1.       Just making sure you understand that I am not suggesting my idea will stop anything. Not suggesting that at all.   They ARE going to pass something......   I'm just trying to give them something to pass that might make them feel better, and at the same time does not hurt US..........
2.   Marking yes or no would have no bearing on you being approved or not.
3.   I'm with you, and you are preaching to the choir.   They are going to pass something, make no mistake about it. It's just the what that I'm worried about............
4.   Okay, but they are not going anywhere, they will not see our logic, plus they have the power and we will likely watch the AWB pass again and worse. This one I feel will be far more extensive than the last.   The smart move IMO is to play ball until the tides turn. So, we can take the staunch approach and watch as they ban crap or we can try and outsmart them. I'm just saying we add a line that says we don't want mentally unstable people to have guns. I'm not sure how that is agreeing with their position since we all want access denied to crazy people? I understand that you mean that I'm agreeing that passing a new law will help (I'm not and I know that it won't).   Basically I want to take the expensive cell phone from the baby and give her a set of car keys so they will quite crying. We need to outsmart them or this ban will pass. I have no doubt about it.     I hope I'm wrong....... I hope I'm worried about nothing and your approach is the smart move.....
5. Well, I have my doubts that the images of 20 1st graders being killed will die down anytime soon. Certainly not before this comes up in congress etc...   Beyond that, I have never sat by and let others determine my future (not that is what you are suggesting). This proposal is an effort to insist on what any sane person would do anyway. It cost us nothing and will satisfy many on the left.
6. Okay, so then lets take the consent to search OUT!!! I will edit my post....
7. We are going to have to be proactive here guys, or I feel really bad things will happen.....
8.   You would only be subject to that if you marked "yes" on the form and signed the consent. Beyond that, maybe that goes away and it is just a signed verification only without the consent to verify etc....
9.   You don't even have to send them to the academy. Just give them the same firearms training that the academy gives before they put their officers out on the street. About 2 days worth is all it amounts to from what my friends on metro tell me.
10. I don't "like" it either, but we are going to have to do something constructive even if we know it will only satisfy them.
11. It came out today that Adam's mother was going to have him committed etc...   So, here is an idea that maybe we could push that I think could satisfy both sides of the debate.   What if we add a line to form 4473 that asks if there is anyone living at your place of residence that has been diagnosed with any mental illness condition etc..... If so, the FFL has you fill out another form. That form will basically have the buyer commit to and swear that all weapons will be stored in a combination safe, and that the combination is known only to the buyer or members of the household without the condition.    The exact verbiage would need to be fleshed out but you get the idea
12. Buffoon......   The Heller decision I think they has some huge stumbling blocks as far as the AR is concerned even if they pass a ban. The verbiage of "commonly owned and used arms for legal purposes etc...." I'd say the AR comfortably falls within those parameters.
13.
I hope that you guys didn't take my comment in poor taste, it's certainly understandable giving the timing of the match.
No, not at all. I was Just trying to explain was all.
14. The guy who normally heads the steel matches cannot do it. I don't think he's an RO either, but spearheads the stage design and coordinates email to the shooting community for set up day etc..... Everything is done on a volunteer basis. All too often the same 3-5 people do 99% of the work, and those folks did not have the time or inclination to take over the steel match. The more active the club members, the more vibrant the shooting opportunities. I invite everyone to get involved in their shooting clubs and take an active role. We need to grow all the shooting sports!!!!
15.
Are you guys only shooting AM or Both on the 11th?
Yep. 2 guns on Sunday.
16. Well, the steel challenge is owned by the USPSA, and our club is the closest USPSA club to Clarksville. Unfortunately, we don't shoot the steel challenge stages very often. However, we have practice days where you can set up steel and have at it. Feel free to PM me and I will be happy to help him anyway I/we can. Tim
17. If I actually knew what to do with those bumps on my slide, I would come shoot this.
18. I think that model is merely bead blasted stainless. So you just sand out the scratches and then bead blast again. It looks like a medium bead, but you might need to bead blast the entire gun so that it matches nicely.
19. It's double action only. After every shot the hammer is down and the trigger pull is again DA.
20. You know, I just can't disagree more. I have no idea what needs to be tuned all the time. If you are talking about the extractor, just get an aftec and change the springs every 4-5k and that is all you'll ever need to do.
21. I had always read that too, but knew that it was not the case. Heck Bill Wilson built his career/company on his reputation of building tight and utterly reliable guns for IPSC in the 80's. (When he was building guns that is) I started to do some research on the subject as far as the mil-spec guns and wrote this for our 1911 social group forum. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/50777-“jmb-designed-the-1911-to-be-loosesloppy-so-it-was-reliable/#entry792278 The truth as I see it: A "loose" gun can be accurate and reliable or inaccurate and un reliable.....depending A "tight" gun can be accurate and reliable or inaccurate and un reliable........depending
