How are you set for ammo and reloading components?
CommsNBombs replied to gregintenn's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Black friday overloaded them - they shipped my order 4 days late. Ill be calling to let em know their logisticians are FUBAR and act entitled and get some free crap. /sarcasm Xtreme is a real good company, this free shipping jacked them up fierce. Usually they ship within a day and it gets where it needs to 2-3. I order most of my Xtreme stuff from a fellow named Wes Sage on Facebook, he is usually cheaper and can beat shipping on big orders - I only order from extreme when they do 10% off my favorite offerings and/or free shipping. Another consideration to take is how do you carry them. And practicing with said method. I know dudes love running plate carriers or battle belts, or couplers or other wierd high speed CAG Operator techniques. I personally shove things in my pockets. I guess I would wear my plate carrier if some stuff went down - but that is not for everyone. Ammo gets heavy, in a dismounted situation if I were to carry a rifle, 7 mags, my Glock 20 with 3 mags weapons and ammo alone is nearing 15-20 pounds plus my plates and ruck full of crap and more ammo. You can tell when people just buy that stuff on a whim, I see heroes in full kit at MCSC all the time and they move around like pregnant whales - spending 400 on a chest rig doesnt make you an Operator same goes for drop leg ammo bandoliers and Gunfighter helmets. My $0.02, baby is asleep and I felt like venting. Yall know me and my hate of everything tactical Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

What a week this has been. Started off with my POS Company getting put on a 36hr lockdown (pretty short considering) because some winner wanted to steal a pair of BROKEN pvs14s... The next day (thurs) I get a call from the wife saying they are inducing her, good thing we got taken off lockdown. Allison Brooke was born the next day at 1215p CST 4 December. 5 lbs 3 oz 18 inches and stealthier than your average F35. I was told all my life you are never a man until you make a woman, and even then not until you have a child. It has been emotional and stressful, finally got home a few hours ago. I feel at peace, which is something I never thought Id feel. Everyone who has sent me PMs or well wishes I will try to respond to them promptly. 4 days of being in the hospital has overloaded my notifications. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Rethinking HCP carry after San Bernadino
CommsNBombs replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
45 does that too - I like going with lighter 185 or 200gr 45 so I can push faster. I dislike .40 because of the "wundergewher" reputation it has - everyone thinks its some hybrid 9mm and 45 and has all sorts of misconceptions. The reality is 9mm is just as fast and hits as hard as the .40 cal the ignorance behind it makes me roll my eyes. Metullurgical and powder developements have come a long way but the average shooter doesnt know that. Plus carrying a neutered 10mm goes against my thought process - ammo capacity is the same - or I can carry 357SIG which is still more effective. I can reload either just as cheaper if not cheaper and far more effective. However all the 10mm and quarterbacking in the world aint gonna convince me to fight some Jihadis with AKs. No one else would do it either. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -
Rethinking HCP carry after San Bernadino
CommsNBombs replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
If some retards are running around with AKs and SVests I am not sticking around. Yes 10mm is known to reduce mortals to piles of goo and gristle, however I will not try to tackle a hunter killer team bent on killing everyone. Only to have the wannabe SOF cop cavalry shoot me 320 times while mildly creaming their panties. Im tired of all this postulating and tactical planning it doesnt solve anything. Everyone is getting scared. Hold your family close and stay aware - but dont be a fool and think carrying a pistol be it a 9mm with a 33 rd mag or 10mm or 454 Cas is going to eliminate a threat. Get out of the danger zone and go home... Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -
Well 28 hours of lockdown at the company and sitting here in the hospital for the last 12 hours finally got service. Yall all crazy. Quit fighting with each other it's unbecoming. This wasnt a bad attack. Home boy was a good Westernized "moderate" Muslim, want to SA in '14 obviously hooked up with a Wahhabist or Salafist cleric/imam overseas and set himself straight. He became pious, continued working with fat, lazy, pig headed Christians and finally had enough and decided to attack. His explosive training was mediocre. Im not impressed. Less impressed with San Bernadino EOD or whomever that was - so much theatrics. Yawn. Obviously they had a bigger target in mind but seeing a pine tree and decked halls obviously triggered them. Oh and total lame Grand Theft Auto police chase. It took 22 dudes with FAs and 2 RG31s to stop that? Bush league. All those cops were dressed full operator - youd think they were CAG. Yawn. So we can chalk up that our counter intel continues to suck. Our President is just....well we know San Bernadino PD has no terrorism contingency plan and overreacts Shadow cells continue to suck. So Comm's prognosis? Everyone sucks. This is unimpressive and underwhelming. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

10mm is for hard charging Terrorist killing Jihad stopping Non-wimpy hand having Beer drinking Americans that will NOT use wimpy .40 cals and who hate the FBI and their weakness! On a serious note with the right gun (Glock 20) and the right loads (Underwood or nuclear handloads) in the right hands it produces devastating results. People compare it to 41 Mag but it is in its own realm. If youre all about advanced data then youll see where it shines. I carry mine if I need to shock and awe someone with 15 rounds of high speed death. You can hunt with it. It is pretty flat shooting, easy to load for and scares people at the range Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

I already have a 20 Gen 4 or Id have grabbed it. I think I just need new grip extensions on my Glock 29. That and a new RSA because the one thats in it is all jacked up. You guys in Jackson or where? Never did get a good route planned Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Two-Way Radio Communications (Basics)
CommsNBombs replied to R_Bert's topic in Survival and Preparedness
This makes me very happy and warm inside lol. This is a lost art in the Signal community - I was happy that the SIGDET in 7th still had the SOROC kits and even the indomitable RS-1. HF is pretty easy for small and short range shots - wave propagation and ionization and antenna theory go into it when doing long range stuff. Pisses me off to know RTOs of old used 109s, 213s and GRC104s with ease during Nam and now I cant teach a RTO to turn on a RT1523E properly let alone use HF even with a 150 and ALE programmed. Favorite home brew antenna to skip a low band ground wave in FL to teams out in the Gulf was broadsiding a length of wire fence and weaving copper wire through it. CW and morse is even more of a lost art - shooting hemispheric comm windows with HF gets a bit crazy but a beep comes through clear as day. You can always pick up old milsurp SOROCs or NVIS antennas on ebay too to use. Granted you can make HF antenna out of practically anything Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -

Glad to hear they will work on it for you, Ruger had pretty good customer service and you will not be disappointed. Dont be suprised if they throw in some spare mags or parts in for free. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -
Been slowly getting in bullets and brass. Been doing a lot of trades of reloading equipment on FB so I got about 3K 9mm, 2K 45, 1.5K 10mm bullets as well as 10mm and 357SIG brass. My postal woman hates me already. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Anyone have a door barricade on their front door?
CommsNBombs replied to Randall53's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I had a cheap aluminum "door bar" like Mike described, it was some cheapo ratcheting aluminum fork with a rubber pivot pad on the bottom. Kept douches from busting in my door at EOD school. It was like $15 dollars and I replaced the cheap aluminum pins with stainless steel rods and put epoxy and machine screws on the fork part - NO ONE got through that thing. If someone is determined theyll kick it down at the hinges but it sure as hell will slow someone down quite a bit. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -

CommsNBombs replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Calling up Ruger may not be a bad idea. Do you have a small level you can see how level the (I dont know what its called) part where the firing pin sticks out of thingy lol. Or if the barrel link is wobbly and causing the bullets to feed in a bit crooked because of bad fitment. Tried any other ammo in it? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -
Anyone else worried about attacks during Star Wars premier?
CommsNBombs replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
Maybe all the Sith Lords will keep them at bay? It seems pretty high profile for them - for a France style at least - suicide bombers maybe. I dont do movies, but it is a very real possibility Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk -

CommsNBombs replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Try running it dry perhaps - not sure if it likes being wet and sloppy. I run mine pretty dry. A little polishing and stripping the mags and wiping everything else may help. Have you stripped the barrel out and tried to plunk a few rounds in their? Hopefully the chamber is not jacked up out of uniformity. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
