  1. Admittedly its a bad example, @papa61 pointed out the flaws to me in that point not long ago. I think a better example may be....or maybe isnt....going onto a car forum and wanting to restrict the ability of an individual to own a car that outputs over 200HP or can go over 80mph. Youre probably gonna run into some strong strong objections. Also cars aren't protected under the constitution so thats also a factor i neglect in my rough analogy. Like i said its not very good. With regard to legislation on constructing your own firearms..... the point in contention is the "80%" arms industry and if they are too easy for a person to make a firearm with. I would think it would be useful for the law to define exactly. With current context, what is "too easy" when it comes to a "80%" kit. Just get that out of the way. If the glock kits they were selling were "too easy" just go ahead, draw that line and leave people to it. But with the ATF tomorrow my pink socks could be NFA items so who knows.
  2. I just super glue guns to my hands. Upsides: can't loose it, and I'm always at the ready. Downsides: one minute youre trying to unzip your pants in the bathroom...Then bam....surprise gender reassignment.
  3. I do the ol' "I've always had that dont worry about it" or my favorite: "I didn't buy it i traded something for it"
  4. Yeah, I would prefer seeing someone step back. Realize they're loosing their cool and just move on. The other part is that a lot of people, since they're local, know each other in real life. I know a good number of people on here that I've met along the way. Because of that I tend to look at the people on this site as REAL PEOPLE. Its something you don't get most places. Tell her when she ignores you then you get lonely....when you get lonely you buy new guns. Its a vicious cycle.
  5. I look at it like this. CTD always has ammunition, and if one was desperate enough to pay.... say 2.00$ a round for 9mm then they are guaranteed to get some from CTD. Ill never buy anything from them but they don't force me to do so, so its cool.
  6. I'm not gonna defend the post @The Big Guy made here..... I dont even wanna touch on that. I've known him personally for about.... 7 years I would say. Met him in high-school working at a local hardware store. Graduated college with him. He's always been a very reliable freind to me. He got me into firearms and I have to say...he's a master class IDPA shooter. He did IDPA semi-professionally in Florida for a lot of years before he came to Tennessee. Personally, I dont like feeling MAD at people....or in general. If you feel like your argument with someone online is making you MAD you need to walk away from it. GOD KNOWS I have asshole moments, I almost always wind up regretting my demeanor. I know I can't really convey this here in a meaningful way but @The Big Guy isn't such a bad guy, he just let's himself get..... passionate. Some of you have probably even met him around east tennessee and if you did you would instantly get along with him. He has that effect. But like I said he can get a bit too intense. BUT! It is what it is. You burn bridges youre gonna get wet getting back.
  7. I'm sorry to hear about that. Freind of my uncles had been caught with a homemade machine gun (i think he used an m3 parts kit) back in the 80s. All he said was he would have given anything to just make it disappear. Cost him a lot of money to not be sent away for 10 years. I mean a looooot. The ATF sucks and they make it their personal mission to suck and make life suck for you if they get their hands on you. I deeeeeespise the ATFyou but no shame in picking your battles. Theres better hills to die on. Not MANY. But some.
  8. Oh God, I used to get those from the fleamarket when I was a kid. I would bang it around until it broke and then next time I went back I would just get another one. I dont know how many of those I went through.
  9. I get you, what I'm trying to say is this: (I can see that you have some emotional turmoil tied into the topic of 9/11 in this thread so I first want to assure you that this is not me advocating for any theories of conspiracy tied to 9/11 or otherwise. I know you have some emotional trauma and I'm not trying to antagonize you.) I'm only establishing that a conspiracy is not defacto false and uncredable. That is the main stream conception but it is wrong I can verify this simply, again, with no attachment to any specific conspiracy or facets. JUST TO SAY THAT A CONSPIRACY == FALSE all the time you would need to prove conspiracies never happen. the definition of a conspiracy is this: a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. If you believe all conspiracies are false you are immediately and demonstrably wrong. but this is my main point: calling something a conspiracy does not derail it and make the accused immune to all facts and evidence therein ascribed to point to that conspiracy. If I present to you a happening with factual evidence someone is intellectually dishonest, or lazy to immediately dismiss all of the verifiable facts to the subject on the grounds that the facts point to a conspiracy. I would further state that In "pop-culture" conspiracies are used to ridicule or silence individuals with (possibly) factual claims from having the claims heard. further, you would note me not saying anything about "making up alternative facts" the term "alternative facts" is an oxymoron. there are only the facts, and they point to the truth, and some people may not like that truth but it is what it is.
  10. a conspiracy is not always a crazy tin-foil-hat concept that should always be seen negatively. Thats the "pop" definition of a conspiracy (see UFOs and big foot) something being a conspiracy and being debatable is not mutually exclusive. Something can be a conspiracy or a suspected conspiracy and be open to debate. I see a lot of people using the term "conspiracy" to derail and argument, if you present facts to support a supposition or an observation or whatever you like then simply calling those facts part of a conspiracy does not make them any less relevant to the argument. I would go as far to say that in the modern context the term conspiracy is used as censorship language far more often than used correctly. Its important to entertain a wide range of possibilities when you're discussing something that no one here has any insight into beyond what we are told or what we are shown. From the most ridiculous to the most mundane I beleive.
  11. Sell it for scrap. The hat market was looking red this year.
  12. I, admittedly, don't know enough about it. I just thought it was a good analogy at the time. Ill look more into it.
  13. When I did it at the DMV I was just given the option and I paid. Of course, they make you attest that you can posses a permit, but I dont beleive there was a second background check. Atleast not like initially is done. I also know people with squeaky clean records denied sales for no reason and then be fine the next day.
  14. Its getting kinda spicy on that front. I suspect that any new stepping will be on that as well.
  15. I'll apologize to all, for what I said. Im an A$$hole and I know it and its not fair to sling anything at anyone and its not right. Ill also say this, when someone claims your peaceful activity should be illegal you should be offended. They're saying although you harm no one you should be forced into a cage for what you enjoy doing. Don't call yourself a libertarian if thats the way you think. You're not a libertarian. Many a right has gone down the drain because Republicans will actively support "common sense" restrictions and that leads to openings for further legislation to chip away at your rights. Also, i don't beleive you should have to compromise in a situation where your actions and or the ownership of property is peaceful and does not directly result in harm to others. Murder is illegal, assualt is illegal. Do we need to go further? Do we need to ban hammers and ice picks? Where is the line? Further why is it at that exact spot? Why stop at hommade firearms?
  16. I'm like dr. Seuss I make it up as I go along, but yes you are pro regulation. Thats against free ownership. Call it what you want. Its like going to a car forum and arguing for tighter emissions standards.
  17. Why, lately, are there anti-gun people on a progun form arguing against gun rights? Did the short buss have a wreck up the street?
  18. There was a company that made 80% receivers back around 2014 or so that placed a nylon plug in the trigger/firecontrol group pocket. The ATF ruled that because the nylon couldn't be easily removed it wasn't a firearm. Then a year later raided the place because they decided, in a wild hair moment, that they were too easy to turn into a firearm. Based on the video it looks like the pistol kits were the problem but I dont have any experience with the pistol kits to know what is required.
  19. Defund the ATF, maybe divert the funds to local LE that actually deals with the communities and crime and not violating the 2A.
  20. The tiny ballerina sold me I sent this link to my girlfriend and she sent this back saying "does it come with the butt balarina"
