  1. I made good money years ago buying, selling, and trading. Today I mostly buy and keep. The internet has made trading for profit more difficult.
  2. I can fish now, as I have a boat. I was just thinking of upgrading. No more than I get to go, however, it's probably a bad idea. The reason I'm thinking about a Honda motor is the fact that we now own a Honda 4 wheeler and a Honda car. They are both 100% trouble free except for routine maintenance which is minimal. My boat works fine, but it's older, so I do have to work on it from time to time. The only reason I'm considering a new boat is the hope of not having to work on it. If I thought it wouldn't be trouble free, I'd just stick with what I've got.
  3. That's just it, Doug. I'd like to go somewhere where I can look at a decent selection. I do think I want a 16'-18' with a 60-75 hp 4 stroke motor. I'd prefer a Honda motor I think, but am open to other brands. I'd also like some enclosed storage and rod locker, as the one I have no is pretty much open. https://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=4307 Something like this may be close to what I'd like. ON the internet, tracker boats seem to get a bad rap for whatever reason. I'm not brand loyal, and do not know that much about boats in general.
  4. I meant that is how I would start the email. "I'm curious..."
  5. I'm curious...
  6. Who knows? Maybe you helped convert him to our side.
  7. I am contemplating buying a new aluminum fishing boat. Where would you start your search?
  8. If I've learned anything, it is that people will disappoint you.
  9. Ordinary folks don't do those things?^^^
  10. I AM ordinary.
  11. Liberals are hypocrites. Heck, at some point, most of us are hypocrites. Most libs I know assume they are much smarter than every other human. Sounds like your customer shares this line of thinking.
  12. Thanks for taking the time to respond. As always, I respect your opinion, and this time, agree with everything you said.
  13. If anyone here wants to know what unwelcome feels like, sign up over at the democraticunderground forum.
  14. I had no idea of Link's race until I saw this post. If I did, I had forgotten it. Should I treat him differenly now? I think not. I've always valued his opinions and will continue to do so. I have not agreed with all his views, but respect them just the same. I see no reason to change my opinion of him, or how I interact with him because I now know he is black. He simply looks like a proud American to me. LINKS2K, I am curious if you feel unwelcome here because of racial issues?
  15. Your post explains my feelings on this better than I could have put it in my own words. There are people in this country who have gotten wealthy pretending to fight against racism. Any chance of actually getting rid of it means their income is over. Thus, I doubt it will ever cease to be an issue, real or perceived. Further, many seem to use the word racism like a club to swat any perceived shortcomings in themselves, rather than taking a look in the mirror and addressing the real problem. I attempt to treat everyone like a human being as long as I'm allowed to. Tiptoeing around black people, women, etc. seem disingenuous to me. As far as being treated differently in a gun store, I think one gets treated according to his attire and demeanor rather than skin color most times. When I was a young man, I had long hair, wore jeans and a t shirt. I was treated like a thug at many businesses. Today, thanks to male pattern baldness and perhaps a touch of wisdom that comes with age, the long hair is gone, and the t shirt is replaced with a decent looking button down. I find I am now treated respectfully just about everywhere. My skin color hasn't changed. In short, dividing people into groups is a democrat tactic that I personally despise. My group is American. You are either with me or against me. United we stand, divided we fall.
  16. Sorry David, but methinks you are off the rails on this.
  17. I dunno. A certain percentage of LEO got jollies out of trying to scare kids when I was a kid, and it hasn't changed. My son can't go anywhere without getting a seatbelt ticket. I know it's a law, but surely they have something more important to attend to.
  18. Why not take him at his word and let it go? Hell, he just lost a friend.
  19. You are missing nothing. Have you met any THP? I lived down on the "drag strip" for several years. My wife and I would sit on the porch on Friday and Saturday nights and watch the races. I raced cars there when I was a boy. I know the boy's family. It was surely a tragic event, but sometimes stupid carries with it a high price.
  20. All I want is someone who will read and adhere to the constitution. It ain't that hard really.
  21. How white are we? I do not know, nor care what the ethnic makeup of this forum is. I do not recall checking a box to indicate my race when I joined either. Is this something you feel we should apologize for or be ashamed of? I don't think much about another member's skin color unless he or she brought it up in a post. I think that if we ever get serious about getting past racism, that would be the correct mindset. I'm often wrong, however.
  22. I dunno. It isn't a big deal to me. I've had it a looooong time.
  23. I have a velvet.buck mounted. It was fine in the house, but once mama relegated it to the basement, some sort of bugs have eaten a lot of the velvet off.
  24. First I've heard of it.
