Nice. Looks like you found a different place to put it, too.

Yeah, I think a great vacation would be to take your time driving up that stretch of coast, enjoying the small coastal towns. On another note, I sat next to a gut on the plane who was on the winning team in the SuperMasters division (entire team over 60). They won in 23:15:00 for an average mile split over the 197 miles of 5:55! That's unbelievable and awe inspiring at the same time.

Loose battery terminal(s). The vibration from trying to start is enough to make a connection and get it to start immediately after. Try giving both terminals a good twist, and see if they move at all. If they do, you've found your culprit. Clean them off, tighten them up, and you should be good to go. Hopefully a cheap fix.

It's a relay, so you aren't doing the whole thing by yourself. You are basically running a marathon in three parts. Only a few people run it solo. And they are amazing.

Ran the Hood to Coast out in Oregon. Sleep deprived. A little sore. A lot of fun.

So I just finished running the Nike Hood to Coast out in Oregon. 2 days - 197 miles - from the top of Mt. Hood out to the coast. Every time I run it, I'm struck by how beautiful the Oregon coast is. Definitely something you should see once in your life. It's completely different than the Gulf or Atlantic beaches. If you're ever looking for a great way to spend 4 or 5 days, I could think of a lot worse ways to spend your vacation.

Man... that's nice! Have fun with it.

Nice work! I was talking to someone recently who argued that it should be considered a civic responsiility for every citizen to have a working knowledge of their country's primary battle rifle. I would extend that out to being able to put one together as well. It's not a hard task by any means, but it feels good to know that you can do it.

I did enjoy the bumper sticker I saw, reading "Jesus is my savior, I'm sorry Obama is yours" Y'all let me know when you want to eat some B&C barbecue, and I'll be there. Or, if we're in that area - copper kettle. Wednesday is meatloaf day. -
I know that ESEE is making kydex for all of their blades now. I don't know if one would retrofit to one of the Ontario made knives or not. I would check over on bladeforums.

I've had one for a couple of years. It's my goto AR. Love it. You're welcome to shoot it next time we're down at OnTarget.

As you stated that you've not fired a shotgun, I would definitely recommend firing one with a both grip styles before you consider buying one. For me personally, I would choose just about any other weapon available over a pistol grip shotgun. With typical SD loads, it is going to be way too punishing to fire for anything but effect at more than a yard or so. With a shoulder stock, it's still quite possible to miss, but much easier to get on target and control. I'd be much more comfortable with an 870 or 500 in a traditional setup. In my opinion, there's really only one environment when a pistol grip shotgun is warranted, and that's inside a sailboat or someplace where space is cramped and contact is likely to be at very close range.

You need an ammonia cycle refrigerator. This is an old-school cycle, but still used commonly in RV's. Basically, a tiny burner evaporates ammonia and drives the cooling cycle. 323 Refrigerator http://www.arizonaenergy.org/AltEnergyClub/SMALL%20AMMONIA%20REFRIGERATOR.htm The one listed above is a 3-way. 110V, 12V and Propane. I bet you could look around on ebay and find a used on cheap.

Nice. I knew you were going to end up with a set at some point.

Somebody needs to cook up some gel and do some conclusive testing. All this supposition over .22 rounds is killing me. I'm going to go with OhShoot here. There isn't a hollow point commercially available in a .22 round that is going to expand in any way that's significant. Your biggest risk should you have to employ one of these mini revolvers in a social situation, is not getting the penetration you have to have because your round fragmented upon impact. You need a bullet that get's the maximum consistent penetration.

Looks great from my chair.

Nice info. I agree with you on being fast and light. I think that's why you see so much gear shed on the trail within 100 miles of either terminus.

If you got the mag version, the best rounds are the CCI mini-mag +V's. NAA publishes the data on their site, and they chronograph about 100fps faster out of that short barrel. I do carry one as a backup from time to time, and pretty regularly when I run. Use the safety notch between the cylinders. I've never had the hammer come back without me pulling it back.

Glad you were alright.

You guys were there as we were leaving. Wish I had realized it. I would have loved to have put a face with an avatar. Have you tried B&C Barbecue over on 8th in Melrose? It's pretty good. They say they make everything in house but the buns. I appreciate the little guy who thinks he can do it better and decides to make a go at it. -
When I was in college I ran a machine shop for the engineering school. We had a big old radial arm saw that had been donated to us when it's owner literally cut his arm off with it. Every time I ever used it, it was like staring down a killer. It wasn't some story your mom made up about a kid breaking his back on a trampoline, or some kid blowing his fingers off with firecrackers. You knew that this saw had run on a guy and cut his arm off before he ever knew what had happened. Gives me the willies just typing it. The really amazing thing to me is truly how fast accidents can happen. The Boy Scouts are right about being prepared. Good save, Mike.

Not a bad show at all. Found a couple of things I'd been hoping to pick up. It ws better than the last few goodman shows I've been to -
Chainsaws and table saws scare me to death every time I use them. Healthy fear is good I guess. Glad you're okay.

This Paul krugman is not the Nobel winner. He never makes the distinction clear, but the nobel winner passed away a few years ago.
