  1. I'm up for it. I NEED to drop some pounds. Don't know about the pictures though, wouldn't want to be responsible for someone shootin' their monitor. I'm 6', and 250 lbs. I'll get an "official" weight Friday morning to start with. My goal weight is 200 - 210lbs (at least according to the doc.)
  2. I've also wondered that. Prolly not much with all the camera crews walkin' around. BTW, how can it "feel like reality" when there are all those camera's floatin' around you? Oh yeah, and you have "advisers" off camera helping too. Geesh, give everyone a hand held camera, have a few cameras "hidden" in the warehouse, and get rid of the advisers and lets see how long this group would last!
  3. best thread in a long time!!!
  4. Aren't those things considered antiques now???
  5. you're right that would be some good T.V., kinda like a modern day "Running Man" (you know the movie with Arnold) I like how the marauders and interlopers are told "not to harm them", um yeah right. It should be, "try to take as many out as you can, if you kill them oh well, they signed a waiver or two to participate. and now that the two people have been "kicked out" the can go tell the gang that lives near by where all the defenses are, where the food is, where the generator is, etc., etc., etc. Oh (memphismason, since you haven't watched it yet don't read this, spoiler alert), did anybody catch that the guy picked up a knife before they kicked him out? It was a folder, sitting on a cutting board.
  6. I totally agree with memphismason. And last night "boy I wish I had some solar panels" "well now that you mention it I did see some..." They just "happen" to have all the necessary tools (all provided by Harbor Freight BTW) to do everything they want. I thought I heard either the announcer or one of the cast members say that with the solar panels they would have enough electricity to run the welder, is that even possible? Oh, and Mike (the handyman guy that so damned annoying), I'll just turn down the RPMs on the generator to save gas, now why is this not working???? Yeah, my gas generator runs at 3600 rpm, just like any other gas genny, diesel will run 1800 rpm usually. I may be wrong here, if I am I'll admit it, but the show is so full of crap, it stinks. Oh, and did anybody else think the "sparring" match was rigged? Sorry but if this was real life, that guy would have owned her!
  7. It does work, I googled it. It will work using standard charcoal, but having activated charcoal (carbon, something or other) would be best. In a "survival" type situation, they are spending WAY too much time worrying about things like electricity, showers, workout room, etc. While guns would be a nice thing to have, they are not a necessity. Being smart is, and not too many of them are thinking of "survival" but rather "I want it to be like it was before, TV, workout, do nothing but live off the .gov" I wonder how long those generators will work running on that wood gas? I mean that gas is nasty, filled with tar and other impurities that are going to muck up the internals of those engines. Oh, and I just love it how they always seem to have just the right tools and supplies to make what they want. I'll prolly watch it for some of the laughter, an occasional tidbit of useful information, but it has fast become just another "reality" show.
  8. I have the mosquito, and I don't have any problems with it, other than a stiff trigger pull in DA but that will soon be rectified. I have had 4 failure to feed problems, and that was within the first 50 rounds. I have only shot Federal bulk, Remington Golden bullets and CCI mini mags through it, none of them have a problem. I do know that blazer .22lr will not work in it. I did not like the P22 when I held it, it felt too small for my hands. And as far as the DA trigger pull being hard, well I almost never shoot it in DA mode, always SA. Mine does have a threaded barrel as I have a can on order.
  9. With your wife being pregnant,it's entirely upto her if she want to go to a gun range. I will tell you this. When my wife was pregnant with our son, she worked at a gun range. Infact she worked there until just before her 8th month. We talked the OB and her opinion was that she was more concerned with lead than noise. So much so that every 2 months my wifes lead levels were checked. Our son is now 15 months old and is doing just fine. At least your will has agreed to get training after the baby is born. BTW, congrats on the baby on the way!
  10. Mark@sea, I'm sending you a PM. I knew there was someone around here that worked with lanterns but couldn't remember who. As far as canning goes. My MIL still does it. The wife and I help out and we get to keep some of the "canned" goods. Does making preserves count as canning? If so, I started this year with strawberry preserves from my garden, YUMMY!!!
  11. Wasn't sure if this should go under the handgun forum or here. Shamlessly stolen from http://www.thereifixedit.com
  12. Thanks, gonna see if the FIL wants to go, prolly on Sunday.
  13. Looks like it's a predefined course with the navigator directing when & where to turn. Jetsprint - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  14. COOL, those were some FAST turns!!! Thanks for postin'
  15. Here ya go: Tennessee Storm Shelters
  16. For some reason while reading the OP, I wasn't thinking "hope his eye is OK", but rather I was thinking of the scene in Superman Returns where the bad guy shoots Superman in the eye. Glad no perm. damage to the eye.
  17. But LMAO at the fact they only collected $10 for bail money for those arrested
  18. It was alright, slow that is for sure. I'll give it one or 2 more episodes before I stop watching it. They seem to have picked the right characters so there will be much "in-fighting" between them, just added drama for the sheeple. I did like the old guy, the EE from IBM.
  19. I've done it, with my father-in-laws help. Not sure what tips I can give as it was the first time I processed one, my FIL was a great supervisor Got some nice roasts, jerky meat, and even ground some up.
  20. I would like to know as well.
  21. Chocolate covered espresso beans may be found at you local Target store. these are my favorite snack, don't know why. Now get you some of the chocolate espresso beans, your favorite energy drink and you'll be good to go!
  22. Same here, I used a DS lower in my first build, not a problem.
  23. hmm, well I just brought a boat from MN to TN and traveled 70 - 75 the whole way. I did make sure I had the grease fittings fully lubed before leaving, but I never really gave it much thought, just drove and I didn't notice any problems with handling. Tire size was 8.5 x8 or something like that.
  24. Best pizza in TN? Off of my grill. Yup, I grill pizza. The wife makes the dough, I flatten it out and put it over the coals for a couple of minutes, then put the toppings on and use indrect heat to finish it off. YUMMY
  25. I am, but I still eat there. I'm not that sensitive to the peanuts... YET. Worse for me is shell fish, so I'll stay as far away from Joe's Crab Shack as I can ( and I used to love shrimp as a kid, dang allergies) Chili's sounds good too, or Huey's (love their Ruben's) if they are not posted.
