  1. you sound alot like me, when i want something that way, that is the way it is going to be. most of the time i end up paying a liitle more but i have what i want! try calling YHM, if you look at the last picture on "have you seen a AR like this" that YHM was out of stock, but before the wife even got to shot it i broke the barrel and called them and had a barrel on way! do not ask!
  2. Tim, does NTPS want borrow the rifle steel again?
  3. i think the term you are looking is lighten ( made lighter, less wieght) as they stated if is factory then it is okay, G17 should be fine. now a G17C or any Glock with a C after the number is ported and not okay to use, but fun to shoot at night.
  4. check double star, for some pricing or model 1 sales. most do not think much of model 1 but the ones i have seen will do what are asking. for 20" 1 x 7 barrel i would think it will hard to find "in stock" for YHM prices. if do not already know most rifle length quad rails will add plenty of wieght. you left off several good barrel makers, but they will be more than you wanting to spend. last month white oak had same great sale prices. check rainer arms, that carry several brands but they tend to be upper end, i thick they still had some Sabre barrels also, and they made very good barrels. have you looked at black hole?
  5. thank you! for posting also thanks for the good looking barrel
  6. Wilson Combat had the KZ for many years, a plastic full size 10 1911. it looked and shot well. now the colt 1991 had a lot of plastic like the trigger etc, it was aweful, to me anyway. luckly the were not on the market every long.
  7. if she can not rack a slide, then i am wonder how she control could the 44? they are heavy to start with. then i would think the recoil would have her hitting herself on her head. then in my 2 cents, a semi would not run ( most plastic frame) it would be stove piped on most rounds. with glock been the worst for for one who could be limp wristing.

dont take this the wrong way, BUT if i wasn't so many drugs already i would have to hit you up for some! high is paying more than $14 with free shipping. for a pmag, most standard mags are common at around $10. the mag pul Emag was going for around 30. but why do I/you need one, the pmags seem to do fine in a ACR, SCAR may be different.

it kinda depends on you are calling a pesky critter, i very prefer a 1 x 7 twist you could still shoot a 55 or 60 grain v-max if the critter is small, yes a tad of over kill but you could use a 70 grains barnes if it is a four legged white tail. or a 75 or 77 grain if it is a herd of wild golfs at 400-500 yards. for $695 white oak makes some uppers that fit the bill complete uppers, free float tube, BCG barrel lengths to 26" the scope will put well above the $1200 but with out them $1200 should cover it. FYI scope and mount $1000. picture by alleycat this one shot out to 1000 yards with a white oak 20" barrel it had a X ring hit a couple of 10 ring and 2 misses.
  11. https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7af74146ed15d194&Bsrc=Photomail&Bpub=SDX.Photos&id=7AF74146ED15D194!202&sff=1 i hope this is the link to the wife's Tac-2 and yes it was the cool facter that got her to want to shoot rifle. plus the vendor let her try it out. if some can get the picture to post please do. Thank you!
  12. that's what i thought the rifle was return back to him, and was just longer made by Para.
  13. also, she got the pelican case it is much nice than the leather. it was $1050 or $1100. i think.
  14. the wife has one, it is a TAC-2, hers has a YHM barrel and the damn thing with the 60 grain V-max is unbelivable accurate. and stays in its brief case. point of impact never changes. you always know where it will hit. hated the finish on the barrel, sent it to wilson combat and now with the YHM cuts on the barrel it looks as good as it shoots. also i fix the ring or collar on the barrel to keep it from scaring up the barrel finish. tomorrow i will see if she post a pic.

so it is a lot different, more main stream and not a basic model.

    AR-? Help me decide!

as everyone has said the bullet hits were the dot is no matter were it appears to be in the red dot site. that is why i have one on each of the wife's AR's because i am a terrible teacher, and this makes it easier for her and myself. just like when you were younger you knew NOT to be the one to teach your girl friend/wife how to drive a 5 speed.

i was thinking the sport was a flat top, with a removeable rear sight, if so then what is "optics ready". and now you at about 1k so that should be alot different AR.

    AR-? Help me decide!

i myself do not like a front sight with a eotech, if the eotech was to fail, unless you are tactical ted planning for standing off bad guys at range if the target is in the window of the eotech centered of course you will not miss. remember the first sight is a gas block, just replace it no need for a dremel. just a note on my M & P the front was pinned and it was a bi-ch.

not sure what you are asking, the sport is a nice low $ AR, but at the same time there many out there much more high end that do not have a dust cover or forward assit. i thought they had a forward assist but anyway i know 2 guys at work who really like them and say they shoot great.
  21. nope, but most machine shop can thread the barrel, then you can just screw it off and on as needed. just be sure you find out what the standard threading is for your caliber.
  22. nice info, what is the difference between the 930 and 935? did the 935 fix the 930 issues?
  23. if it was a safe or = i would have said nothing, try a pm to mike if you can not figure it out. i myself would not repost it.
