  1. +1 with the exception that I'm toting a P3AT in one
  2. Daniel...good to see you here finally. I wondered how much "internet sales" you were going back there :-) -Daniel
  3. I also run a small computer repair company. As of 21 June I'll also be a firearms instructor along with Len.
  4. There's also Brush Creek just east of Lebanon. They shoot every other Sunday
  5. From the Washington Post: The checkpoint will stop vehicles approaching the 1400 block of Montello Avenue NE, a section of the Trinidad neighborhood that has been plagued with homicides and other violence. Police will search cars if they suspect the presence of guns or drugs, and will arrest people who do not cooperate, under a charge of failure to obey a police officer, officials said.
  6. WASHINGTON - D.C. police will seal off entire neighborhoods, set up checkpoints and kick out strangers under a new program that D.C. officials hope will help them rescue the city from its out-of-control violence. Under an executive order expected to be announced today, police Chief Cathy L. Lanier will have the authority to designate “Neighborhood Safety Zones.†At least six officers will man cordons around those zones and demand identification from people coming in and out of them. Anyone who doesn’t live there, work there or have “legitimate reason†to be there will be sent away or face arrest, documents obtained by The Examiner show. Lanier has been struggling to reverse D.C.’s spiraling crime rate but has been forced by public outcry to scale back several initiatives including her “All Hands on Deck†weekends and plans for warrantless, door-to-door searches for drugs and guns. Under today’s proposal, the no-go zones will last up to 10 days, according to internal police documents. Front-line officers are already being signed up for training on running the blue curtains. Peter Nickles, the city’s interim attorney general, said the quarantine would have “a narrow focus.†“This is a very targeted program that has been used in other cities,†Nickles told The Examiner. “I’m not worried about the constitutionality of it.†Others are. Kristopher Baumann, chairman of the D.C. police union and a former lawyer, called the checkpoint proposal “breathtaking.†Shelley Broderick, president of the D.C.-area American Civil Liberties Union and the dean of the University of the District of Columbia’s law school, said the plan was “cockamamie.†“I think they tried this in Russia and it failed,†she said. “It’s just our experience in this city that we always end up targeting poor people and people of color, and we treat the kids coming home from choir practice the same as we treat those kids who are selling drugs.†The proposal has the provisional support of D.C. Councilman Harry “Tommy†Thomas, D-Ward 5, whose ward has become a war zone. “They’re really going to crack down on what we believe to be a systemic problem with open-air drug markets,†Thomas told The Examiner. Thomas said, though, that he worried about D.C. “moving towards a police state.â€
  7. another reason I chose the carbon 15 "pistol" I'm thinking about getting one of the cav arms discreet rifle bags in red or blue to hold a broke down AR. I figure in the SHTF I'll have enough time to snap an AR together.
  8. I don't plan on going anywhere...but I have a "get home" bag I toss in the truck...holds my carbon 15 AR pistol with several extra mags, 6 or 7 10 round 1911 mags, 1st aid, MREs, that kind of stuff.
  9. I have night sights on all my guns. The only laser I have is my TRL2 mounted on my AR. Being a lefty Lasergrips paint a nice bright red dot on my thumb I don't see what problem night sights can cause. I can see the sights in daytime, nighttime, dusk, etc. It doesn't hinder my in any way at all.
  10. Wilson Combats are worth the money. I'm JUST now having problems with some mags I bought....8 or so years ago and I've lost count of how many rounds they've had through 'em
  11. It's just a sign of the times. Dems: If you break the rules you'll be punished Mi/FL: We're going to do what we want DEMS: OK...you were warned FL/Mi: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Dems: Ok...well...we'll give you 1/2 of your ice cream FL/MI: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa.....ok NO responsibility for your actions...whine and gripe enough and you'll get your way.
  12. They carry the rather cheap leather belts...I can't remember what brand. I think they're Gould and Goodrich...something like that. They also have the 5.11 and Wilderness nylon belts in stock. Unless your style of dress dictates the leather...I'd go with the wilderness belt I believe they're open until 6pm 7 days a week.
  13. Id bet when Guns and Leather gets them...it'll be about 1600 or so.
  14. yep...I was there today as well http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8424
  15. As requested...crappy cell phone pics In Franklin they said it'll run "about 1800.00"
  16. Oh....damn...you're right. Dang...now I'll have to go back and refondle it :-) Good thing I'm still on Franklin
  17. Stopped by Franklin Gun Shop today (Friday) and they have a Kriss in house now. Not for sale...it's their demo..but I got to fondle it :-) They're taking a 20% deposit on orders for them.
  18. I've found myself being...too comfortable carrying sometimes. I don't forget that I'm carrying..but I forget that other people might "sheep up" if they see it. I had some cable runs last year in a attic..in July. I was drenched in sweat and basically forgot to put my cover shirt back on when I stopped for fluids. No one seemed to notice the sweaty guy in my tacticool 5.11 pants and the tucked in Underarmor T shirt with the 1911 on his side. Or they assumed I was LEO or military (I was in Clarksville) You will feel naked without your pistol after a very short time. The VERY few times I'm not carrying...it feels wrong. Not to mention my pants don't fit properly without a pistol to take up the extra room.
  19. +1. I can remember spending several minutes in front of the mirror to my sure nothing showed...now...I toss a 1911 iwb and grab any shirt that's clean to run out of the house. I think about it for a second if I'm going to a client site..other than that...not really. I think it comes with your comfort level.
  20. I hope I never have to find out...but I've ran through the "what ifs" in my mind millions of times. I believe I wouldn't have a problem shooting a person trying to do me or mine harm.
  21. anyone else find it odd the the guy with probably the worst case of EBR syndrome on here (and most likely the largest collection) is pushing for pics so hard :-)
  22. The way you shot the Para...you should come back with it. Whats your usual time with the wheelie?
  23. Rabbi ran a 119.90 Sunday at Brush Creek...I had a 120.63. (to my friend Rabbi) All that time you've got invested in IDPA...and you beat me...on my 4th time out...by less than one second. Keep laughing funny man...I'm getting there Of course...King smoked BOTH of us...and he had at least one mag malfunction that I saw and STILL came in @91.00 My 2nd stage was HORRID with one mag malfunction...that mag is now in pieces in my range bag. It failed again today. Guess it's time for some springs.
  24. I have one of the Sig 556 SWAT models...shoots very nice unless you try Wolf ammo. Ken and I tried some Wolf in it today...no go. Wouldn't even feed using my PMags That and my inability to boresight properly are my only complaints with it
  25. I thought it was just me. I brought one of my ARs home and forgot to clean it until the next day. I wondered why my safe stunk so bad
