You'll loose 15-20 % power if you convert to LP. I had a neighbor who converted his pickup and car back during the gas crunch of the 1970s and he was not happy with the power loss with the LP. I had a propane powered genset in a motorhome that was rated at 6KW on LP and 7KW on gasoline. My biggest problem on that mobile unit was the oil that is in the bottom of the propane tank causing deterioration to the diaphrams in the propane regulators. The oil would probably not be a problem in small portable tanks where it is in a mobile tank. I would think long and hard before I converted.......but that is me. Gasoline of current makeup will go bad rather quickly even if you use Stabil or other preservative. If you want to meet some where in Athens on Sat bring the genset and I'll take a look at it and won't charge you anything but parts. I'll PM my phone number. oldogy

Welcome to TGO and happy New Year. I kinda like the S&W wheel guns too, have a couple of them. oldogy

They are fine little tools for the money. So easy to conceal. A friend has carried one for quite a while and I almost bought one on his recommendation. I opted for the PF9 instead, a bit cheaper to shoot and it proved to be easier to obtain ammo for. No, they're not a fun gun to shoot. oldogy

Let us see, now. 1.Bad guy makes threats, serious threats of violence. 2.LEOs do their job, arrest BG. 3.BG throws tantrum when arrested. 4.BG appears before judge. 5.Judge lets BG loose on $100. bail. Question: Who failed society? 1. LEOs 2. Judge 3. BG 4. Al Frankin

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all. I kinda remember the grade school civics lesson that came with learning the pledge, many years ago, even before "under God" was added. oldogy

"The stupid is strong with this one..." (D. Vader)

ROFLMAO. That one is going to be hard to top. What a bunch of clowns. Don't they realize you may need that machete to scrape a barnacle or two. Or very least, use it to quickly part a line. oldogy, who is still laughing at what has to be the story of the year. -
Yes, I too, have seen this way too many times. I called a guy on it a while back and he did not like it very much, mumbling something under his breath.... oldogy

Yep, when the pressure is on think nocturnal and thickets. The doe and fawns are coming into my place during dark hours. I did see what I thought was a buck heading for the pine thicket early Saturday morning, too far for a positive ID. oldogy

Wonderful. Thanks for posting. I read each and every ad for those wonderful creations. I still have my model 99, I believe it is. oldogy

IMO and IM experience, the age of the ammunition has little to do with how it fires. Condition, corrosion, discolored lead on the real old stuff, don't mess with it. My experience is that old ammunition either goes bang or is a dud. oldogy, who has cautiously shot some very old ammunition.

So as to not get too much thread drift I'll comment on government failure to listen to the voters and doing what they want. At one time, yes during Bush 11, polls showed around 70% wanted the borders controlled and the illegals thrown out. We see how that was handled. Until the elected critters get their playhouse cleaned out they'll do damn well what they please, voters be damned. oldogy

Yeah, I got my reply from Corker also. Is Lamar on the fence as he is on so many important issues? oldogy

President Obama's Nobel Prize Remarks
oldogy replied to BigPoppa's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The whole thing of the prize was a sham. Eleven days on the job and nominated for the NPP????? That just cheapens the award. What ever he said is meaningless. oldogy -
Congratulations. Nice buck, nice rack. oldogy

Hi Standard Sentinel or variation thereof. I still have the one I bought in 1956 or 1957. Walked into the local hardware store, the kind with all the guns and ammunition displayed on wooden shelves on the walls behind the wooden counter, all sitting on wooden floors. (Some of you old guys may remember) Just laid down my cash and walked out with the gun. No permit, no background check. Just a little more than a "snot nosed kid" buying his first hand gun. I have put many a round through the gun, camped with it rain, snow, hot, cold. Still tight and shoots good although not as pretty as it was in 1957. Enjoy it, I certainly have enjoyed mine. oldogy

Thanks for posting, valuable lessons to be learned. If the tool is not accessible it is worthless. Would your wife really have killed a family member's dog? I would have a problem doing that myself unless the dog was known to be unstable and or vicious. Sometimes we never know what sets a dog off. Last year about this time I was at a Christmas party where an 11 year old was bitten by the host's 20lb terrier type dog. The dog had shown no prior signs of aggression to anyone there, had made his rounds among all attendees with the usual sniffs and wags. The kid lives with a 90 lb German Shepherd and does just fine around my 90 lb GSD, so it was not a fear of dog type thing?????? We were all seated around tables when the 11 YO jumped and cried out that the dog had bitten him on the leg, definitely unprovoked, no eye contact or anything like that. Inspection revealed a puncture wound but since the dog had all his shots it was dropped at that. Glad all turned out well for your family. oldogy

Looks like fun for you young guys. I woke up to a similar scene many years ago when bear hunting in the George Washington National Forest. oldogy,
