Police dash cam catches a crash, estimated speed is near 100mph. See the video at the link below. What I can't believe is the idiot survived the wreck! Cruiser cam catches 100 mph crash

Finished the other night, it was ok. I can overlook the spelling and grammatical mistakes - I make them all the time, so no biggie from a non-published author. Story was almost too unrealistic, I know it's a work of fiction. But no one in the main characters party ever got killed? Were they really that good, and the bad guys that "bad"? Kept waiting for someone in their party to get killed. Not that I wanted someone to die, but in that type of scenario, I think the "patriots" would have had more deaths. JMHO. All in all, it was a good read.

Looks good. Tat's are not for me, just don't see the point. My dad had one, it was a banner with my mom's name "Kay" in it. He got it when he was in the Navy. The last couple of years of his life I had given him a hard time about it because the "Kay" started to look like "Ray". Damn, miss my dad.

You can also take the course online, then all you have to do is go in for the "final" test and shooting req.

Nice letter, but I know he's wrong on at least one point. Clinton was the last president to receive SS protection for the rest of his life, all subsequent presidents only get it for a fixed length of time. I forget what that time limit is now. Nozzle, I like that, wish it could come true.

If the entire season would have been like the last 2 episodes, it would have been 1/2 way decent. I never did watch it "live", always DVR'd it and fast forwarded through the drama parts, I watched the show for shootin' not BS'n

Rock Island 1911 Officer Model
kckndrgn replied to inspecting1's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Another clarity question. If you put the loaded mag in and drop the slide to chamber a round, does the slide stay about and 1/8" out of battery? If so, swap the recoil spring for an 18#. I've seen that in many 1911's that are new. Shoot 500+ rounds with the heavier spring then you can go back to the factory spring, or just keep it for a spare. -
Yamaha makes low-noise, but you're gonna pay for that. db00wj - It's the ethonal that's getting put into gas now that's playing havock with the small carbs. Starting the engine for just a few minutes each month when not in "season" helps to reduce the problem. I bought a gas only generator (hey, it was on clearance at HD for $400.00 a couple of years ago). Soon after I added a tri-fuel kit to it. This allows me to run LPG, NG or Gas. I got my kit from here Generator Conversion Kits to Propane and Natural Gas. had it converted in about 15 min. I try to run my generator for 15-30 min each month. Then I top off the gas tank to reduce the amount of air in the tank (less air, less condensation). Diesel gennys are nice, they last longer, run at a lower RPM. But, I have no other diesel motors so for me, it didn't make any sense to have a diesel generator and have to store another type of gas. I keep several 5 gal gas cans on hand and they get rotated throughout the year. I have 2 2gal and 1 1 gal cans as well. The 1 gal is for mixed gas for the weed eater & chainsaw. The 2 2 gal cans are for the lawn mower. I split one 5 gal can into the 3 cans then refill the 5 gal and treat it with StaBil. If you want to quiet a noisy genny there are some youtube vids and websites that detail using a small auto muffler to quiet the engine down. Also secure anything loose on the genny itself. The handle for mine "clanks" on the frame when running so I use a small clamp to secure it, anything to reduce the sound. I've also thought about experimenting with making box to go around the genny when running. about 5ft tall, open top with some small vents near the bottom for airflow. The box would help direct the sound up, in theory, then I would put the unit under a tree, hoping the leaves/branches would breakup the sound enough to make it harder to pinpoint. don't know if it would work, but that's the theory.

Baking soda does work, somewhat, just not completely. Besides that, since I use a mylar bag inside the bucket, that pretty much blocks all vinegar smells from reaching the food, at least is did with my rice. I put 25lbs of brown rice in a mylar bag, in a 5 gal bucket. Let it set for a year. I'm now using that rice, tastes fine, no vinegar smell at all.

No problem. Also check out any grocery store that has a bakery. Ask them for their used buckets (frosting and other supplies), sometimes you get some most often you don't. I lucked out, my wife worked for a small restaurant for a while, we got the used pickle & sauerkraut buckets. Hard to get the vinegar smell out, but more often than not you can get it down to a bearable level by letting them sit out in the sun for a few days.

I can't wait for the movie to come out. I'm a fan of the original. Thought they did pretty good for the special effects tech of the day. We'll just have to wait to see how the new movie is, but it looks good.

I picked up some gray buckets from Lowes on clearance for $2.00 ea. To determine if they were food grade I got 1, brought it home and looked up the mfg. Found that they had a FAQ section, and in there they said the buckets were food grade due to using "virgin" plastic, i.e. not recycled. I do not store "directly" in my buckets, but I have mylar bags that the food goes into. I can then put a seal on the mylar to protect the contents.

Actually, I don't think any of the "survivors" in the colony has a clue about security. They're in the middle of 10 acres of run down buildings, and yet there is this "brand new VOPA" tent. That to me, is a great big beacon that says "WE GOT STUFF!!" I also agree with chadbuddy, put the meds and supplies on the second floor and remove the stairs. There's a carpenter and a general contractor - they should be able to make a ladder or some type of retractable stairway in no time. Since you're now contained on the second floor, find away to keep some "unfiltered" water boiling. The raiders attack, they get a bath with boiling water. Using the milk to take the "sting" out of their eye was a waste in my opinion. Yeah, I know it hurts, and will hurt for some time. I would imagine that without any soap to wash the stuff off, over the next couple of day as they sweat, it will get into their eyes again. I will say that the raiders see more aggressive this time around, less chest thumping and more attacking. How would you secure your 10 acres of land?

HMMM, I might try to get there one day. I need to try to sell a rifle to get some extra cash.

Macaroni Grill - by Wolfchase That is the favorite of the wife so by default it's mine too As far as BBQ? I don't go out for it any more, not since I started making my own. Nothing compares to making your own ribs (5hrs on the grill) or pulled pork (12+ hrs). The first time I make pulled pork, I got up at 4:30 am to start the grill, the wife thought I was NUTS. At dinner time she changed her tune and said I could get up early to make pulled port ANYTIME I wanted - and she often asks for me to make it. The last 3 years for Mothers Day she has requested my BBQ ribs.

thanks for the links! The LDS have a pdf that details how to prep over the course of one year: LDS Emergency/disaster Preparedness (I'm not affiliated in any way with the LDS, just use their manual as a reference) Anybody know if the Pepsi plant in Collierville sells/gives away their old drums? For storage I've got these pdf's http://www.rmcmullen.org/garagesale/Pantry/Canned%2520Food%2520Rotator%2520brochure%25206-1-06.pdf http://www.rmcmullen.org/garagesale/Pantry/pantry1.pdf

There was that one, then another one a week or so ago when a member of the blue team took aim, then looked away as he shot. he did it once in training with the Beretta as well.

Ya know, I watch the show, but only the competition parts. Since I record it, I just fast forward through all the drama (and commercials).

I'm in need of someone that can work on the AC system in my van in the Memphis area. I've taken it to one place and got a quote of $1k plus (on a van that is worth maybe $4k). I do know the compressor is shot and the cooling fan that is supposed to kick in when the AC is on is also out. If somebody knows how to do this and has the right equipment and can tell me what parts I'll need I can get the parts if you can help me install. The van is driven by the wife, she's not happy that there is no AC in her vehicle. If the wifes not happy, I'm not happy. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
