I hunt from\off the ground as often as I can, but when I am on public hunting land or anywhere that I don't know what kind of idiots I might be hunting in the same woods with I like to be up off the ground, usually about 20 ft up. I figure that way I am less likely to be shot by someone who uses the spray and pray method for shooting at deer. At least if I am up in the air and if they are shooting ground level or from a stand down towards the ground then I feel less likely to have bullets flying by me! But that is just my opinion..... I like the summit climbing stands, I have one, forget the model, but it is very comfortable, I can sit in it several hours very comfortably. I also have owned API stands and they are equally comfortable, but the chain they use for climbing has shrink wrap on it and afer several uses it needs to be replaced. Once I got the summit I don't use the API anymore....

If a person carries in a purse built for carry, the idea is to have your hand on your weapon when in places susceptable to purse snatching so if your purse is taken you are left with your weapon in your hand.....at least that is how I understand some who use them execute their uses.

If they fish or hunt in their lifetime they will always thank you for it! It is a great deal for sure!

I love to dove hunt! I have not gotten too in a few years as there is never a place to go, some of the local farmers used to have pay hunts and they were usually pretty good but they all stopped doing it because of all the idiots that would leave lots of trash in their fields. It would be great if TGO had a hunt that I could make it to!

I have a P22 and it likes the bulk pack federal from walmart, it does not like the rem. golden bullet as much but it works OK. If the P22 is so close to the p99 you might want to consider it, and they usually run around 325 to 350.

You planning to use it to find deer? If so don't waste your money, I bought one a couple years ago thinking it would help find a deer if I had to track one, I tried it out the next deer I got, I saw the deer go down so I knew where it should have pointed me to but it was hard to get a good reading and I knew where the deer was. I sold it on ebay and never looked back.

I just traded my PM9 for one a couple weeks ago, it was already broken in as it was used. I was a little concered about the recoil, but to me it is not much worse than the 9mm was. I really like the little gun when I need to deep conceal or occasionally carry a backup.
-
I have had a Kahr PM9 for a while now and was very pleased with it. I carry 40 cal. most of the time so I have been on the lookout for a PM40. We got one, (used) in the store where I work on the shooting range a couple of weeks ago and I have been slobbering all over it since we got it. Last weekend I had a customer come in looking for a PM9, I suggested they buy the PM40 and that we could then work a trade! They decided to take me up on it! It is the black stainless slide model with night sites and it shoots every bit as accurately as my PM9 did, I am very happy with my new used pocket pistol! Here are the pics! Here it is beside its bigger brother that I am currently carrying as my summer EDC.

Took ours to the range today, it functioned flawlessly and the slide locked back every time the mag was empty. I guess it has corrected its problem. I was having this problem with blazer, and that is what I shot in it today.
-
We have one, the wife and I, it was purchased for her but I shoot it also. The only issue we have had so far is the slide does not lock back on empty mags. We are gonna shoot it a couple more hundred rounds and see if it corrects itself, if not I am sure springfield will take care of it. The weapon is eye candy for sure and a pleasure to shoot, very accurate, more so than I am. I would like to eventually get myself one in 40 s&w.

What is Tenn. law on this scenario?
andersmg replied to andersmg's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Boy, this one really got yall stirred up! I am glad to see so much good info on this thread. Perhaps it will help someone who reads it to know more what they can, or will do if ever in this situation. -
MTAC for me, I have two of them, one for my glock and one for the kahrs, or the new EMP... I bought a galco IWB for my fullsize 1911 but, I think I am gonna have to get another MTAC body for the 1911 as well.

I read this on another site and just copied and pasted it here to see what TN laws are on this subject... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I was throwing around some ideas in my head, ones that would be highly probable in my situation.... Picture this... You are walking down the street with your significant other. Some gangbanger fool or just any tough guy walks is sitting on a stoop with his buddies and plays tough guy with the whole "Who you lookin at... yadda yadda" and decides he wants to fight you... You keep walking but he persists... You can tell he wants to fight, for whatever reason, and you try to retreat, but he follows... You are carrying... If you get in to a scuffle, there is a chance you could drop your weapon or he could grab it, resulting in life threatening danger to yourself and your loved one... What do you do? My first reaction, if there was NO WAY to get him to stop and he definately is ready for a fight, is to draw your weapon, simply because he has access to it if he gets close enough... It seems a bit drastic at first if you think about some punk who wants to fight to show off, but the idea that he or one of his buddies could get a hold of your gun, is one that I think warrants drawing, keeping him at bay, and calling the police... What do you think?

I really like my PM9, but it is usually my go to gun when I need deep concealment. Most times I am accompanied by my trusty G27. But, as others have said my PM9 is exceptionally accurate and very easy to conceal, not to mention I have never had any malfunction with it...highly recommended weapon!

Definitely nice grips for the price!

I sent him a message about the ambi safety and mine being a taurus and he sent me a message back the next morning, communication was great and the grips fit nicely on my gun.

This is my first 1911, and I really like it, it shoots great and I have had zero problems with it thus far. I thought I would dress it up a bit with new grips. I got these from a guy on ebay, won the bidding for $12.50 with free shipping! This is the guy I bought them from just in case any of you like them: eBay Store - Gun Grip Guys Store: Unusual Collectibles, Colt 1911 pistol grips, Colt SAA pistol grips

You will most likely learn with trial and error what will and won't work for you. I would wager eventually you will go the route most of us have and change your attire to dress around your weapon. I carry IWB all the time and really like carrying that method, you do have to buy larger pants and your shirts will need to be baggy as well otherwise your weapon will print. JMO and I am sure you will, (like most of us) try diferent methods and holsters until you find what suits you best. I recently purchased a full size 1911 myself and I plan to buy another kydex body for my MTAC to carry it IWB.

I bought myself a good safe, that is my insurance....

I know you asked about cabins, but we own a time share with Westgate smokey mountain resorts: http://www.westgateresorts.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=resort_detail.show_resort_details&resortID=WESTGATE_SMOKY_MOUNTAIN I have some brochures/flyers that will give you a 4 day 3 night stay for $99 dollars, you will be required to go for the sales pitch a couple of hours one day and it is of course up to you whether you buy or not, but that is the only catch to be able to stay for $99. If you are interested let me know, send me a PM with your name and address to send the flyer to.

The show was pretty good, I have been to better and worse...the only thing I bought was a double mag carrier for my glock.
