  2. I think you spilled your ammo!
  3. The Taurus PT145 is a nice gun at a nice price...test it for reliability with your carry ammo before you carry it regularly. The one I had worked better with full power hp ammo. http://www.mouseguns.com/ratguns/pt145/pt145.htm
  4. Congrats on your new rifle! It has been called the "Right Arm of the Free World." Way to go, and enjoy! We will definitely need a range report! (But you still need an AK!)
  5. Paul and Silas did jail time, too. Let's not be too quick to throw stones at Gabe.
  6. Let me just add here that Gabe's story has been well discussed on other forums, and I think the bulk of the evidence shows that Gabe didn't do much or maybe anything wrong. Read the following for full information....How does Gabe Suarez teach firearms classes? - Northeastshooters.com
  7. Yah, I get Gabe's newsletter. He always writes in an interesting way, and he is usually right. (Or maybe he is always right, and I just don't always agree! )

    The Judge

Gun Tests just reviewed the Judge and they liked it a lot. They do point out though that the buckshot pattern spreads out REAL quick.
  9. Last week's Gun Tests magazine gave it a good review and a B+. The only thing they didn't like was the short safety on/off lever. Apparently there is an after market lever that is a bit longer and easier to reach. Here's a link to the online manual in pdf format: http://www.czub.cz/zbrojovka/cz-manual/cz75P-07DUTY_en.pdf
  10. Steve McNair's girlfriend killed him with a Bryco 9mm. I guess they must work OK. You can buy them in Chattanooga at the ValuPawn on hwy 153 over by Northpark hospital. You can get a Jiminez .22 there, too, for only $109.00, brand new.
  11. You might read this too: Defining A True Pocket Pistol Personally, I have gradually come to accept the GLOCK 26 or 27 as a genuine pocket gun, if you wear loose khakis. For tight jeans or suit pants, nope, they are too bulky. In that situation, you need to downsize to a p3at. Even the PF9 is too much for tight jeans or suit pants.

  13. TK, that's pretty nifty that you bought your MAK-90 in 1994. I believe that was the last year they were imported. I bet yours is in really good condition.
  14. "Oh, I didn't know I had that 45 in my waistband! I just forgot it was there! I never intended to be armed! I must have Alzheimer's!" I guess that's not what it means, but it sure sounds like it.
  15. Gun laws sure do make honest people do strange things!
  16. Generally speaking, AK firearms are more accurate then people give them credit for. Also, "spray and pray" is more appropriate for fully automatic weapons, which the MAK-90 is not. There are very few true AK-47s ("machine guns") at large in the USA, but there are very many semi-auto copies of AKs, of which the MAK-90 is one.
  17. CAI or CIA (you see it both ways!) is Century International Arms, and they are the importer. Norinco is the North China Arms Company, and they are the manufacturer. Home Page That was for CIA, and here is the Norinco link: http://www.norinco.com/c1024/english/productsandservices/index.html
  18. There are VERY few handgun permit guys who carry openly in Chattanooga. It is technically legal, but I have no doubt you will get hassled every time you go out. I strongly advise you to carry concealed.
  19. I would be interested to know the importer. I will add it to my list.
  20. I like the Constitution party. But lets face it, 99% of the American population, if they vote at all, will vote Republican or Democrat. Third parties don't stand a chance. I vote third party anyway.
  21. I've been having fun studying MAK-90s... Norinco MAK-90 Model of the Kalashnikov AK-47
  22. This is the best pictorial description I have seen of disassembly of an AK47. At the bottom of the first page there is a link to a second page for detailed disassembly. Guerrilla Gunsmith ---- AK-47 Basic Disassembly
  23. I'd recommend you buy from one of the guys/gals on the board. There are plenty of people in the Nashville area who post here in the Classified section. We are a bunch of nice people, we will take time with you to explain everything, and you wont have to pay tax. Don't insist on getting the Ruger. There are plenty of other nice guns in the same price range that will do just as well.
  24. Very nice! You must have had a lot of fun with your project! Keep up the good work!
  25. Same advice. Buy another shotgun. Don't mess with the one you love.
