  1. I also had my mouth (inside lips) burned by holding the baton model in my mouth. I didn’t think about the fact that having electric connectors back there would flow juice out the back way when in contact with saliva. This is part of the problem with them. The issue with the olight is twofold. First is the charging design through that endplate allows the battery to be shorted to itself. Think like taking a wire and running it from one end of the battery to the other. It’s gonna heat up fast. The other is the batteries themselves aren’t of a great quality and tend to have issues controlling heat. It’s a great recipe for what happens enough to have become a meme. Olights get really hot and the batteries blow and/or start fires. The best solution is to throw the damn thing away, cut your losses, and buy a better quality light.
  2. I almost had one burn my truck up. In its sheath, battery had a thermal incident, singed/melted the sheath and burst. Blew out the end of the light. Was lucky it didn’t start a fire. I prefer that if I’m going to be carrying an explosive device, it’s intentional Me no likey olight no more.
  3. Nothing too much. The process is in process.
  4. I’m drunk.
  5. Thanks to @Links2k I have found a bourbon I don’t hate. It’s actually drinkable straight, but I do prefer it in an old fashioned.
  6. Yeah, they really, really effed up all the way around.
  7. That would’ve been far more defensible. That one single rep really, really screwed the pooch for the entire TN GOP.
  8. And you know you’re about to be robbed inside the shop at the place down the road.
  9. Regardless of whatever the reason really is, it appears it can be only a single reason. One the female rep herself made the suggestion it could be. As to any argument it’s anything else, we had a saying when I was in the Air Force. “The appearance of impropriety is impropriety itself.” It doesn’t matter what it is, it’s only what it looks like. To me and pretty much the rest of the country it looks like pure old school racism. Whomever the rep that voted differently for her is has got some serious ‘splainin to do.
  10. As someone who is opposed to the ways in which CRT filters down into lower level curriculums, I find myself in a position of asking “are y’all trying to make their case for them you effing idiots?!”
  11. Facts Especially with the uneven application of sanctions. It was a terrible, terrible move.
  12. I wish I was in that part of the state. I love those. I’d pick up a gaggle of them for myself and the kids.
  13. It it’s pointed straight down, yeah. It’s gonna drop straight through. What if the gun was never pointed down? What if he did the point at the ceiling, cool guy, slide rack? Say the mag had just enough tension to barely hold it then when it was inserted it let go of it. Slide is pulled back, .40 round pops up and the slide grabs the .45 round as it moves forward. Then it goes into the barrel and gets pushed forward by the .45 round behind it. It was never stuck, but it just sat in front of the chambered round. Trigger gets pulled, kaboom!
  14. I went and pulled the individual images in full resolution and one provides the better picture of the view from the bottom where you can see the barrel’s failure point. It makes the overt damage make much more sense.
  15. Man, when we had the General Politics section I almost banned myself.
  16. I find the market response to the introduction of .30 super carry as an alternative to 9 mm being a resurgence of .380 to be immensely amusing.
  17. Seems to be a pretty run-of-the-mill fudd take. “I am a hunter who owns guns, but nobody needs an AR-15.“” As far as the comments go, they’re the same regurgitated, talking points of people who have no experience with firearms or understanding of the context, in which the second amendment was written.
  18. There are two things going on here, one of them is the debate on whether public funds should be spent to protect a private institution. That is a legitimate debate worth having. The other thing is your view on the purpose and design of state funded public education. I would have to say that you bought a line of BS hook line and sinker. Because well, that’s what they’re selling to folks, that isn’t what they actually do and it was never their purpose to do so. Despite the best efforts and intentions of a lot of well-meaning teachers, education as a general rule, happens in spite of public schools, not because of them. They were never designed to educate people.
  19. If you think country music is going to hurt themselves, you should see what Bud Light is doing.
  20. Not like you want, but likely in a very uncomfortable way.
