  1. Honestly, the gun is extremely straight forward as far as disassembly goes. I figured it out without any help. the only hard part was the barrel bands.
  2. clearing cookies and temp files and what not didnt seem to work for me.
  3. No problem. Hope it works out for you. I just bought two more of them for a couple of my 10/22's
  4. Its called Cosmoline and it protects the wood and metal from rot and rust. It comes off really easily with low and constant heat. disassemble the rifle and set it out in the hot sun all day OR use a hair dryer or heat gun and watch it drip off.
  5. He didn't buy a nice gun. He bought a Block.
  6. I agree with this statement MOSTLY. The 10/22 is an exception for me. Mine has run fine in every state. Clean, dry, dirty, wet, and any combination thereof. The 10/22 is a fantastic little rifle. And takedown is extremely simple. One bolt through the stock and the barrel band are all you need to do to remove the stock. Two pins to remove the trigger group (pins will move out with light pressure). Now you have the barreled receiver and bolt. Bolt lifts out without tools as well. I don't think a semi auto could get any simpler.
  7. I admit. I stole this from another site. Sorry for the repost.
  8. I picked up one of these a little while back. I like it. Really nice bag especially for 16 bucks. MidwayUSA Tactical Rifle Gun Case with 6 Pockets - MidwayUSA
  9. How was your breakfast, you gutless maggot? Did you enjoy your yogurt and your oatmeal? Maybe you had a ******y grapefruit? Well REAL MEN only eat bacon for breakfast. And not just any bacon-- bacon cooked to perfection in the hot, oily innards of a MACHINE GUN. You can find instructions here on how to make your own machine gun bacon, but anyone with any real COJONES, someone who's not a total COMMIE P***Y should be able to just do fine on their own through trial and error. I love the smell of bacon and gunpowder in the morning. It smells like... victory.
  10. there are literally a ton of .22's out there and will range from 100 to 1500 dollars. Personally, I like the 10/22 better than just about everything else. But that is just an opinion. You really can't go wrong though with the Marlin mentioned earlier or the Savage. Go to WalMart or any other shop and handle a few just to get an idea of what you want.
  11. You can have a lot more fun with a .22. You will keep both the cost and fatigue down by going the route of the .22. However, my suggestion would be to get both a shotgun and the .22 if that is what you want. You can walk into walmart with about 420 dollars and walk out with a 10/22 and Maverick 88. I know the Maverick isn't an 870 but surely that doesnt matter.
  12. I love mine. Mine is the tapered barrel though and I think its the ~7 inch barrel. I want to get another one with similar barrel length but bull barreled and throw a scope on for some serious target shooting. Maybe start doing some .22 challenge or steel shooting.
  13. Yep. This is an incredibly easy job. The only hard part will be getting the hammer strut lined back up when reinstalling the mainspring. The bolt disassembly on the Mark series is incredibly straight forward and easy.
  14. MSSA is the only one. I joined back in January because I needed an outdoor place to shoot. It is very expensive though. My fee in January was 530 dollars and then dues are due in June and thats 240 dollars more. But, I never have to pay for range time and there is never any one kicking me out. It took a while but the more firearms I acquired, the easier it was to justify the cost. Now, being a member, I am allowed to bring guests. The problem is, I don't know if I could bring in twenty or thirty people. However, there are often school trap competitions and other events held out there that are not attended by members exclusively. I am sure that the club would rent us a range if the organizers called and asked but I do not know what price we would be talking about.
  15. Started over the weekend for me. Happens on my phone, home computer and work computer. Three different OS's and three different browsers.
  16. I sold my mustang because I drove too fast all the time. I have a truck now and as soon as I hit the speed limit, I set cruise and don't touch the skinny pedal unless my life is on the line. I don't want or need any more tickets on my driving record. I am one year away from a clean record for the first time in the 11 years that I have been driving.
  17. Welcome from the Raleigh Bartlett area.
  18. Let me start at the beginning. I love .22's and a buddy of mine told me to come over one day and check out some of the stuff in his attic. I went over and found one that I just had to have. It was a Ruger Standard and I think I traced the serial to 1980 manufacture. The blueing on the gun is pretty decent and everything seemed to function decently so I gave him what he was asking for it and took it home. It was extremely dirty but after a good cleaning and oiling it looked great. I noticed when I had the bolt apart that the firing pin was shorter than spec and the tip of it was chewed up pretty badly. So that was the first thing I had to replace. After a new firing pin, the gun was shooting fine but I was having stovepipes out of every mag. I disassembled the mag and cleaned it really well and then got a little stumped. After some interwebs research, alot of people were suggesting that the extractor was the problem so I bought a VQ Exact Edge extractor. When it arrived, I compared the VQ unit to the stock unit and I could see that definitely would have been a problem. Its been about a month since I installed the extractor but I finally took the Ruger to the range this weekend and got to put a couple hundred rounds through it. FLAWLESS! I was amazed. And I am very excited. Even a friend who was with me was impressed and now wants a .22 pistol to plink with. I just wanted to sing the praises of the VQ Exact Edge and say that I highly recommend picking one up for your Mark series pistol or 10/22 if you are having FTE issues.
  19. I thought you left radio. (by the way, WRVR let me go back in December). If I have to go indoors, I go to RangeUSA but I am a member out at MSSA so that is usually where i go. Let me know and we can take the rifles out too. I was there Saturday and we had 10 guns out there.
  20. Awesome advert! P.S. SRS = Supplemental Restraint System
  21. Fixed a leaking shower friday night. Ran some errands saturday morning. 4 hours at the range Saturday afternoon. UFC Sat night Sunday = relax!
  22. Any time between thursday night and monday morning is fine with me.
