How much does the taxidermist charge to mount a mullet? How do you keep all the leftover hair jel from staining the wallpaper?

Ben West is the ONLY person in state gov that ever answered one of my emails. He went so far as to call me to explain that he is in FULL support of the Naifeh'ed restaurant carry bill. Good man...I plan on being there.

dunndw replied to dunndw's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports

Is Brush Creek shooting on Mothers Day?
dunndw replied to dunndw's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
that WOULD be interesting....unless you did it this weekend...then that would not be so good. There's no way i can make it this week. The clan is going to be @ my house for Mothers day. -
It was a good time. The ladies...one of them was...well..unimpresssed. the other one seemed to have a much better time. Now...if the BOTH show up to class...then you've done a FINE job. Next time you head out let me know...I WANT THAT STEEL GONG TO RING dangit. I need to get the ACOG knockoff sighted in on the DPMS 308 The 5.56 AR was pretty good with the irons. Len and I scared the steel plate to death. There was dirt flying all around it. I'm going to say we hit it..just the 223s weren't big enough to make it move :-)

Interesting conversation with a LEO tonight
dunndw replied to dunndw's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
No it's not required...but I'm a lefty...ID is in my left hand pocket. I'm also (at the time) carrying my 5 inch stainless steel 1911 underneath a untucked button down shirt. I'd rather be "polite" and let 'em know up front so I don't see how well a Glock fit my ear canal from letting some rookie get spooked because he sees my piece. Not to mention...the LEO was very very polite from the get go. -
Well...I zoned out in my neighborhood after picking up dinner and didn't stop..enough at a stop sign. Saw the blues...damn. Pulled over...hands in plain sight. LEOs approach from both sides. The "main" LEO introduces himself says no big deal..you just didn't stop "enough" at that stop sign back there. I say...OOPS. Sorry. Before I go reaching for my ID I want to tell you I have a permit and I have my pistol on me. He says; OK, no big deal. I pull my ID and he goes back to his car. Comes back a few minutes later, no ticket, but he told me that 90% of cops aren't shooters. The next time I get pulled over, I should have my license and permit ready to go when they come to the car. the word "gun" makes the hair on their neck stand up. I told him I had always heard to keep my hands where they can see them until told otherwise. He said...and I quote. You can have your stuff out of your wallet before they can call in the stop. Nice guy...should have invited him to TGO.

Just wondering how I'm going to get there...and take care of Mothers Day cooking out without a visit by:death:

no... at least I don't think so. Before the movie the more "professional" of the two was helping himself to the unopen snack bar drink machine. No...I think these were two true mall ninjas. The one guy reminded me of the bad guy demon on Spawn...the other one like the a hole brother in Weird Science (note to shelf...get away from reruns on television) They were both in the theater...hanging out between the snack stand and the ticket window. I don't think even bail ninjas would show their true identity on a Saturday night in a movie theater....ZEKE..you out there:D

Went to see "Iron Man" tonight (go see it...good flick) at the Opry Mills Regal super duper movie multiplex tonight. When we left...i saw a...what I guess is some of their new security measures. Two guys...all in black. front of shirts said something along the lines of TAC SECURITY....the back is what got me. Emblazoned across the back of the black tactical polos were the word AGENT. Yea...I felt real safe with the one 5 fot tall 400 pound super ninja agent with his badge around his neck like he just came from serving a high risk warrant on some terrorists. Glocks....ASP batons, OC,...I even think I saw flexi-cuffs in the mix. My wife had to elbow me in the ribs to stop me from laughing out loud. the first thing I thought of was...oh look...sheep wearing dog suits. then I thought..I'M going to buy black on black on black BDUs and a raid vest. I'll have CITIZEN across the back and 2A Security across the black. then perhaps I can be as cool as these two fellas were.

Before ordering ...make a trip to Greene Military in Donelson...they have 'em in stock. If you're coming in from Mt Juliet...40W to the 1st Donelson Pike exit. take Donelson Pike down to Lebanon Rd, Turn left. Greene Military is down on the right hand side. If you make it to Pizza Hut...you've gone too far

Form 4 CLEO signature
dunndw replied to sengsouvong's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
When I did my AOW...I was told I needed an appointment to meet the chief of police (I don't care to EVER meet Serpas personally) When I called to setup the appt..I was told I DIDN'T need a appointment, that all I could do was drop off the paperwork and "someone would call me when it was ready" I think it took about two weeks or so. Then it's off to the ATF. I think I was downtown all of 15 minutes...including finding a place to park. You're not allowed past the front desk. they call someone down from his office to take the paperwork from you. I don't know if I'd mail it into the police...to much of a chance for it to be misplaced -
Ya'll missed a good one. The blind stages made you THINK...the rain took a bit of the fun out of it...but not enough to complain about. Going into a stage blind will take some getting used to, but it was a BLAST. Stage one the targets NOT marked were no shoots. All shoot targets had 'threat indicators" on them (the outline of a weapon) The 3rd stage had ALL the targets marked..some had "threat indicators" some said MOM ( or as one shooter thought WMDs) Someone whom I will not mention went from "hero saving the office workers" to "mass murderer" real quick...and it wasn't me :-) I even broke down and picked up a cheap video camera to record the stages...never even got it out of the bag. If I wasn't shooting I was hiding under the covered area can't wait for the next one.

:D well..he was eating like a man possessed...so that explains it:D:D

Dustin told me I just missed you. said you stopped in for a minute then had to go back on patrol.
-
I picked up a Spike "Punisher" lower and a DS upper to build into another AR. Met Dustin from C.I.S, talked to Frank for a bit Didn't really see any GREAT deals either....oh well.

That sounds like a good weekend to me. I might try to hit up the TWRA range with one of the EBRs after the gun show Saturday...then IDPA on Sunday. I'm guessing the time doesn't change @ Brush Creek...

Until I saw it with my own eyes I'd call B.S. I don't care WHAT kind of training he's had.

Who's planning on going?
-
If my count from the "I"d be in" posters is correct...we're around 11,000 rounds of various calibers. I've been emailing Georgia Arms on another order and asked what it would take. I was given an email address and told we'd need a FFL or a tax ID number (do you need an FFL to re-sell ammo? if it was a bunch of us going in..would that be considered reselling?) If anyone is serious I'll email the guy and get specifics on prices and quantity needed.

I'd be interested in what Joe @ Hero Gear says about this. I think he has sand in his boots. He might know if it's actually being used by the troops in Iraq...

3rd in class...(I think) 10th overall. I can't complain the way I was missing targets left and right. ...geez I have GOT to learn to S L O W D O W N and watch the $#$*&^#@ front sight instead of trying to see where I'm hitting Can we tape up Greg Bell's dominant eye as well as make him shoot weak hand maybe just smudge up his glasses really bad.
-
I'd be in for 2K in 45 ACP..perhaps 1K in 5.56

Another option is the Wilderness Instructors belt http://store.thewilderness.com/product_info.php?cPath=43&products_id=1186 It works very well.
