  1. I don't buy their crap anyways...unless they own stuff under a different name of which I'm unawaref.
  2. "Hit a nerve"? Not hardly. I'm a centrist. Your comment was completely unrelated to what had happened. What happened was the result of local government; not the president.
  3. He hit his term limit. There's a new guy in town.
  4. I think that both are now gone.
  5. Unless you can show that Bush - in all unlikelihood - got involved in State and Local law enforcement's efforts and issued an order for them to confiscate the citizen's guns, this comment is totally irrelevant to the point of this thread.
  6. Rightwinger, that brought tears to my eyes from laughing!
  7. I hope that they sued the crap out of those departments. As a former LEO it makes me sick.
  8. My wife had no interest in guns because she has a 6'4" 290 lbs husband to protect her. But as I age I'm not as physically capable to protect her as I once was, and I point that out to her. I had to get her to realize how dangerous our world was as well, so I emailed her links to 911 calls of women getting raped and murdered while on the phone as well as ones that had the woman shooting the intruder. I also emailed her links to local news whenever there was a home invasion, assault, rape, or murder nearby. These things changed her mindset quite a bit. She still looks to me for protection while I'm around, but she now is looking to herself for when I'm either not around or incapacitated. We bought her a 642 with Crimson Trace grips last Saturday, she's anxious to go shoot it next Saturday, (the soonest that we can), she wants to practice with it to become proficient, and she's going to get her HCP. Also, if you get her to the range make sure she wears a high-cut shirt rather than a V-neck. My wife wasn't happy about it when a hot case bounced off the range partition and down her cleavage resulting in burned boobs.
  9. I saw those from Hgunner's link, and I bookmarked them. It helps to get validation, thanks.
  10. I would have asked the LEO if the same thing happened to him while on-duty what he'd done. On or off-duty, I would have drawn my weapon, and I bet that he would have too.
  11. That was EXCELLENT!
  12. Agreed, Leupold does make good scopes, but I have a SWFA SS on my Savage Model 12 .308, and I feel that I get a lot more bang for my buck with it. Leupolds were crapping-out on Rangers while the SWFA kept on impressing. And since it's $300 versus $1,300, I'll stick with the SWFA. 13. Price is not what I'm focused on. I was wanting easy access to the iron sights if the mood/need arises. The scope is going to be a SWFA Super Sniper.
  14. Old story, but poignant nevertheless.
  15. Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW Rings FREE S&H 49852, 49853, 49854, 49855, 49856, 49857, 49858, 49859, 49860, 49861, 49862, 49863, 49864, 49865, 49867. Leupold Riflescope Mounts, Rings & Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW Rings They are quick release rings that i'm considering for my new Sig556 DMR. Since it is a heavier weapon in 5.56 I think they would be able to hold position on the rail, and still offer quick release. I want to put on some back-up folding iron sights as well.
  16. Done! http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/35692-does-my-wife-love-me-what.html
  17. Yes, but I have a sparkling personality! Thanks again, Joe!
  18. My prayers for you and your family.
  19. Thanks, I was thinking of ordering the Wilsons. It did shock me to pay that kind of money for a weapon and get only one magazine. I'm pretty pumped about the rife too. Now I have to decide on a scope and mounts. Thinking of getting another SWFA Super Sniper for it like I have on my Savage Model 12 .308.
  20. I gotta tell ya...that bobbed mainspring housing makes a huge difference in not only the feel of the gun, but also the comfort in carry. I wore it in an IWB holster half of the day yesterday and half of the day today. I hardly noticed it on my side even while driving in my truck. Wow! I am tickled!
  21. I went with the Ed Brown Kobra Carry, and also picked up a Sig556 DMR to boot. The Kimbers were nice, but the Brown felt like it just was meant to fit in my hand. The trigger and fitment were much superior too. Joe also treated me right on the weapons and my trade-ins. Check it out! http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/35692-does-my-wife-love-me-what.html
  22. New toys I picked up at Hero Gear yesterday: Her new 642 w/Crimson Trace Grips, and my Ed Brown Kobra Carry. My new Sig556 DMR
  23. Hands down, the best gun I've ever held is the brand new Ed Brown, Kobra Carry that I bought today.
