  1. I don't know how it is on the west side of the Appalachians but over here, on the east side, the media seems to be on an anti-gun blitz. Every day they are reporting every time a gun crime takes place or a negligent incident happens. I get suspicious when I start seeing that. I just wonder what the anti-2nd people are up to, they have not given up on banning firearms. Be safe out there. Don't give'm any fuel to burn. I wish I could tell those crazy people that "if your going to commit a murder/suicide, do the suicide first!"
  2. Bill Dance. What else would a Tennessee boy wear?
  3. OK, You guys have convinced me. Trap it is. I'm hard headed but not stupid.
  4. The big advantage of a J frame revolver is the speed at which it can be grabbed and deployed. For that reason I carry my model 36 IWB on my strong side. It is that fastest pistol I own to grab and fire three rounds and get good hits. If you don't believe me (I own over two dozen handguns and I have had a contest to see which was faster. The little wheel gun won) try it yourself.
  5. Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming. Right now I'm thinking a box of 22 shorts and some rat poison. That darn Crossman Pumpmaster 760 is a POS. It has a telescopic sight but it won't hit the same hole twice. I missed two good shots, now they are getting gun savy. Money is really tight right now, I've been working overtime lately just to pay the bills. I ain't letting no furry tailed tree rat ruin my Christmas but I have to be safe and smarter than the Squirrel.
  6. I have found the nest and where they are getting in at. It's a mother and two younguns. I have called professional Critter Gitters and they want $400-$500 to get the three Squirrels out of my attic. THAT AIN'T HAPPENING! I live in the suburban jungle called Research Triangle Park. I am not suppose to shoot firearms in my neighborhood. My Crossman Pump has missed twice today, I think the barrel is bent. I need a Squirrel Killing BB gun or a way to shoot my 22 quietly. I have been looking at some Benjamin air rifle that delivers at 1500 fps and 24 ft/lbs of energy. What about a 22 short in my rifle with some way of silencing the report? I am not shooting in my attic, I'm shooting in my back yard.
  7. This old french dude's son in law, daughter and grandchildren get murdered by these hitmen and he promises vengeance. It has a Tarantino feel to it but doesn't suck like some of his movies. I don't want to give too much away but there are some ineresting twists like....they have a contest to see who can reassemble a 1911 the fastest.
  8. My wife and I got it on Netflix last night and as soon as I saw it was in French with English subtitles I almost turned ot off. I am glad I didn't. The subtitles don't last as it transistions into english but it was an excellent flick. It reminded me of a good western with a Hong Kong attitude. Highly recommended......
  9. The class is less expensive than I had originally expected. These guys are way out in the sticks (Mayberry) and charge less than the Raleigh (big city) area boys. I also will not have to take a vacation day. $175 for the class. $150 in ammo (no reloads) and a few gallons of gas. They highly recommend knee pads and elbow pads so maybe I will buy some... It looks like this class will cost less the $400.
  10. I did it! Signed up for Defensive Handgun Training from these guys Defensive Concepts North Carolina - Firearm training and the defensive use of the handgun, rifle and shotgun. . I may not have signed up if not for you guys, thanks. Now I have to pick a handgun to carry. Revolvers are out but my choices are: Glock 19 CZ-75 SP-01 XDm-40 4.5" Colt 1911 XD-45 I am leaning toward the Glock 19 but all of these pistols shoot great.

    Glock Gen 4

I am a big fan of the XD series from Springfield, but I must admit that my Gen 4 Glock 19 is an awesome pistol. It is my EDC weapon. I have a Crimson Trace laser guard on it. This pistol will be a classic.
  12. EDC is always loaded as are my HD guns. All others are unloaded.
  13. Welcome to the club! I have a Mark II and a Mark III Hunter. These pistols are a much fun as a 1911 and as accurate a pistol as I have ever shoot.
  14. Yes that was a slam against Fox News. Yes I do watch them but sometimes they are so stupid it embarrasses me. If it wasn't for Faux News, John Stewart would be back to doing stand up......It ain't just Fox either. MSNBC, CNN are just as bad. I like HLN becuase that gal is soooo hot!
  15. Dis mang is crasy mang. Jew know?
  16. Wow! I thought you guys were kidding about the squirrel! Found the coyote.
  17. Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: I think you oughta get yourself an M-16. Sergeant Major Plumley: Sir, if the time comes I need one, there'll be plenty lying on the ground.
  18. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/26/nyregion/blind-new-jersey-man-challenged-again-on-guns.html I saw this on Faux News this morning. They are trying to say he's an alcoholic so they can deny him the right to own guns. It seems that all they have to do to prove you are an alcoholic is to show that you drink. 1)He did get kicked out of a bar in 2003 for being too drunk. They threw him out into the "public". 2)He did shot himself in the leg with a .357 magnum. Faux News had this really annoying New Jersey defense attorney on who made a complete fool out of herself. It was almost like Faux News was anti-gun.
  19. I like me a red neck metaphor. We do need a politcal cleansing. We need to flush the bowl.
  20. Those Filipinos have been making fine handguns for a long time. I do believe they are using old Colt tooling that Colt left behind. If I had to choose between the two I would go with the Rock, although Paras are made in America, in North Carolina. Since you didn't ask I will not try to talk you into buying a Colt.
  21. I am so glad that some of you guys (and gals) are helping your children learn how to clean their weapons. My father, uncles and all of their friends, fought in world war two. I was honored to be able to help my father clean his shotgun or rifle. My father taught me how to clean his guns, while he taught me about the evils of communism. His generation had done so much and sacrificed so much but the job was not over. It is still not over, our young men and women are still fighting. It was an honor to clean the rifle of a man who fought and defeated the Japanese and Germans. I think our children should learn how to clean a firearm. Our sons and daughters. My advatar is the MacMillan Taratan, from Scotland. We came to this country to find freedom. We settled in what is now Alabama and Tennessee. We found freedom and have been fighting for it ever since.
  22. I told my wife, "If you are going to own a gun and shoot a gun, you are going to clean it too!" So I'm in the dinning room cleaning her pistol again...........
  23. This is some very good advice. The Blog : The Truth about Violence : Sam Harris
  24. That sounds great Worriedman but who is going to protect all of that? A well regulated militia. The point I was trying to make is tha we can't survive without working together. You will need your nieghbors to help you live and to protect what you have. You will need law, education and healers. Cops, teachers and doctors. A SHTF scenario will surely bring out the worst in our society but it will also bring out the best. Through the grace of our Lord.
  25. Sweet! I have a DB380 which is 100% reliable and shoots better than any 380 pocket pistol I have ever shot. I went with the Ruger LC9 instead of the DB9. Wait till the DB45 comes out!
