  1. remington 870 with 18 inch barrel. look for a used one to save money.
  2. welcome
  3. i am glad you where not hurt bad. sometimes it is hard to run down why these things happen. you can see some case head seperation. case head seperation is hard to track down, could be weak brass, hot load, hard to tell.
  4. nice job.
  5. around 225.00 for the stainless gun. don't count the scope in the deal. unless if it was a named brand, then you would add it to the deal. the blue model at wal mart are around 200.00. so you can buy new some times cheaper,,,, but it is not stainless.
  6. yes i do. go over to the cast boolits site for info. there are some books out there to read. get a bottom pour pot, it just works better. lyman pots are cheaper that rcbs and to me work just as good. you will need a luber sizer, lube, sizer dies, and top punches. you will also need bullet molds. then you got to find some lead. i use wheel weights, but now they are getting hard to find and when you do they got zinc weights in the mix. but as long as i can get cast lead bullets cheap i don't break out my cast equipment.
  7. i carry a model 60 that i got in the 80's as my "bug" on duty. the hammer is bobbed and it got the clip draw clip on it. this gun replaced my model 36 pin barrel as my bug. i carry hydro shock +p+ ammo that is issue at work in it.
  8. make one with your sons.
  9. i got an 1950 model remington rifle that shoots 22 shorts, longs and long rifle. in pistol i got an german made cowboy gun that was made in the 70's. it is 22 and 22 mag. pick it up at the rod and bottle in germany in the 70's.
  10. they are not hard to break down. once you do it you will find that you can do it fast and easy. look at the u-tube videos, they help some. but the best is the owners manual. just follow it and you will find it to be easy. i shoot my offen, all most weekly, clean it little. so it get a heavy build up of crap and it keeps on working.
  11. wife does. a kel tec p32 with fiochi fmj ammo.
  12. when i am in the area i stop by, they act like they don't care if you buy anything or not.
  13. no problems with them.
  14. check midway for the best deals on scales. i also have been looking for some, looking for 30 plus years. still using the old beam scale from 1970.
  15. the 550 are the older ones, the 550 b is newer. i got a 550 in 1982, don't know when they change over to the 550 b, but it was not much later. i would buy a new one from dillon. the ones on ebay go to high and you don't know what you need to do to it to make it run. dillon will send repair parts free. i know, over the years i have gotten some for my 550. just last week dillon sent me a new primer system. i would not start out reloading with one. i would get a good used single stage press to learn and later move up to the dillon.
  16. it is not hard working on a 1911. if you can do a full break down of your glock then you can do the same with a 1911. not hard, easy to do. there are many sites and books on how to do it. look around. back in the 70's & 80's i use to build 1911 from parts that i got at the shows. but that was before the government got involed in gun shows and gun shows turned into knife and beef jerky shows. use to be boxes and boxes of military parts at every show, everything that you needed to build a complete gun. cheap too. not now.
  17. take a box along, that should do it.
  18. you need to beef up the top. you don't want any flex in the top. make sure you have an over hang on the top. 2x4 frame will work, just make a big foot print so it will not rock.
  19. dick's is high on their ammo. they are high on all of their stuff. i can find it cheaper else where.
  20. i like the kel tec. not a bad gun for the price.
  21. no problems.
  22. yes, welcome to the dark side. glock are the way to go.
  23. good save. now get ready to buy her a new one. you can fix your old one for under $50.00 yourself,,, but when the wife wants a new one, you better get the new one. lets see $50.00 or $500.00 which one is better?? to a man the $50.00 is better.
  24. i think some will put/use/clean with just about anything when it comes to guns.
