  1. The last bar I was in there was no difference in containers. There were several in my group, and some were ordering cokes, and some were ordering alcoholic drinks. The glasses were the same. But do you really want to spend the money to defend yourself if you're the unlucky schmuck to land yourself in that scenario? I prefer that the law was written to prevent an innocent person from getting screwed because he doesn't have the money to defend himself.
  2. In the spirit of "What if's"...let's say the waitress picks-up a rum and coke rather than the plain coke that you ordered. You take a drink and discover the alcohol. You just broke the law. Someone sees that you are printing and "drinking" and reports you to the police. Guess what? You're screwed!
  3. Yes, drunk drivers kill more people than handguns - and actually, medical malpractice kills more people than anything else in this country every year - and yes, there should be very stiff penalties for carrying while intoxicated, but what's the difference between having the gun on you when you have a couple of beers and getting back into your vehicle where you left your weapon after the same amount of alcohol? Why should the physical location of your control over the weapon matter?
  4. Personally, I appreciated the unexpected boobies...particularly the ones big enough to make you sit-up and beg for buttermilk!
  5. You do know that Snopes admitted to lying when it's convenient for them? They aren't the bastion of truth that everyone thinks they are.
  6. Ok, why don't some of you wealthy fellas open up a private range in the South Nashville area so we have somewhere else to go?
  7. That was awesome, Mike! Thanks for posting!
  8. That would be my guess. I don't recall left-handed anything in the military.

  10. A liberal replacing a liberal. Doesn't seem newsworthy to me. I would get a chuckle out of the Repubs obstructing his choice like the dummycrats did to Bush.
  11. I always volunteer my time and then take it out on others. One can correct someone else without the appearance of demeaning them. Instruct the first time and chastize the second time seems reasonable to me. I have seen the RSO's resort to yelling at someone in the checking station without the convenient excuse of having to shout over the gunfire. Some of them do make me think that they were frustrated hall monitors in school.
  12. Cool! Thanks for that info.
  13. This bill is for people without a HCP. It seems to me as this bill makes it for those that are without a HCP as it used to be for those with a HCP. IMHO, abiguity in the law is no bueno. That's allows liberal cops, DA's, and judges room to go to the extreme.
  14. Can't say as I like the ambiguity of "...close proximity to the weapon." One person's close proximity can mean outside of the bag/case whereas another's could mean in the same vehicle.
  15. +1! The Marine Corps has always sucked hind teat, and you have to remember that the military was training with frigg'n wooden weapons and trucks with a signs saying "tank" on its side.
  16. Can someone say, "staged"?
  17. My wife commented that she liked how BoB introduced you to the group during training, and then took you to war with them. I explained to her the difference between the established Marine Corps' "First to fight" and a brand new concept of paratrooper warfare during that time. True, there wasn't much of an introduction of the characters: however, there wan't the same amount of time involved in training. What I thought was interesting was their downplay of Japanese atrocities, (the American bodies tied to trees), and the American atrocity, (target-shooting the Japanese soldier at Alligator Creek). It seemed to me that the director was making the effort to portray the Americans in a more negative light, and that bothered me especially when the Japanese committed atrocious acts from the very onset of the war - even against female civilians.
  18. Kind of makes you wish that someone would declare open season on those groups.
  19. Yes on the first part. if you skimp and do not put the padding under the Pergo it'll sound loud and annoying. As for the second it's not anywhere near like laying a real hardwood floor. It shouldn't expand/contract much.
  20. I'm amazed that this thread has gone on for 9 pages.
  21. I just put a set of larue Quick Detach mounts on my SIG556 DMR. They are guaranteed to return to zero. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, but the quality seems there.
  22. I think there's a big difference between the pistol being able to shoot a 1" group at 25 yards and the shooter being able to do it. Ed Brown states that there pistols shoot 1.5" at 25 yards, but they certainly don't claim that they test them from anything other than a vise. As far as I'm concerned, I know I suck with a pistol. Always have and probably always will: however, I "justify" my $2,500 pistol with knowing that it's a quality piece, and if I miss I am certain that it was me; not the weapon.
  23. I don't look at reloading as a cost-cutting measure. It's relatively simple: if you shoot a lot then you'll save money over time. If you don't shoot a lot then you'll spend more. I reload for a hobby. It gives me time in man-land by myself. It also allows me to maximize accuracy for each of my weapons, have more choice in what I shoot and when, and gives me the flexibility to shoot more at any given time.
  24. All of it is outdoors.
  25. I've been there a few times, and the only one I've had problems with is the guy I call the Range Nazi. He's an old codger who's definitely on a power trip. One the brass hits the yellow bucket it's theres, but I've picked up my brass without problems. All told, I'd rather have private property to shoot on.
