No joke! Burned my way through childhood.
-
Absolutely beautiful piece.

It is true that I can do anything I put my mind to. There’s just less that I tend to put my mind to.
-
This life is indeed preparation for the beginning.

I want to see this movie. I’ve been hearing good things about it. I’ve also been hearing that the “Helly-weird” elites are mad about it, which, to me, is also hearing good things about it.
-
I hate to hear that. I’ve been watching him for about as long as I can remember. He was one of my favorites.
-
Ha! I haven’t gotten brave enough to start having her look for flaws.

That tri-fold in burgundy or oxblood is !

That’s a valid statement. When I make something I know where the flaws are and it bothers me.

The sheath on the right was requested by a gentleman a while back for an Esee 5. He wanted the scales dyed as well. While he was waiting he sent word that he had given his grandson the same knife and wanted one built for him too. Then he saw a picture of a holster I had made for a friend of mine with initials on it, so he asked if I could put his grandson’s initials on it. I said sure, I’ll do that. A little later he asked if I could do an arrow with fletching and a flint-knapped broadhead. I said well I’m not sure but I’m a-gonna try it. (Plum skeered at that point) So the sheath on the left is the one built for his grandson. The picture below is the grandson’s sheath in the raw with a little bit of design on the belt loop. I’m not the artistic type so it took me a while to do all that. There’s still some things I don’t like about it and I’d very much love to be able to improve on not only adding designs, but everything I’m doing. I hope he likes them.

Sounds like you have some good churches in your area. I wish there were some around here like that.

A little late on my reply here, but, this looks like it’ll be a nice one. It seems that 10mm almost suffered a miserable death all those years ago when “somebody” decided it was “too powerful” and neutered it down to that shortened abomination. Seems like the venerable 10 just lingered in a sort of purgatory after that. I don’t currently own a 10mm but I wish I did. Like you, I just don’t want to reintroduce another caliber to have to feed. I’ve always looked at the 10 as one of the finest handgun cartridges ever invented. We’ve all had our opinions on which is the best semiauto cartridge and which is the best revolver cartridge, but I’ve always seen the 10 as one of the finest handgun cartridges in general. Just good overall. I’m glad to see it making a resurgence. I’d have a hard time seeing where anyone would be disappointed in that FN.

There are some things that a man wishes he could un-see…

Thank you for that resource. I don’t know why he never popped up on all the searches I did. I just started on his first video. This looks like what I need.

Instead of resurrecting some of the older radio threads, I figured I’d ask here. I know there’s some hams on here. I need to know where to get started. I need real beginner level information. I mean ground level, white belt, pre-school, Forrest Gump, don’t know jack doodley beginner level. I’ve gone ahead and bought a couple cheap radios to get started with after I study up and get licensed. Right now though, I admittedly don’t even know where to get started with the learning.

On a good note, on more than one occasion seller/buyer/ trader has gone out of their way to come to me. One feller in particular on here, and I wish I could remember his name, drove from way the heck away and met me in Dickson. Seems like I was buying a 1911 from him or maybe trading for it. That’s been years ago and I think I remember offering to drive farther towards his location but he wouldn’t hear of it. Said he drives all over to do this stuff and enjoys it. Just another good example of the true caliber of people on here. There are bad apples everywhere and they do cause a lot of inconvenience and justified anger, but rest assured they are absolutely not a true representation of the majority here.

Thank you. That’s good information I need. The FN pistols do have a great feel, and I’d love for us to have something more accurate. The internal parts are what I’d worry about. I haven’t thought to look up an exploded parts diagram but I’ll do that when I get to the office today.

I’m seriously considering switching my department over to the FN509 MRD-LE. We issued the Glock G23 for a very long time. A couple of years ago we switched to the Gen 5 G19, but the chief at the time did not get the optics ready models, which he later regretted. Now I want to make some changes. If we don’t do anything else at all, I’m going to trade for some G45 MOS pistols to replace everything. BUT, we’ve been taking a hard look at the FN. And before I get the “BG” answers (But Glock….!), I know, I know, I know! I’ve been packing glocks on duty for over 25 years, I’m the department glock armorer, and I’ve owned a ton of them myself. But, I’ve always kind of hated them. However, that’s not the reason for looking at something else. Sure, glocks are pretty well known for their reliability. Accuracy? Well I won’t take the time to get into that. The question is - can we do better? So, to FN. I know some of the FN pistols had some problems (FNS maybe?). Does anyone have any information on specifically the FN509 MRD-LE in 9mm? I know LAPD chose this particular one, but I’m not a follower or a band wagon rider so I want to find out everything I can before making a final decision. I plan on taking a few weeks to do research so any useful information would be appreciated.

Had it happen to me on here several (many) years back. Decided I wanted an M1A a young man had posted on here. Decided I’d take it, communicated that fact to him (clearly), had the deal all worked out (I thought), and whaddaya know - surprise, surprise. Some business owner swooped right in there at the last second, after the deal was supposedly set in stone, and wooed the young feller with no telling what and I found myself flapping in the breeze. Never did file a complaint or leave any feedback at the time. Didn’t figure it would do any good. Sure left a burr under my saddle though and only increased my skepticism and mistrust of people. Thankfully I believe the VAST majority of folks on here to be honest and upright. Any time I have done any actual buying or trading on here, every single man I’ve dealt with has gone above and beyond. So don’t be discouraged. Most on here will do to ride the river with.

Ok. So we're not alone in the universe. So what happens when they (out there) find out that earth dwellers are stupid? They probably already know since they've probably already encountered Joe Mullet Methhead living in a camper somewhere. On a more serious note, I've always wondered about these types of things. There's a whole lot out there that remains unexplained.

Oh, you mean the young couples who are just out of “Kollidge” and he’s an intern at a paper clip factory and she’s a part time puppy manicurist and they have a budget of 3.5 million to go toward their “rustic” cabin as their second home? Those people?

I guess I have a few favorites, but I always keep leaning to my Smith 66 (paired with my 640)

You know, it’s a shame poor ole Rob had to travel all the way here from across the pond only to get mixed up with us crazy rednecks
