  1. Heard a Marine on Uncle Phil today. He said he did 4 tours overseas, and two in a recruitment office. He said most Marines in recruitment centers have zero experience with firearms. They MAY have handled a rifle briefly, and NEVER a handgun. He said everyone wants to arm these guys, but they have no clue, and would need proper training first.
  2. I'm thinking fast trigger finger, NOT auto... but who knows yet...
  3. Hope it goes well, Doug.
  4. Caliber has yet to be decided, apparently.
  5. Well, I just showed him the thread again. He would never criticize an officer to his face; his comments were made to me. I just felt they had merit.   Now, he's just sitting in the corner of the shop chuckling. Lol

    Glock 43

    Viva la difference...
  7. Yes, he was a field agent (now retired) with a pretty long string of arrests. When I see him again, I'll let him read all this.

    Glock 43

Bill's dead. Get over it. Ruger makes very fine guns with increased capacity mags now.

    Glock 43

Or financial and common sense, apparently...
  10. That was an observation from the FBI guy I work with almost every day when I showed HIM the video. I'll pass along your opinion.

    Glock 43

    Some people are unteachable... ;)
  12. EDIT: As some people are obviously going to take offense (and have), this is what an FBI agent I work with almost every day said when I showed him the video. I am simply passing along HIS observation. --------------------------------   Is this real, or a training "how to not make an arrest" video?   1) Guy should have been in cuffs at the bathroom. He never should have walked that far behind an officer's back with his hands free. 2) Firing at man on the ground? I get adreneline, but still, not good.   Bad procedure.

    Glock 43

Let's do a little comparison:   Glock 43: 6+1, sort of typical thickness, but single stack kind, really stiff trigger, price +/- $499.   Ruger LC9s: 7+1, thinner, MUCH better trigger, price +/- $399.   So, what's to like about the 43? Nothin' I see.   (I know; some guys hate it when I'm right. ;) )
  14. Ok; here it is on the NRA's OWN site. http://www.nrahq.org/history.asp
  15. Great video. But, the NRA itself disagrees. http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2013/jun/05/harry-alford/nra-founded-fight-kkk-black-leader-says/
  16. I can only speak from my past 2+ years working gun shop retail. I have not seen ONE customer come in carrying anything like in those links, and I have never had a single request to order anything similar.   I have seen similar creations brought in for range time by competition shooters that practice at our facility; but never as a carry weapon.
  17. It is also limited to 10 rounds.
  18. I need to find a Confederate flag decal to stick in that spot next to the "01."
  19. This thread is full of win. I love it! I will sit proudly at my one of a kind General Lee steel guitar and continue on!
  20. ehull2000, thanks for the links. I now fully understand that we are talking apples and oranges. You are talking pure competition race guns, and I'm talking EDC guns. Carry on, young man!! And thanks again.
  21. Yes, I know it's not a "new thing." There are FAR more firearm choices now, though, then there were back then. It would seem to me that there should be SOMEthing out there for pretty much everyone at this point. I realize there are mods for competition race guns, etc., but for daily carry, you should pretty much be able to find something that suits your needs without a bunch of cutting and melting.
  22. ehull20000, perhaps you should not look at Glock, but rather at FN. Their FNS-9 addresses several of the desirable points you're looking for. Of course, nothing is going to have your entire list.. but the FN would make finalization minimal.
  23. ... precedent MAY have been set. http://www.naturalnews.com/050237_SCOTUS_gun_laws_same-sex_marriage.html
  24. My family came to America in the early 1900's, through Ellis Island. Slavery and the Confederacy were historical topics for me. I have no issue with the flag. I do have an issue with it's removal because of its' historical significance. We can't continue to remove where we came from in the interest of pop culture and political correctness.
  25. Well, I'm going to gather that you're talking about me. You don't know me at all, or you would know I'm certainly not "stuck up." (Man, that's a dated phrase. Do people still say that?)   Why shave the finger grooves off? Just get a Gen 2, and that's already done.   I have been a professional musician for 41 years. I have seen many guys get an instrument, and then start changing all kinds of things. Pickups, keys, pegs, etc. I always wondered why in hell did they buy it in the first place if they didn't like it? That's like dating a tall, skinny brunette and wishing she'd put on a few pounds, buy flat shoes and dye her hair blond.   I never bought an instrument in my life that didn't sound and feel exactly like I wanted it to in the first place. I never wanted them to "get a new one out of the back." I wanted the ONE I liked.   "I've done and had done the exact modifications he is asking for.  They enhance the capability of the weapon system." Have you considered submitting a resume to Glock? I'm not being an ass; I'm serious. If you can make a company's product better, why not try to go to work for them, and introduce your ideas?
