  1. The "Posse" is their Sheriff Reserve program. You will be required to attend training (subject to 40 hours of In-service each year) qualification with your service weapon, pass the background check, etc. etc. If you are serious, shoot me your contact info and I can put you in touch with one of them.
  2.   I think the correct term is "equal opportunity lover" or as the French say "TGODavid"  :pleased:
  3. Space Shuttle Door Gunner/ Scuba Ninja.    Shoot dudes from outer space, water infil to attack pirates with Ninja trickery
  4.   The HHC in a standard line Battalion isnt that bad. You are one of 4 or 5 ISGs, and deal with a Company and Battalion Commander, and the CSM. I could do that job standing on my head.   The Brigade HHC ISG gig?  YES! It truly sucks the big one! So, I am the First Sergeant, herding cat over no less than 10 Master Sergeants, about a million SFC, AND the Ops Sergeant Major, plus the Brigade CSM. That's just on the NCO side... Add Full Bird Colonel, 3 LTC, about 6 or 7 Majors, and then there is the COC (pronounced "COCK") which is my Corp of Captains (about 15-18 strong)...   Morning formation wants me to kill baby pandas
  5. So, what do you guys think?  Pirates or Ninjas?
  6.   Now THAT is the way to party!   Speaking of OBC....I taught Military Science for MTSU's ROTC program for a few years prior to going down to 20th Group. Talk about overpaid Babysitting...I wanted to choke those little bastards on a daily basis!!!!!
  7. Regarding 670-1 and APFT failures   No sh*t!, there I was.................!!!!!   I am the First Sergeant of a Brigade HHC, so I'm sure you can feel my pain!  (Field Grade Officers outnumber the Privates)   During 10+ years of GWOT, the Army has turned a blind eye to many things; Uniform and grooming standards, NCOES requirements, APFT, etc. etc. etc.   The good news?  The Army is getting smaller. And with that, more selective on who they allow to remain in service (Active AND Reserve/NG) We no longer need every mouth-breather that is willing to sign on the dotted line.   Word from the top? The SMA has issued the official "You'd better check yourself, before you wreck yourself" -Grooming standards haven't increased; but we are back to enforcing the standards we abandoned 10 years ago. -Can't pass your PT test? Be prepared to get discharged. -600-9 No Go?  Same thing; Make the tape, or get out. ** We are back to requiring a PT test on Zero Day at all NCOES and MOS producing schools.   We were allowing students to bring a 705 from their unit to meet the -APFT requirement (which you KNOW were getting pencil whipped by some) but those days are over! -Got a really good 240 gunner that is a complete f^ck-tard anywhere but outside the wire?  * You know the guy; broken moral compass, APFT failure, writes bad checks, can't get his security clearance, doesn't want to go to WLC, total failure in garrison and on the FOB/COP....but rocks the 240 like Tactical Jesus?  Guess what? The Army is back to the mindset that a Warrior outside the wire needs to be a solid Soldier inside the wire. (go figure) The list goes on, but you get the point...   /Standards Rant
  8. So we have decided what caliber, underwear, holster, and vehicle brand...   Have you guys forgotten the most important decision of all?     CAKE?  or  PIE?
  9. A few thoughts....   The "free ride to Camden" video is typical Yeager. At least he is consistent. I do agree with his opinion that it is way too easy to sit behind your computer and talk smack about someone. If you don't have the balls to put your REAL name in a thread, or say the same thing to the guy in person, you should STFU. The "issue" I would take from it is his description of "a little thing in Iraq..."  I don't know man, I would say that to the families of the KIA, it's still a pretty big fucking deal!   Regarding that fateful day; I haven't, nor will I ever try to MMQB his actions. I wasn't there. Like many have said, stuff goes sideways and things get wonky pretty fast in combat. Who knows if the outcome had been different if he hadn't brain-farted the transmission, or if he hadn't "gotten off the X" What I DO know is his AAR comments immediately following the ambush (you know, the one where everyone fucked up, and he was the only one that did the right thing" are arrogant and tasteless at best.  (My opinion, and one that I am more than happy to share with him in person) I also feel that the way he has shown little compassion for the KIA is classless.  (Again, my opinion that I am willing to share in person)   Do I think Yeager dropped the ball that day?  Who cares, it doesnt matter. What does matter is that men he called Brothers In Arms are dead. Is it possible that those KIA are dead by their own (in)actions? Sure, quite possible. Do you blast them in the AAR and then open source to anyone that will listen?  Nah, sometimes you honor your dead with silence and respect. *Make sure that TTPs are reviewed and lessons learned. But honor those men, and don't use them as a way to self promote.   Other thoughts on Yeager- - James, while abrasive and too "in your face" for my liking, does make valid points from time to time. Is he always right? no.  Is he always wrong? nope.  Like you should do with any person or trainer you come in contact with; take what you need from him, and dump the rest.   - James is one hell of a fundraiser for many pro-gun, pro 2A, and pro youth shooting sports programs. His support of the Friends of NRA is amazing.  I personally appreciate his hard work and financial support of these programs.   - Finally, at least one person mentioned the word SOLDIER when referring to James in their post. For the record, James is not, nor has he ever been a Soldier, or any other form of US Servicemember.  He is not a "Veteran" of the Armed Forces.   *Edited to fix some spelling oversights.

  17. That show makes my head hurt. BTW; if anyone wants to be on Gunsmoke (or whatever the other stupid show is called) shoot me an email sales@battlemug.com The producers are BEGGING for people to come in as "unscripted" customers.
  18. With OPSEC in consideration; I was the convoy commander for a large portion of what you saw, which are organic and task organized elements of a Battlefield Surveillance Brigade. They (we) are participating in an exercise called Vibrant Response 13 Public Info: http://www.arnorth.army.mil/News/Vibrant-Response--13.aspx Or google for more. The route; 65/840/40/Briley/65 was a beast. Think of the logistics of moving 400+ vehicles and 1000s of troops over public roads...
  19. Improper plualization certainly ranks lower on the "what's important with rounds inbound" scale, but I can't tell you how crazy it makes when when I hear a Senior NCO say Sergeant MajorS. My buddy (we were First Sergeants together) is now a Brigade CSM. I catch him saying Sergeant Majors from time to time and I swear I would slap the f*ck out of him if I could get away with it! I mean, REALLY?! How hard is it to get right? And YES! You do have to use a so we know you are joking. It's in the internet rulebook
  20. Oh, I don't know...I think that anyone that takes pride in the NCO Corps would want to correctly refer to our most senior rank in the correct manner.
