  1. Thanks for posting a pic of one of your tanned Coyote hides, WD-40. Good job... good looking pelt! "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  2. How was the gang-banger situation today? That's one thing that will deter many folks, including me, from going! Much concern about the parking lot, and the gang-banger problem. I hope it has gotten better, not worse. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  3. Now WD-40, you know we want to see a pic of those tanned out hides! Curious to see how much of the hide you skinned out. Thanks. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  4. Good luck! I like my Spitfire, and like yours, it has not been on a coyote hunt yet. I was over at Dick's a couple of nights ago, and they had quite a few of the FoxPro Spitfires there...still at $199... just in case anyone is looking for one. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  5. 101, have you taken a coyote using that FoxPro Spitfire yet? Just wondering how it was working for you in the field?
  6. Do the Mucks have anything across the top of the instep to tighten them up... laces, metal clasps etc.?
  7. Thanks for the info. I thought it was probably more work than it was worth. All my serial numbers match up now. Think I'll just leave it that way. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  8. Some on here have talked about the ease of changing a Savage barrel from .243 to a .223 barrel. They also mentioned changing the bolt face. Is that very hard to do? Wouldn't it just be better to have a bolt for each barrel... unless it's cost prohibitive? Also, has anyone changed their Savage barrel back and forth like this, and if so, did it adversely affect the accuracy? One individual indicated it was a quick and easy job to change between the different caliber barrels. I've tried to find a Savage in .223, and have had no luck. Not sure switching barrels is the way to go on a frequent basis. What do the Savage experts have to say? I'm all ears. Thanks for your advice. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  9. I had a friend that went to the Lebanon show yesterday, looking for a snub nose S&W 38 Special. She was disappointed. Said the prices were high, lots more junk than gun tables, and that the ammo prices were high. I heard the last Murfreesboro show was as good as those they used to have in Smyrna. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  10. It looks like the pelts on WD-40's coyotes are pretty good, for this part of the country. Maybe this is because of the harsher winter we're having this year. How about the rest of you coyote hunters out there, are you finding the fur to be better this year than past years? " To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  11. I'm not sure the Weasel ball can be rigged to run from the AUX, without a lot of electronic engineering. I was hoping someone would come up with some $2 gadget from radio Shack that would make it work. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  12. They are, and there's also one in Lebanon this weekend at the fairgrounds. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  13. Good choice! I have a FoxPro Spitfire that I bought at Dick's just before Christmas. I haven't field tested it yet either...no place to hunt right now, and looking for a Savage .223 to hunt them with. I also bought one of the Weasel Balls at Cracker Barrel, and hope to be able to control it someway through the "AUX" function, on the Spitfire. Hope you have good luck on the yotes. Someone said the pelts are better this winter...and that's good. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth". Theodore Roosevelt
  14. I've never shot the 24V in .222/20 gauge. I'd think that round (.222) ought to be pretty accurate, and have a pretty good range on it. What do you primarily use the .222 round on here in Tennessee? Deer, coyotes, wild pigs...or what? "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  15. Congrats WD-40, that's a couple of good looking yotes. Those pelts look like they're good for coming from Tennessee. So far, I'm one of those guys "that just talks about hunting yotes", but hope to get my stuff collected, and give it a try soon. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  16. Behindenemylines, stay safe, and we appreciate what you guys are doing for our country. Hope you're home soon. "To anger a Conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  17. 56FordGuy, sorry... I haven't been on here in a couple of days. That's a nice gun you have, as the -DL indicates it's a "Deluxe" version. Not all year models had serial numbers! It should be on the receiver, if you have one. If not, the year model is indicated by a letter stamped in an oval on the lower barrel lug, or somewhere on the lower barrel. These letters correspond to year of manufacture for guns without S/Ns. "To anger a Conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  18. I got this new "Skyote" hand call from FoxPro yesterday, and man... I've got a lot of learning to do on that bad boy... just so I don't scare the coyotes away! Anybody got any "quick learning" tricks or advice on the Skyote? There weren't but a couple of very brief instructions on the back of the blister pack card. Any instructions on where to find the best instructions are greatly appreciated. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  19. I got you 56FordGuy. Like the '56 Ford, that .22Mag/410Ga is a sweet piece of machinery. That designator, and the one that follows it, should be stamped on the barrel or receiver. Does it have the breech lever behind the hammer, or on the side of the receiver? How about the barrel selector...on the hammer, or on the side of the receiver? They are a real handy gun, for many applications. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  20. Nice gun! Would that be the 24F model? i think they did a "turkey gun" model in the .223/12Ga. camo version. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  21. Sounds like it's a Savage model 24, or it could be a Stevens...before Savage bought them out. It should tell you right on the barrel. If you'd like to read up on the different models and calibers, there's a website "Savage24.com". But, be forewarned, it has some problems...like hijacking! I've never got a virus there, but it is pretty wild sometimes. make sure all your anti-virus and firewall- popup blockers are energized! Thanks for posting.
  22. Congrats... beautiful gun. Hope you get to shoot it soon. "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
  23. Just for grins, I'm wondering how many folks on here have one of these Savage model 24 guns, and in what series, caliber/gauges. I'll list mine in a fashion that I hope others will list theirs. Lets hear from all you Savage 24 guys. #1. Savage 24S .22LR/20Gauge #2. Savage 24V-B .30-30/20Gauge
  24. Thanks guys. Like I said, I didn't mean to start WWlll. I have a Romy G AK kit that I haven't finished yet, and was just wondering if a significant amount of accuracy could be obtained by using a .223 barrel instead of the standard AK barrel, the purpose to be used in hunting coyotes? Probably best to stick with a good ol' Savage bolt in .223, huh? Thanks again, lively debate! "To anger a Conservative, lie to him. To anger a Liberal, tell him the truth." Theodore Roosevelt
