  1. We've been keeping accurate temperature records for about 100 years now. How old is the world? How the h3ll do we know global warming exists and presents a future problem? It was cooler when I got up this morning than when it was when I went to lunch......Global warming?

    Cool Bar-B-Q guns!
  4. I don't have any of them fancy snake guns, but I do have a couple of ponies. I even have a screwdriver with a horsey on it.
  5. I like the grips on the Python.
  6. A Glock? Duct tape it to the handlebars.
  7. I think the post 64 Winchesters started around serial #2,700,000.
  8. Don Hume has quietly produced millions of fine holsters at bargain basement prices for years. I don't see how they make a profit. I have some Don Hume holsters, and I can't make them for what you can buy them for. They are one of the best buys in the gun market in my opinion.
  9. I've went to look at more than one Ruger pistol only to get to explain that RG is NOT short for Ruger!!!!
  10. That Ithaca is a pretty thing as well. If you shoot it a bit, I'll bet you'll find a liking for it.
  11. +1 on the Winchester. Look at the bottom under the reciever in front of the lever. If you see a screw there, you have a fairly valuable and one of the very best made firearms there are.
  12. I don't give them a second thought. What I regret is the chances I had to actually score a really good deal on something and let it slip through my hands. That, I could have changed the outcome of. I once bought a motorcycle on ebay. It was at a pawn shop in Alabama. When I went to pick it up, an old man there asked me if I liked guns. He showed me a pretty nice Remington 41RF double derringer, and priced it for $175! It was worth more than the $1000 motorcycle I brought home. I didn't buy it because my wife was already pizzed about the bike. She'd have gotten over it. Those are the deals I regret.
  13. I believe the bobcat is the most beautiful animal in the Tennessee woods, followed closely be the wood duck.
  14. I've got a model 43 Winchester chambered for it. What was yours?
  15. I do, but I don't think the five hour drive to pick them up would be worthwhile. Now if you had some empty brass.....
  16. That does look nice. My point, however, is that I'd have paid just as much for it before you spent the money to refinish it as after. Also, you may be the exception, but most of the time you could have bought a nice one to begin with for the price you paid for the revolver and the refinish.
  17. I'd like to have a hi point 40 cal simply because that;s the only pistol ammo our Wal Mart ever has in stock.
  18. How could you go wrong for $19.99?
  19. 50 grams on mine. It slightly exceeds the weight limit but worked correctly. I think they meant you shouldn't try to weigh a pallet of bricks with your scale when they said not to exceed the 750 grain limit.
  20. I imagine collectors would pay a premium for an example of this.
  21. Frankford Arsenal DS-750 Electronic Powder Scale 750 Grain Capacity - MidwayUSA I guess they went off sale, but I ordered one of these units Friday night, and it was $19.99 on sale. I thought "why not?" I;ve just played with it for a few minutes, but it seems pretty darned accurate! It even came with a carrying case, pan, tare weight, and batteries. I doubt it will completely replace my beam scale, but for spot checking handgun charges, it'll probably get the nod.
  22. I see your point, but the no lock S&ws are getting hard to find. I didn't mean to slam Taurus as a company, I was referring more to the Judge specifically. I am a revolver fan, but this is one of the most useless products to hit the market in a long time. Be patient and you'll be able to buy one for a song once the new wears off them.
  23. Here's a couple of my favorite trophies. They aren't anything that would wow you, but I like them because I was there when he took them. He shot them both with a rifle built for him by his grandfather with ammunition he loaded himself with my supervision, of course. Maybe we'll get him a big one some day, but I wouldn't take anything for these.
  24. Stick your head out the window and form your own opinion.
