  1. I got a new Sub-2000 (GLOCK17 9mm) today at Shooter's Depot in Chattanooga. (A good range, and good gun prices, too.) They had a tag on it for $320, but let me have it for $330 out the door. A bargain, I think!
  2. A friend of mine, Bob O, made this sign to give to businesses who feature the no guns allowed sign... http://www.mouseguns.com/noguns.pdf
  3. The older mini14s were famous for not being accurate. Some say the newer mini14s have improved a lot. Anyone had any experience with this? Are the newer rifles more accurate?
  4. SKS with hollow points would do the job. Cheap, too!
  5. I had one once in 40SW. It's a really fine firearm. Congrats on your new acquisition!
  6. The problem with making charts like this: there is different info on different websites. Some measure the thickness in a certain way. Others another. Likewise weights, with or without a mag. I did my best, but no doubt there are errors of some sort. Sorry it's not PERFECT.
  7. There are 10 kinds of people those that know binary, and those that don't :D:D
  8. Thanks for all the great advice. Right now I'm saving up my pennies. I'm leaning toward a .243 Savage w. accutrigger and $100 scope. It will probably shoot better than I can shoot it, but I want to try. When I finally get something and get to shooting it, I'll let you all know how it went.
  9. How about if we throw this into the mix: I need to stay under $600 for the rifle/scope combo.
  10. Used H&R is a good bet, but you may not find one right away. Mousegunner's Harrington & Richardson 676 .22 Revolver
  11. Thanks for all the pointers.
  12. Is there such a thing as a 300 yard white-tail rifle that won't kick me black and blue? I can handle 30/30 OK, but not much more. And I'm not sure that a 30/30 is a 300 yard rifle, either. What would you all recommend?

  15. Sounds like you got a really nice Chinese AK. Congrats!

  17. Very nice gun, and thanks for your review.

Hickok45 -- Hey, nice to see you posting again. I hope you get one of these and do a video review for us! Internet rumors are that it is not very reliable. BUT, rumors are just rumors. We need to try these things out personally. Like you, I've fondled one, but not bought.
  19. 1099 = more work and higher costs for everyone. As a small landlord I have never before had to give 1099 forms to people who work for me, but now I do. The idea is to pressure the small contractor to pay more taxes, since now he knows that his income has been reported to Uncle Sam by whoever employed him. Our Fed gov is at work eliminating jobs and creating a bit more poverty for the little guy.

    keltec

I agree with the $250 amount. About carrying it, why not? Try it out, work with it, get it reliable, and there you go. It is a good lightweight ccw gun. It's not a GLOCK, but it's not a bad gun, either. Kel-Tec customer service is well-known as excellent, too.

    Gods Handgun

The best feeling gun in my hand was my Taurus PT145. Everyone's hands are different. It's great to get a gun that feels good, AND is also a high quality reliable shooter.
