There's no way I'd sign up to be an UNARMED Homeland Security anything. sorry...allow CCWs to carry...have a very basic rife training course..for a fee andhave the people bring their own rifles and ammo...something. Unarmed people in uniform are nice targets

Gun show promoter Bob Pope, the focal point of a controversial Tennessee Republican Party video on the wife of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, disputed a Democratic Party statement issued today labeling him a "pornographer." Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Gray Sasser issued a statement deriding his state party adversaries over the Obama flap. “The Tennessee Republican Party should be ashamed of the way they have run amok in recent months, drawing unwanted attention to the state of Tennessee,†Sasser said in a written statement issued to Tennessee media. “Going so far as to use a former strip club owner to make their point, the TNGOP betrays their voter's confidence and further increases the likelihood that their deplorable attack against Sen. Barack Obama's wife will be one more national news item mischaracterizing the vast majority of Tennesseans. “It appears that the Tennessee Republican Party would rather use a pornographer as their spokesperson than their top elected officials Senator Lamar Alexander and Senator Bob Corker,†Sasser added. Pope’s financial interest in a Nashville strip club was documented in a 1994 story by the Chattanooga Times-Free Press and reported again by the newspaper today. Pope, one of the Southeast's most high-profile gun show promoters, is a long-time 2nd Amendment activist and GOP campaign contributor. He is featured in the Tennessee GOP YouTube video that attacked Michelle Obama for statements she made about feeling “proud†about America for the first time in her adult life. "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm proud of my country," Michelle Obama stated in a February appearance that created controversy for the Obama campaign. The video has drawn international attention to the Tennessee Republican Party, and both of the state’s Republican Senators – Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander – have rebuked their own state party and asked them to discontinue use of the video. Yet, the Sasser statement uses the word "pornographer" in a reference to Pope, admitted Democratic Party Spokesperson Wade Munday. Pope, however, when reached by The City Paper, denied ever being involved in pornography. “I’ve never dealt in any kind of pornography,†Pope said. “I owned that club for four years in the early 1990s. That is over and finished.†Munday said the Democratic Party was not aware Pope had any interest in producing pornography, adding, "That may not have been the best choice of words." "Not that I know of," Munday said when asked if Pope was involved in pornography. "It's just that the industries (pornography, strip clubs) seem to be linked." They had to dig DEEEEEEP to find that little tidbit.

The Oakley Vault store is now open in Opry Mills. I pucked up a pair of Oakley Assault boots and list on their website for 175.00 or 75.00 Actually I picked up TWO pair of boots (I can't recall the name of the 2nd pair) for less than one pair is listed on the website. They had several different type and sizes available...and they get shipments in every Wednesday

Franklin is decent...but high are; in my experience at least 200 to 400.00 higher than other shops in the area. I've never bought anything from Useltons...can't see myself ever doing it in the future. The only thing I've bought in Gun City in the last 10 years is two ammo cans.

The gun city range is dangerous on a GOOD day. It'll work in a pinch..but dang. I used to shoot a lot down there...and pick shards of copper out of my hands when I was done from the splashback from 45 ACP rounds. Ventilation was a joke loose plates on the far left hand side would ring when you hit 'em I won't go into the other people that were shooting there. I'd be a happy happy man if they'd revamp their range...less then 10 minutes from my door. Until then...I'll drive to Greenbriar or the TWRA range if it's a nice day

I can make some calls Thursday and see about picking up a OEM copy of XP Pro here locally (Nashville) if you're interested in going that route.

From talkting to other people in the industry...I'll believe Useltons will open when I see people in there. I won't be one of them however. I'll spend my money with someone who doesn't take your hard earned money then spout his mouth off in the media.

Did I miss the postal match....it's all my mothers fault dang it

I spoke to the shop were i received my training and they say im out of luck and need to pay again, They shall remain nameless. oh H*** no. THEY screwed the pooch...they need to make it right without any money leaving your hand. If not...then release the hounds. If they certified you then they should take the responsibility of making this right. if not....then you have no obligation to keep their name "off the record". The school should WANT to make this right to keep their name and reputation. If not..then it's up to you to show them the error of their ways. Who's the guy that Channel 5 that does the anti gun stories...he'd LOVE it; but probably wouldn't touch the story until some piece of pro gun legislation was up for a vote.

Glocks are impossible to destroy..it wouldn't melt :-) He wouldn't carry one though...he'd carry a gold plated Desert Eagle .50; just to look gansta

When I visited there several years ago our hosts took us to a place called Deception Pass. I think is was where one of the rivers emptied out into the ocean. the view was incredible. Mt St Helens was covered in clouds but the visitors center was cool Never made it to the fish market..went shooting instead :-)

I use 230 grain for daily carry...185 for training and IDPA. I can't really tell THAT much of a difference in felt recoil. Perhaps in a 3in Kimber I'd notice the difference. If God forbid I have to shoot @ another human...I don't want there to be any questions that I wish them to stop...therefore I use the heavier bullet :-)

Now I don't feel so bad buying that dang FN that I hated last time...at least it was a gun
