  1. That’s awesome! I need one of those. What’s the range on that thing?
  2. Always loved the feel of a good quality AK. Wish I hadn’t been stupid enough to let mine go so many years ago.
  3. Well this’ll probably fix that. This gender reveal stuff is ignorant. Everybody’s gotta be the focus of attention. Although with redneck shenanigans like this, this family surely can’t be all bad.
  4. One cup stacked inside the other. Fill cup. Leave about three inches of room at top. Get to the important stuff. Remove dry cup from bottom. Pour spiced rum about three inches deep. Pour slush puppy from other cup. Insert straw. Have a better day. Or....one would imagine that is perhaps the way to do it. I wouldn’t know.

INDEED! He is risen and sits at the right hand of the Father
  6. Sounds like you have one of those rare commodities call a good wife, AND you get to work with some warriors. Sounds like a good deal all around.
  7. That’s because most of it IS expensive.
  8. They are glued. I've never understood why Springfield does that.
  9. Did that today. This ought to wrap me up good for quite a while now (unless I trade my range officer compact for a Champion size). Only thing I need to do now is find something else to lust after.
  10. You have my curiosity going. What exactly is it that you do that very few people know how to do? You may have to answer that in terms that a farmer/cop/truck driver can understand of course.
  11. I’m pondering on one of those right now. Same friend I bought the TRP from. I don’t need to buy another one right now but I’m afraid he’s going to call me in a couple days and make me one of those Godfather offers and I’ll be on the way back up there.
  12. Well I have figured one thing out! I have had other 1911’s with full length guide rods and I could break them down without having to use a paper clip or something to capture it. So far.....not this one! This guide rod has got to go. I’ve seen where people have changed the full length rods in these particular guns to the GI rod and carried on. I’ll be ordering one from 10-8 Performance along with their stainless reverse plug.
  13. Just acquired a Springfield TRP Operator today. Been wanting a TRP for a long time. Still not sure about the rail and bull (ish) barrel with full length guide rod. Figured out real quick that I REALLY like the aggressive front strap checkering that I’ve heard folks complain about. Just wondering who’s had experience with these. Figured I’d try it a while and see if it’s right for me. This is a picture I found on the web. Can’t seem to get my actual picture to upload. Says it exceeds the limit.
  14. I had left my number with the local feed mill on Wednesday. He said he'd find me some within a week. Yesterday I got a call from a friend of mine. Turns out he and his lady have several different breeds, and they are just up the road from me. I'll be going over there next Thursday and getting an education. Might come away with some birds too.
  15. I'm glad you brought that up. I didn't know that.
  16. Thanks for all the replies. I’ll keep pursuing it. Should have my pen ready next week. Looking forward to it since I normally eat a minimum of 3-4 eggs a day, plus the occasional times my wife might eat them, plus using them to cook with. For the sake of not being overrun I think I’ll start out with 6-8. Should be able to maintain my egg fix with that amount.
  17. Who has experience keeping chickens? I did it while growing up, but that’s been a little while (mid-1800’s it seems). I’m about to set up my coop and pen. I think I can go with about a half dozen good laying hens to meet my egg eating habit. I’m learning about what they call sex linked chickens, and also about Barred Rock. The Barred seems like a hardy breed. I’m hoping to be able to get them to lay a decent amount year round, so I’m not sure if I’m looking at the right breeds yet, or if it even has anything to do with the breed at all. Could be how they’re kept, I dunno. Any experienced advice would be appreciated though.
  18. “Boy I TOLD you to git in this here car. I got plans fer you!”
  19. Thanks Patton. I had always seen the other kind before, including in all the video reviews and articles I’d seen, but then, it’s been a while since I’ve messed with 1911s. I thought all this time that someone had swapped it out. But the one you posted is exactly what I have. Have you been able to remove it from the slide without using the tool?
  20. Not this one here, which matches all the factory units I’ve seen. The one in mine is similar to this EGW unit, except that it looks like a melonite type finish
  21. I used to have a Champion Operator Lightweight. I really miss that one. I do like the "Commander" size.
  22. I don't know if anyone here has one of these, but I just acquired one from a friend of mine (looked interesting, grabbed it. You know how it is.) I haven't even had a chance to wring it out yet. I'll try to get to that in the next several days. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them and what your impression is. I'm not sure yet about the officer sized frame with commander (ish) length slide. I might very well find myself trading it down the road for a full size frame. Other than that, it seems to be a very nice little gun. Seems well put together, and I hear they are accurate. I do really like the nice slim grips they put on them. And, it looks like someone had upgraded from the aggravating factory recoil spring assembly to a solid guide rod and flat spring. Not sure who made it, but it resembles the ones put out by Wilson and EGW. Still have to insert a pin or something into the guide rod hole to capture the spring. I did try disassembly by removing the slide and trying to remove the guide rod from the bottom. I've been able to get away with that before, but the recoil spring in this one is a bear, and I didn't feel like my wife taking a picture of me with the whole recoil assembly sticking up my nose before she took me away for surgery, so I just stuck with the pin method. What do y'all think about these Compacts?
  23. Look up Council Tool. I love mine. Made in USA.
