  1. Limited to straight walled cartridges in single shots, yes. Stick to .35 cal and up.
  2. You won't find many that have owned both. They are both excellent and you wouldn't look for more after owning one or the other. My personal choice is the beretta, been in love since my old 390.
  3. Seem a tad expensive on GB. $450+. Could buy a contender for that and change barrels as needed.
  4. Go re-zero to 50yds. Holdover is almost nil at 200yds. The dot/circle reticle will make hits out to 500 with a little practice.
  5. 9mm is perfectly serviceable as a defensive cartridge in a carbine. Was a long time favorite of those who had to bust down doors and put rounds on target quick. The mp5 and UZI come to mind with a long service history. Now we have things a little easier with more options. Personally, if I didn't build, I'd drop $1k on the colt factory 9mm and couple hundred on quality 32 round mags. If you owned a beretta 92, the beretta cx4 would be an excellent choice. With home defense in mind, an auto loader is a must. 9mm also gets a good boost in a 16" barrel and can match 357 mag pistol ballistics. The 147gr loads are proven man stoppers also.
  6. Even with reloading, brass isn't very common.
  7. Better choice for what? Defense, target, hunting, plinking?
  8. I shot with Tim a few months ago at 3gun in Jackson, TN. Saw him troubleshoot a 2011, the man knows his way around a 1911/2011. Super nice guy and a great shot to boot.
  9. A gentleman by the forum name BTsniper on castboolits has done .40-06 and .40-08. The .35's get best ROI with bullet weight versus velocity. But subsonic changes that quickly. The 45Raptor brass and barrels are available. Uses 460s&w dies and load data.
  10. The heavy firing pin spring is due to the lightweight titanium firing pin they use as a modified drop safety(reduced weight/lower inertia). If you replace the spring, I'd replace the pin also. They also use 9mm/38super firing pins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The ALG handguard is light and thin. A buddy uses one on his 3gun rifle, seems really solid. If you like to wrap thumb over top, it's very easy. I'd consider it a best buy in the price range as it comes with tools and barrel nut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. New here but not to Varget and .223/5.56. As always work up but have found best results near max in LC brass with 55grn FMJ's in multiple rifles. Uniformity in case length and weight will pay off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. They are available in blue now. May be a distributor exclusive. Some on gunbroker, a few bucks cheaper than the stainless. A couple good reviews on YouTube.
