  1. I've changed my mind. I think I'll buy canned beans!
  2. Nope, no lotto! Just thinking about how to deal with inflation, which I believe is ready to hit pretty big time in the next couple of years.
  3. I haven't looked anywhere, yet. I'm doing some research right now. Thanks for your suggestion.
  4. Where would you go in Chattanooga to buy $10,000 worth of silver bullion?
  5. Welcome from Signal Mtn. Soddy isn't so far away. I like to see our Chattanooga base get built up more.
  6. I think it is too late to the party. It is five ounces heavier than either the Kel-Tec PF-9 or P-11, and about the same size. It is an untried/unknown mechanism. It's going to be expensive. I don't think it will sell like hotcakes. There's no urgent need for it. I'm guessing it will never make it to market.
  7. I have learned to just call a plumber right away, before I mess it up too badly!
  8. These days I'm carrying my Kel-Tec P-11 in my front pocket. It's less than $300, and reliable. If it ever breaks, KT customer service is legendary.
  9. Gotta have a pic for this essay....
  10. Yup, very funny!
  11. Welcome. You have a nice selection of firearms. You seem partial to Rugers. Maybe you would like the new Ruger "AR" in .223.
  12. And lay in a lifetime supply of .22 ammo while you are at it. It's not going to get any cheaper!
  13. It's too late to turn back the clock. The horse is out of the barn. The toothpaste is out of the tube, and you can't put it back. The new America is here, and we need to learn how to manage it. You can't go back to the old America. Just a few more years from now, I fully believe we will be in a North American Union, with a common currency. I wish we could go back, but we cant. So, let's figure out how to legalize and tax ALL the immigrants (and native born welfare recipients, too), so they can all help shoulder the load.
  14. Get a Sigma (sw40ve), and you won't need a safety. Believe me, you won't be able to pull the trigger unless you really want to! They are pretty inexpensive, too!
  15. The Taurus PT140 Mil Pro costs about $400, and has a safety on the side. It is probably not as good a gun as an XD, but many people like them. Bud's has them for $361.00.... https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/32439
  16. Well, illegal aliens DO pay taxes, actually. They pay sales tax. They pay gas tax. They also pay property tax if they buy a house. If they get legalized, Obama's plan will FORCE them to buy health insurance. If it weren't for immigrants, but legal and illegal, this would be a rapidly aging nation. The reality is: we need younger people to tax to take care of the old codgers (like me!)

    Taurus Slim

Pocket guns are more ammo specific than the larger guns. Seecamp for example specified up front a particular round to be used in his firearms. The "slim" is pretty small, and I'm sure it is finicky about ammo. It is not an xd nor a glock. I would work more with the slim before giving up on it. It might even be worthwhile to try slide return springs a little bit stronger, or a little bit weaker, than what comes with the pistol.

A lot of reliability issues have to do with finding the "right" ammo for your particular gun. Cheap range ammo has less oomph to cycle the slide. The slide also moves at a slower speed than with hp self-defense ammo. If your gun works well with cheap fmj, it may NOT work well with higher powered speedier ammo, and vice versa.
  19. Congrats! Don't forget your WalMart walk, eating cheetos, or doritos or whatever suits your fancy. It's a tradition.
  20. And don't forget the slip on rubber shoulder pad!
  21. That's a beautiful rifle, congratulations! The Mosin Nagant, good for WW1, WW2, and probably will be used in WW3 by somebody!
  22. Davey Crockett only needed his Bowie knife!
  23. bling bling bling bling!!!
  24. That sure is a light colored Mosin. Nice gun! I always liked those old Russian rifles!
  25. This should have been survey question! I say, keep it and don't shoot it.
