would have to take it off safety and then rack in a round and by then they have their CC pointed in the bad guys direction or they have already began popping caps in the bad guys body. I have never approved of that tactic. It always appeared to me like they were baiting some one to try and take their OC weapon just so they could shoot some one. I have told them my thoughts on it and they just smile and walk away............................................jmho

Where did I miss this at??????

Well, I think I got my questions answered and for the most part most folks do agree they look almost alike. That is what makes it so hard for an eye witness in a crime scene to identify the car even if they are 20 feet away. If they don't see the license plate of cars emblem all they can said is color which can also be tough and 4 door or 2 door. I have also been doing a study on car colors. and someone mentioned Reds, Blues, Blacks and Whites are main colors. I drove through 25 different dealerships brands Foreign and domestic and White is # 1 but # 2 color is Champagne, #3 Silver #4 Black #5 Red and # 6 was blue. Yea I do have an exciting life as I know most of ya'll are already saying. But my Dog enjoys riding and hanging out back side windows barking at the cows and horses in pastures. She gets bored quick in car lots..................Thanks for the replies.................JMHO

Well, not going to argue with you about my 90 GMC 4.3 because I know what I did and what I got out of the truck. I bought it with 10 miles on it and I know what I spent on it and I know I did put 3 transmissions in it because the 700 R - 4 trannys were not really all the good for pulling boats. Oil and filter was changed every 3,000 tune up every 50,000, 5 sets of valve cover gaskets (due to poor design with 2 bolt rather than 4 bolt design) 7 sets of brakes and 6 sets of tires. I know what my fuel mileage was because while fishing bass tournaments on tour I had to keep up with mileage and miles on truck for tax purposes. Truck had 30 gallon tank and I went from Greenbrier Tennessee to Tyler Texas which was 636 miles miles and I put 21.4 gallons of gas in the truck with the boat on the back so you do the numbers. As far as timing chain is concerned they have an oil pressure controlled tensioner which automatically takes up chain slack protecting from gear damage and they also had steel gears and not nylon. Guy I sold the truck to drove it another year locally before he restored it and had the motor replaced. Was going to rebuild it but his mechanic told him that everything inside the motor was worn totally out and to rebuild would be iffy so he replaced the motor with a factory GM target motor built in Memphis. ...........................

Sounds like it should be fun. Looking forward to a fishing report and pictures when you return................

Yea and 1999 had the multiport injection and 4.3 and were great trucks but still couldn't get the mileage that Throttle body Fuel injection could get...........jmho

I never considered it a stigma because there was always a few people that were down on their luck and really needed the help getting back on their feet ut they did work and get back on their own and no longer need the food and welfare. It's the ones that con everything they can possibly get with not intentions of trying to better them selves that are the leeches and deserve the Stigma. Only thing is first you have to care and have pride about your self and your family before the stigma will bother you and leeches don't have any pride. Now with that being said they keep talking about our economy is getting better and so many jobs have been filled last month. If that is the case why is the unemployment numbers still going up ? There was also an increase in the amount of EBT cards needed ...............Oh Wait!!!! I forgot he had a new class of welfare recipients flowing across our southern border......That must be but all the new cards are for...............my mistake.......................jmho

Well since I don't know a lot about Harleys I thought they had Pan Heads and indians had the Flat Heads and I really thought he was talking about Old 50s Fords and Mercury's with the Flat head 8's with the 3/4 cam and 3 deuces..............

There are very few imports in America any more MAC, Just about every auto maker has a factory here now and most have factories and brought their home base offices here also. You don't hear any complaints about that fact because they are providing Americans with good jobs but still it is an attempt to take over an American market..................jmho

My guess is they finally found the crack he was in..................jmho

Yep for sure!!!!!!! I use to have a 1990 GMC 1500 1/2 ton pick up truck. I was parked in a Kroger lot and a guy in a 2012 Chevy 4x2 standard truck pulled in next to mine and parked. When I turned and looked back my truck sitting next to that so called basic 4x2 Chevy truck dwarfs and made mine look like an S-10 setting next to my truck in 1990. I have several friends that own new Fords and one or two Dodges and if they did not have running boards and grab handles to get in them I would not be able to ride in their trucks because I could not get in them and these are basic trucks with nothing special done to them. Now they make a truck that makes my old GMC look like an S-10 and then try and sell you on the fact that they get as good a fuel mileage as my 4.3 liter v-6 got. I hear Ford talking 23 to 25 miles per gallon with their ecoboost V-6. Buddy of mine has one and he has yet to get 13 on the highway with his. My old 4.3 liter throttle body truck did get 27 on the highway dragging a bass boat and 32 without the boat and that is why I drove 314,000 miles and never pulled the heads or replaced the Timing Chain in the engine. Best truck I ever owned. I guarantee you they don't make um like that any more...............jmho
